Tim Hightower gained 9 yards on his first-down carry. He picked up a yard and a first down with a second-down carry.

Hightower picked up 5 yards on a first-down carry. On second down, Skelton scrambled out of trouble and picked up 9 yards and a first down. A 5-yard illegal contact penalty on Mario Haggan was tacked on to the end of the run. On first-and-goal from the Broncos 10-yard, Hightower picked up 2 yards. Then Skelton hit Fitzgerald for 3 yards to the 5-yard line. On third down, Renaldo Hill knocked away Skelton’s pass attempt. Jay Feely came on and kicked his fourth field goal of the day to extend Arizona’s lead. This one was from 23 yards away. It was a 10-play, 72-yard drive to start the half for the Cardinals.

CARDINALS 19, BRONCOS 3

Q3 9:40: Eric Decker returned Feely’s ensuing kickoff 51 yards to give the Broncos good starting field position for their first drive of the half. They’ll start at the Cardinals 40-yard line.

Q3 9:30: Orton slipped away from trouble on first down and fell forward for a 5-yard gain. Moreno picked up 11 yards on a run. Orton then tossed a pair of incompletions and J.D. Walton picked up a personal foul for a blow to the head. That makes it third-and-25 from the Arizona 40-yard line. On the play, Orton hit Gaffney for a 17-yard gain. Steven Hauschka came on for a 40-yard field goal attempt. He missed it wide right. Arizona takes over at their own 30-yard line.

Q3 7:11: On first down, Skelton missed Jim Dray over the middle. A host of Broncos slipped into the backfield on second down and dropped Beanie Wells for a 4-yard loss. On third down, Skelton hit Breaston for 16 yards and a first down.

Q3 5:41: Wells picked up 5 yards on first down and an encroachment penalty before the next play on Marcus Thomas gave Arizona a first down. Skelton tried to flip a pass to Hightower on first down but missed with it nearly being intercepted by David Bruton. With Jason Hunter bearing down on Skelton on the ensuing play, the rookie quarterback misfired again. On third down, Skelton’s pass for Breaston was broken up by Andre’ Goodman, bringing on Ben Graham to punt. His punt was fair caught by Eddie Royal at the Broncos 7-yard line.

Q3 4:23: On first down, Orton hit Moreno for a 6-yard gain. The running back picked up a yard on second down. His pass for Graham on third down fell incomplete, bringing on Britton Colquitt to punt. The punt traveled 60 yards, and Andre Roberts returned 15 yards to his own 41-yard line.

Q3 2:54: Hightower rushed for 9 yards on first down and Doucet ran for a first down on the next play. As the drive goes on, Tim Tebow is throwing on the sideline.

Q3 1:39: Arizona picked up a first down when Skelton fired a short pass to Stephens-Howling and Syd’Quan Thompson was flagged for unnecessary roughness for a late hit. After an incompletion, Arizona was flagged for a false start. After a pair of incompletions, Feely is back on the field to try a long field goal.

**INJURY UPDATE** Kyle Orton is probable to return with injured ribs.

Q3 1:03: The 49-yard field goal attempt sailed wide right. The Broncos will take over at their own 40-yard line. Orton is in the game under center.

Q3 0:59: Orton and Moreno can’t complete a handoff and the Broncos have their fifth turnover of the game and third lost fumble.

Q3 0:47: On a designed wide receiver pass, Champ Bailey knocked away Steve Breaston’s deep ball for Larry Fitzgerald. Hightower picked up 8 yards on second down to the Broncos 31-yard line. With 2 seconds left in the quarter, Arizona has to use its first timeout of the half, facing a third-and-2.

Q3 0:02: On the final play of the third quarter, Skelton can’t hit Doucet under pressure. It’s now fourth-and-2 from the Broncos 31-yard line.

Q4 15:00: Moments after the press box P.A. announcer said that Feely was the first kicker in Cardinals history to score a touchdown, the kicker starts the fourth quarter with his fifth field goal of the game. This one is from 49 yards out.

