HEAD COACH JOHN FOX
On the loss:
“The reality is we’re 8-7. We’ve won one more game than we’ve lost and today wasn’t good enough. We were minus-four in the turnover ratio. I thought they outplayed us in all three phases. Offense, defense and the kicking game. I thought we got a bad break on our return for a touchdown. Minus-four in the turnover ratio, much like a week ago, that’s kind of what happens.”
On a comeback attempt:
“We had opportunities but it went the other way. They stretched their lead out with two turnovers for scores and my hats off to them. They were ready to play and they outplayed us.”
On the AFC East:
“It’s a good division. I think we drew the NFC North and the AFC East and I think they are both good divisions. I think that’s why the AFC West is a pretty close race.”
TIM TEBOW
On Buffalo’s defense:
“You have to give them a lot of credit. They played well and they executed. They came up with big plays and I just have to do a better job of not giving them opportunities.”
On back-to-back losses:
“We understand that every game is a big game. In the NFL every team is good. As far as being humbled, we are a team that believes in each other and I don’t think this has changed anything. We have to bounce back and have a great weak versus Kansas City.”
On next week’s game:
“It’s the Denver Broncos vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. That’s a great rivalry. It’ll be a great game and I’m excited we’ll get the opportunity at home in front of our fans. And as a player, as a quarterback, as someone who’s dreamed of that my whole life it will be exciting to have one last game to try to go win and make the playoffs. We’ll put our best forward and go try to execute and hopefully win.”
CHAMP BAILEY
On the loss:
“Too many big plays in all three phases. You can’t play defense as poorly as we did and give up a lot of points in every phase of the game. That’s everyone, offense, defense and special teams – we all gave up a touchdown. It’s not acceptable.”
On the team’s confidence:
“It hurts, but you get over it. You have to be a pro. That’s why we play 16 games. We have one left to get us in the tournament and that’s all we have to worry about. We know that. We just have to make sure we go get it.”
BRITTON COLQUITT
On Leodis McKelvin’s punt return touchdown:
“I hit my first one and didn’t hit it real good and then he had two fair catches, and I think he was like, ‘I’m not going to fair catch it.’ I thought he was, really, because we were down there and I hit it about as good as the other two. It was just one of those things.”
On special teams playing well this season
“With the way our team has grown and become the way we are, it takes it from everywhere. Everybody has to join in to play. It’s not like some teams where their offense is so good that their defense doesn’t have to do anything. I think our team thrives off of momentum and field position and the kicking game brings that. When we give them something like a punt return for touchdown, that’s going to give them something where the defense doesn’t even have a chance to stop them because they scored on a special teams play. We just have to play well every game as far as special teams and I think we’ll help our guys win.”
ELVIS DUMERVIL
On getting back to winning:
“We’ve got to stick to the fundamentals. We’ve got to execute. We’ve got to do the things necessary to win the game – no turnovers, stopping the run and getting after the quarterback. That’s the way you win.”
On win-and-you’re-in
“We’ll be ready. You couldn’t ask for a better opportunity than to go against Kyle (Orton). We’ll bring our ‘A’ game.”
DANIEL FELLS
On offensive frustration:
“Very much so, we’re frustrated. We felt like that was an embarrassing performance, and we know we’re better than that. So we’ve got to come out next week and show that we are.”
On playing Kansas City next week for the AFC West title
“Honestly we’re all upset and embarrassed and frustrated by this game. It’s going to linger for a little bit. But we get to spend the holidays with our families tomorrow – that’s going to help take our minds off of things. Then we’ll come back Tuesday and get ready to go.”
CHRIS KUPER
On the offense’s early success:
“We’re going to have to look at it, but we definitely have to sustain that throughout the game. That’s kind of been the theme this year – we haven’t played four quarters of our best football as a team and especially as an offense.”
On the team’s confidence:
“It took a little ding, but we’re not giving up, we’re not out of it. We’re still in the race, so we just have to prepare better next week.”
SPENCER LARSEN
On special teams giving up a lot of yardage and a touchdown:
“We’ve been real consistent on special teams all year long, so that’s a big surprise. I think it’s a learning experience, like all these are. We can learn from it and it can turn into a positive. I think that’s where we need to focus.”
On controlling their own destiny:
“We’re fortunate in that way. I think we all feel like we need to make sure that we don’t let the moment be bigger than the opportunity.”
WILLIS McGAHEE
On his 1,000-yard rushing season
“It’s cool and all, but at the end of the day, we want the W. I’m actually glad I got it so we don’t have to talk about it.”
On controlling their own destiny
“I’m always fired up about a game regardless of who it is. This is a game we need and it’s a must-take game. We need to go out there and play lights-out football.”
