The Broncos offensive starters are Ryan Clady, Ben Hamilton, Casey Wiegmann, Russ Hochstein for the injured Chris Kuper, Ryan Harris, Daniel Graham, Brandon Stokley, Jabar Gaffney, Peyton Hillis, Correll Buckhalter and Kyle Orton at quarterback.
Q1 14:00: Sorry, Eddie Royal started not Stokley. Two big runs for the Broncos to start as Buckhalter goes for eight and then 14. First-and-ten at the 42.
**INJURY UPDATE** – Spencer Larsen is out with a shoulder injury. Not sure if it happened in pregame or on the opening kickoff.
Q1 12:58: After a short run and an incompletion to Brandon Marshall, the Broncos face third-and-nine. Orton has all day to throw, but can’t connect with Stokley. Both wanted a flag on the play, but the refs didn’t throw it. Kern to punt to Quan Cosby who fair catches the ball at the Bengals 11.
Q1 12:43: The defensive starters for the Broncos are Ryan McBrean, Ronald Fields, Kenny Peterson, Mario Haggan, D.J. Williams, Andra Davis, Elvis Dumervil, Champ Bailey, Andre’ Goodman, Renaldo Hill and Brian Dawkins.
Q1 11:43: Two short runs by Cedric Benson and it is third-and-nine for the Bengals. Carson Palmer hit Chris Henry for the first down to the 31-yard line.
Q1 10:00: The Bengals pick up another first down with a Palmer completion to Chad Ochocinco. On the next play Ochocinco is flagged for holding, pushing the Bengals back to their side of the field.
Q1 9:00: After an incompletion and a short run, the Bengals are facing a third-and-nine. Palmer looks for the former Jet Laveranues Coles, but it is incomplete. Royal back to receive the punt.
Q1 8:40: The Broncos will start their second drive of the game at their own 16-yard line after Kevin Huber’s punt went out of bounds.
Q1 8:00: Knowshon Moreno gets his first carry and gets five yards to the 21-yard line. On second down, Moreno can’t find any room and goes for no gain. Third-and-five, Orton in the gun has the ball tipped and falls incomplete. Kern out to punt. Cosby takes the ball to the midfield, where he is brought down by Wesley Woodyard.
Q1 7:11: First down and Palmer hits Ochocinco for a first down, but bring it back. Penalty on the Bengals pushes them back five yards. The Bengals get those yards back on the following play as Cedric Benson finds some room.
Q1 5:40: An eight-yard gain by Benson and it is third-and-two. Palmer looks for Coles again, and has the ball bounce out of his hands and almost into the hands of Alphonso Smith. The punt unit is out and it is a fake. Brian Leonard gets the first down.
Q1 4:00: Using the momentum from the fake punt, the Bengals have it in the red zone.
Q1 3:00: A short reception and a short run and it is third-and-three at the 11-yard line. Palmer has Leonard behind him, and gives it to him but he is going to be short. Dawkins comes up to make the stop. Shayne Graham is out for the 28-yard field goal, but the snap goes array… Broncos recover all the way back at midfield.
Q1 1:44: Memories of the 2006 season coming back on that one. If you remember a bad snap on an extra point for the Bengals cost them a chance to tie the game late in the fourth quarter.
Q1 1:43: Orton has time on first down, but no one is open. He steps up to avoid the sack bit gets tripped up. Second-and-14.
Q1 1:23: After an injury timeout for the Bengals, Orton hits Marshall for an eight yard gain. Third-and-six, Orton in the gun with Moreno to his left, looks put the pressure gets to him. Flag on the play, chop block on Moreno. Penalty is declined and Kern is out to punt. Short return for Cosby and the Bengals will start at the 32.
Q1 0:07: The Bengals close out the first half with a 34-yard reception from Palmer to Ochocinco. They will start the second half in Broncos territory.
Q2 15:00: Palmer is sacked by Davis on the first play of the second quarter, loss of ten yards pushes the Bengals back to the Broncos 44. Second-and-20.
Q2 14:27: Third-and-14 for the Bengals, who have four wide receivers in. Palmers a lot of time and looks for Coles, but Goodman knocks it away. Fourth down and the Bengals will punt. Royal calls off his teammates and the ball is downed at the 16-yard line.
Q2 13:32: Third-and-nine for the Broncos, Orton has the ball tipped, but the reception is made by Gaffney short of the first down. Kern Back out, sends a line drive, but Cosby doesn’t have much room and is stopped at the 33-yard line.
Q2 11:57: Benson gets the Bengals seven on first down but is stopped for no gain on second down. Third down, and Palmer hits tight end Daniel Coats for the first down in Broncos territory. Gain of 16 yards on that completion.
Q2 9:47: After a Benson eight-yard run, the Bengals try to get creative with a quick pass to Bernard Scott. Broncos sniff it out for a six-yard loss. Third-and-eight, Palmer steps up and after missing earlier, connects with Coles for a first down.
Q2 8:00: The Bengals keep it on the ground for first and second down and are facing third-and-six. I am going to guess Palmer looks for Coles, nope Ochocinco, but Bailey knocks it and Woodyard picks it. Broncos ball.
Q2 6:32: A short run by Moreno and a seven-yard pass to Royal and the Broncos have a third-and-two… Orton can’t hit Royal, and Kern is back out for punt number five. Nice high punt by Kern, and the Bengals will start at the 32-yard line.
Q2 5:06: On first down, Palmer hands off to Benson, who is met immediately at the line by Fields. The Bengals try some trickery on second down, as Ochocinco takes a reverse for an eight-yard gain. Bailey makes the tackle just before the first down, though. On third down, Benson gets the first down.
Q2 2:00: A run and catch by Benson and the Bengals have a third-and-four after the two-minute warning… Palmer in the gun, is pressured by Darrell Reid and the ball falls incomplete. Fourth down, Royal back for Huber’s punt. Royal calls for the fair catch at the 18.
Q2 1:48: Broncos go three wide to start the drive and give it to Buckhalter, who squeezes out seven yards. Second down and Buckhalter gets the first down. Broncos in the hurry up.
Q2 00:34: Third-and-three at the 36, Orton in the gun again… quick pass to Royal for the first down and the Broncos will use a timeout.
Q2 00:26: Broncos near midfield after the 11-yard gain by Royal. Four wideouts for the Broncos, Orton finds Gaffney at the 31 for 21 yards. Before the Broncos can get the next snap off, the replay booth wants to look at the catch.
Q2 00:20: The play stands, first down at the 31… Orton hits Tony Scheffler, but the ball falls incomplete. The crowd disagrees, but the play stands. After a short run, Matt Prater is out to attempt from 47-yard field goal. Timeout Bengals.
Q2 00:20: Snap, set, kick on the way… good. Broncos lead 3-0 at halftime.