CARDINALS 22, BRONCOS 3

Q4 14:55: Decker returns the kickoff 28 yards to the Broncos 34-yard line. The Broncos began the drive with a false start before the drive’s first play. On its first play, Orton tossed a pass for Royal. It was ruled incomplete, but Denver will challenge. It looks like it would be enough for a first down if reversed.

Q4 14:40: The call on the field was confirmed. It’s second-and-15. Moreno ran for a 4-yard gain before an incompletion. The Broncos will have to punt again. Colquitt nails a 51-yarder and Andre Roberts returns it 6 yards. Arizona starts from its own 22-yard line.

Q4 13:47: Hightower on the carry. He’s hit by Robert Ayers and fumbles. D.J. Williams recovers it. The Broncos come back on the field, starting at the Arizona 25-yard line.

Q4 13:08: After a Moreno run and a short completion to Graham, Orton hits Royal for a 12-yard gain and a first down. The Broncos have first-and-10 at the Arizona 12-yard line.

Q4 11:31: After three incompletions, the field goal unit is on. Steven Hauschka, who is 1-for-2 on the day, connects on the 30-yard field goal. It’s the Broncos’ first points since their opening drive.

CARDINALS 22, BRONCOS 6

Q4 11:20: Stephens-Howling returns the kick 23 yards to his own 21-yard line. Mario Haggan tackles Stephens-Howling for a 3-yard loss. Stephens-Howling picks up 8-yards and then an offside penalty gives Arizona a first down.

****INJURY UPDATE**** Marcus Thomas has an ankle injury. His return is probable.

Q4 8:50: Three runs by Stephens-Howling picked up another first down. He’s in because Beanie Wells has a stomach ailment.

Q4 7:22: Hightower breaks off a 41-yard run off the right side. He picks up 7 yards on the ensuing first down run. Then, he picked up 8 more to score the rushing touchdown. Those are the first points today not scored by Jay Feely.

CARDINALS 29, BRONCOS 6

Q4 6:07: Decker takes the ensuing kickoff out to the Broncos 29-yard line. Eddie Royal scampered for 18 yards on first down and then made a 16-yard catch. Orton then hit Moreno for a 10 yard gain. After a pass to Lance Ball got nothing, Lloyd drew a pass interference penalty to pick up a first down.

Q4 4:14: Lance Ball pushed the pile to gain 4 yards on the ground. On second down, he hit Lloyd for 8 yards and a first down. Then, Gaffney drew a pass intereference penalty in the end zone. The Broncos have the ball at the Arizona 1-yard line.

Q4 3:35: Knowshon Moreno punches in the 1-yard touchdown run for the Broncos’ first trip to the end zone today. Hauschka adds the extra point. It was a 7-play, 71-yard drive.

CARDINALS 29, BRONCOS 13

Q4 3:31: The Broncos try an onside kick. The bouncing kick was recovered by Larry Fitzgerald. Arizona takes over at the Broncos 41-yard line. On first down, Hightower picked up 5 yards and the Broncos took their second timeout.

Q4 3:19: Hightower picked up a yard on second down and the Broncos used their last timeout.

Q4 3:18: Hightower broke through the line and carried 35 yards for a touchdown. Feely added the extra point.

CARDINALS 36, DENVER 13

Q4 3:09: Lance Ball returned the kickoff to the 35-yard line. On first down, Orton hit Moreno for a 6-yard gain. After an incompletion, Orton was hit and threw an interception to Daryl Washington. The linebacker ran back the other way before Lance Ball slammed out a fumble at the goal line. Teammate Darnell Dockett recovered it in the end zone for the touchdown.

CARDINALS 43, BRONCOS 13

Q4 2:25: Perrish Cox returned the kickoff to his own 33-yard line. Lance Ball took a pair of handoffs to bring it down to the two-minute warning.

Q4 2:00: Ball picked up 19 yards on a run before an incomplete pass. There’s a bit of a scuffle after the play, but no flags. Ball ran for 2 yards off the right side and then 5 more to the right. On fourth down, the running back is stacked up for no gain, ending the game.

    olderthandirt has left the country

  2. DoomervilRocks92 says:

ya hopefully they start Tebow next week so that he can get to play.

  3. HolleyBronco says:

If only the owner would listen to the fans,…

  4. coloman187 says:

This is just embarrassing. I wouldn’t put Tebow in right now not for mopped up. Start him next week and get the season over with.

  5. DoomervilRocks92 says:

at least they are just running out the clock now and not trying to score.

  6. Broncosfan907 says:

his playcalling is better than what we had today. we had the chance to run the ball all over them and instead we poorly threw the ball too them

  7. KRich says:

Wake up Mr. Bowlen – the answer is sitting on your bench. Duh, big red truck.

  8. Broncosfan907 says:

    to*

  9. jlalum01 says:

PAT BOWLEN, how long are you going to stand for this? I know rebuilding is tough but some of your players fail to understand they are playing for jobs next year. Perhaps YOU being the OWNER should explain that to the whole staff and team tomorrow.

  10. since1972 says:

    Sweeeeeeeeeeeet

  11. coloman187 says:

    Thank god it’s over

  12. DoomervilRocks92 says:

Ok. the game is finally over. see ya guys later. i need to go cry now.

  13. BeastFromEast92 says:

Well we got a couple extra WRs and RBs and QBs we need to trade and get some draft picks so Elway can get some players in here that want to play.

  14. HolleyBronco says:

When Childless and Phillips were fired there respective teams played better. Makes you think about all the injuries and close losses.

  15. HolleyBronco says:

For all that wanted Josh fired and celebrated whether was… you stink.

  16. HolleyBronco says:

These players want to play but as B. Lloyd put it “the best coach I ever played for” just got fired because know nothing fans made a bunch of noise.

  17. sndvl says:

Another 4 game losing streak. Nothing short of a miracle, and we have a top 5 pick.

  18. broncofan6453 says:

Do we have a coach on the sidelines that has the nerve to take Orton out of the game to put Tebow in. What does it take. Does it take someone to slap the coach on the side of the head to radail his brain & open his eyes so he can see whats going on, & see Orton is not that good. There has to be some reason they refuse to put Tebow in, not some lame excuse. They need to be honest with us fans so we can come back next year. I do remember one thing Mcd is the one that put this team together. I would like to see if he (Mcd) did something right buy drafting Tebow.

  19. Yovi21 says:

Well, I want to know straight up, Is Tebow not panning out? Why on Gods green earth would you not put Tebow in when Orton is single handedly losing us a football game? Please Pat, break down Studs door and tell him Tebow gets the nod this week! I’m not even mad that we lost, I’m mad that Tebow didn’t get some valuable experience!

p.s. Orton you stink! I watched you quit in the third!

  20. Yovi21 says:

Holly this game would have been lost with or without McD, he wasn’t getting us anywhere! Don’t cry over spilt milk!

  21. sndvl says:

Haha. Holly. Ain’t so jolly. Then we should prolly get a 3rd round pick for B lloyd. And who cares about the former HC besides you and a few others. This is his team, regardless how you spin it. McD did nothing but build a weak team. Accept it. Move on. Look forward to the future. With Elway in it. I’d rather have him instead of sticking with this!

  22. areferee says:

    This was consummate embarrassment.

Mr. Bowlen has so many people to rid himself of, that he should consider not only firing every player that can be identified as dogging it, but firing the entire staff including the water boy and janitor, and then disinfecting the locker room.

If Tim Tebow does not start the Oakland game next week, Mr. Bowlen, Joe Ellis, Xanders and the interim head coach had better prepare themselves for tens of thousands of empty seats for the final two home games.

The discontent of Broncos fans goes far beyond who the head coach is. If Mr. Bowlen doesn’t make a strong statement to everyone in the locker room this week, the empty seats and non-existent TV ratings, from this point forward, certainly will.

  23. Cdudbronc24 says:

If tebow doesn’t start nobody will attend our home games

  24. strandoftds says:

Heck, we might be pick # 3 over all come Jan 3. And you know what? I like it that way. Our season was over weeks ago. Come on April!

  25. Cdudbronc24 says:

We should’ve resigned Champ when we had the chance. Why would he want to play for a disoriented organization like ours?

  26. strandoftds says:

Tewbow will start at home against the Texans.

  27. strandoftds says:

We`ll put the franchise tag on Champ and then sign him to a 4 year deal.

  28. Greatness007 says:

Wow no one blamed McD for this lost?? Oh wait he was fired. Now who ya’ll gonna blame??? Looks like Orton and to think Orton was not the problem b4. I think some fans need to look in the mirror and realize it on ya’ll!!!

  29. Cdudbronc24 says:

He wouldn’t sign the 4-year deal. he’s at the point of his career where he wants a superbowl ring.

  30. PNG Bronco says:

I guess Studs got some work to do…???!!!

  31. HolleyBronco says:

I’m on a crusade to get the real problem removed from the ear of Bowlen… know nothing “fans”.

  32. Yovi21 says:

Greatness, I’m the reason we lost, not the three picks and the fumbles? I am enlightened! I never knew I was the problem!

  33. strandoftds says:

Its called the franchise tag. He can`t sign with any other team. Put the tag on him.

  34. broncosfreak30 says:

YEA, OKAY WTF JUST HAPPENED!! I AM GLAD THAT WE LOST BECAUSE WE WILL GET A BETTER DRAFT PICK AND WE WERE ALREADY NOT GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS OR SUPERBOWL SO I DO NOT WANT US TO WIN ANYMORE GAMES!

THIS GAME WAS A STRAIGHT UP GAME TO BE ABLE TO TEST OUT OUR ROOKIES AND EVALUATE OUR PLAYERS FOR NEXT YEAR! I MEAN THINK ABOUT IT, IF IT HASN’T WORKED THE WHOLE SEASON WITH OUR STARTERS IN, WHY LEAVE THEM IN THE WHOLE GAME?? THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING GOING ON WITH TEBOW AND THE ORGANIZATION, HAS TO BE, HARD TO BELIEVE BUT I CAN’T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE!!! I MEAN, I COULD KIND OF UNDERSTAND, IF WE WERE CLOSE TO WINNING, WITH TRYING TO GET THE WIN AND LEAVING ORTON IN, BUT NOT EVEN CLOSE!! WE LOST 42-13 TO THE TERRIBLE CARDINALS!!! WHY FIRE JOSH IF WERE STILL NOT GOING TO THINK AND HAVE COMMON SENSE?? WHY NOT JUST HIRE ME FOR THE INTERIM COACH FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON, FREE OF CHARGE, AND I CAN MANAGE AND USE THIS TEAM BETTER THAN WHAT WAS SHOWED TONIGHT!!! TEBOW NOT ONLY SHOULD HAVE PLAYED THIS GAME, HE SHOULD HAVE STARTED IT!! IT’S LIKE SOMEONE IS PAYING ALL THESE COACHES/INTERIM COACHES TO COMPLETELY DESTROY THE BRONCOS ORGANIZATION!!!

STUDS, YOU BETTER START TEBOW NEXT YEAR IF YOU WANT ANY CHANCE IN THE NFL, EVEN FOR AN ASSISTANT COACH!!! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE JOB!!!!! ELWAY, PLEASE HURRY AND SIGN YOUR CONTRACT AND GET IN HERE AND SHOW THESE GUYS HOW TO RUN AN ORGANIZATION!! ALSO GRUDEN, I HOPE THEY SIGN YOU MAN, BUT I COULD UNDERSTAND IF WE DON’T WITH OBVIOUSLY HOW WE CAN NEVER DO THE RIGHT THING!!!!

P.S. SORRY FOR ALL CAPS BUT I AM JUST SHOWING MY FRUSTRATION!!!!!

  35. BeastFromEast92 says:

What do you people think is gonna happen when a RB coach with no HC experience takes over a team.McD is gone, good riddens!

We have Elway coming in to help with personell and new coaches, this year was a failure,we knew that(some of us did) already,so worse case scenerio,we get a top 3 pick, big deal!

McD hired incompitent coaches for his staff, now it shows the whole staff stinks, time to CLEAN HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  36. Greatness007 says:

Ya’ll wanted Shanny fired. So it was done. Ya’ll wanted Jay gone when he started crying. Done!! Ya’ll wanted BMarsh gone when he ot arested again. Done. Wanted Shef gone after he didn’t want to play the last games of the season. Done. Wanted McD fired. Done. The only constant is Mr. Bowlen giving in to ya’ll. I see. Now when people were saying start Tebow. People as well as you said Orton was not the problem. It was the line. Now look. McD was making Orton look good. Nomore covering things up now.

  37. broncosfreak30 says:

Also, if we do not sign the Champ, then there is no way that we will ever get any good players!! Players aren’t going to want to play for Denver whenever they give absolutely shut down performances and pure heart and we do not sign them!!

    Mr. Bowlen,

Please save our franchise and do the right thing! There is not another Champ Bailey in the whole world and whenever you have completely shut down performances and make Fitzgerald and Bowe look like trash, I would hope that would say it all!!!

  38. Cdudbronc24 says:

Daniel Graham, Don Martindale, Mike McCoy, Kyle Orton, Correll Buckhalter, Ronald Fields, and Kyle McCarthy will be gone next year

  39. BeastFromEast92 says:

Wasn’t any worse than the Raider game, who do you McD lovers blame for that loss???

  40. broncosfreak30 says:

    BFE…

I wasn’t expecting anything out of Studs but I thought the guy had enough common sense to play Tebow and give him some work for next year!! But no, he wanted to keep Orton in and run the ball the whole time and stick to short, completely predictable, throws!!!

  41. strandoftds says:

    Broncofreak30, #3 pick dude.

  42. Cdudbronc24 says:

    Greatness, what about Mike Nolan?

  43. Orange_Crusher says:

Childress and Phillips both left their teams in decent shape.

Ronald McDonald left our team in complete shambles.

HollyBronco, you were happy to lose with your pal, but now your mad to lose without him? You know it’s still McDs fault that we lost today, right?….

I’m still in a good mood though! This loss doesn’t bother me at all. We already lost the season and soo many games that it really doesn’t phaze me.

We are one step closer to a top 5 draft pick! That is good!

Yovi21, Yes Orton stinks! Lets let him stink us right up to the top three draft picks and then we’ll wash him up real clean and trade him to Al Davis…..lol

    ILMSDB! W or L!

  44. areferee says:

A public apology, directly from the owner to his fans for the embarrassing performance of his team, is in order. Nothing less will do.

  45. broncosfreak30 says:

    Cdud…

Graham shouldn’t be gone because even though he can’t catch all that well, you cannot name a better blocking TE!!! We just need two pass catching TE’s!! We need to get rid of one or two of our TE’s now and then have Graham, and two great pass catching TE’s from the draft!!! Hopefully, one will be Kyle Rudolph!!!!

  46. strandoftds says:

Put tag on Champ. Plain n simple.

  47. Greatness007 says:

Thanks Cdudbronco. I forgot we had a bad stretch run on D after that 6-0 start. People(fans) wanted Nolan gone too. It was done.

  48. BeastFromEast92 says:

freak, studesville was trying to win a HC job that he hasn’t got a snowballs chance in Hell of getting in the first place. That’s why he stuck with Orton,I guess,IDK.

  49. Cdudbronc24 says:

Broncosfreak, you are aware he will be our highest paid player next year right? I’m not saying he’s bad, i’m just saying he’s getting over-paid

  50. strandoftds says:

2nd round pick of TE Rudolph would be cool.
