With the season just passing the halfway mark, several Broncos are in the hunt for Pro Bowl bids, according to the fan-vote figures that the NFL released this week. Fan voting has been open since Oct. 25th and will end on Dec. 19 at the conclusion of the Monday Night Football matchup between the Steelers and 49ers.
Punter Britton Colquitt, safety Brian Dawkins, linebacker Von Miller and quarterback Tim Tebow are amongst the top-five vote getters in the AFC for their respective positions.
Tebow has led the Broncos to a 4-1 record since taking over as a starter this season, while Miller leads all rookies with eight sacks on the season. For his success, Miller was recently named Sports Illustrated’s midseason defensive rookie of the year.
Like Tebow and Miller, this would be Colquitt’s first Pro Bowl if elected, and he’s making a strong case for himself. Entering Week 11, the third-year punter out of Tennessee was one of only three NFL players to rank in the top-five in both gross and net punting average through nine games.
If the quartet is selected, Dawkins can show them the ropes. The 16th-year player has been to eight Pro Bowls and is in contention for his ninth, which would tie him with former Broncos safety John Lynch for second all-time in the NFL for Pro Bowl selections as a safety.
Click here to cast your votes for the Pro Bowl.
The teams will be announced at 5 p.m. MST on a special NFL Total Access 2012 Pro Bowl Selection Show on NFL Network.
The game will be played on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012.

Trapping is hunting – just diff equipment like bow hunting.
Here in CA I run into a lot of folks that are very fearful outside the comforts of a city environment.
It’s all good.
My intentions were not to argue with you dude, just trying to help you understand not to bash Tebow for his religion,it’s his right, that’s all.
LMAO@db!!!!!!!!
Well it’s only midnight here and all my big kids just came in and woke up all the little kids. I think I’ve settled them all down for the night and it’s time for me to hit the hay.
Gotta get all us folks to church on time in the morning. LOL
db…..later bro!
I’m a Beer Drinker and Hell Raiser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HAHA!
I know what you mean. I lived in Golden, Aspen Park, and Bailey. I still own property just outside of Aspen. My wife’s family has property near Glade Park outside of Grand Junction. We have a bunch of family out that way Hayden – near Craig. And then we have half a dozen relatives we visit going out of Grand Junction headed up the Hwy 50. We have friends and family all through Red Rocks and Pueblo area as well. Have hunted all of that area. Good times! Favorite Places!
orangutanblue…I don’t believe in pushing religion on anybody dude..it’s not right to push it down peoples throats, but I don’t believe in talkin’ trash about people that do believe either,I guess I’m pretty bias!!!
And I do drink a lotta beer..we might not be that much differen’t!!!
It’s a Pyromania!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Almost 3:30 here…..I’m gonna eat and go to bed……….SHOOT…I been up since 5:30 my time hunting……………Geeesh!!!!!!!
orangut = glax !!!??? Am I right?
LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HAHAHA
HAHAHAHHAHHAH!!! I FREAKIN KNEW IT!!!!!!
Man I freaking knew it,I was gonna ask earlier….I should have known!!!
You’re like a freaking STD…..hard as Hell to get rid of…….
Yeah – still trying to get the teens settled down – they all came in pretty wired and wanting to talk.
I’ve never trapped. I got into bear hunting because of trapping though.
I was with a friend sighting in my first hunting rifle – 30.06. We hear a bunch of shots and then what we thought was a woman screaming. There a lull and a bunch more shots. We went creeping through the brush thinking we were about to see a woman murdered.
Turns out a guy caught a 300 lbs female black bear in a large trap. (I have no idea what he was really after but it was my impression that he was trying to foil human trespassers) All he had was a 30/30 to dispatch it and he had no permits or tags but it was on his own land. When we got there he had already put his 8 rounds into this poor bears head and brisket and she was a mess but she wasn’t going down. I ended everyone’s misery.
30/30 is no match for a 30/06!
I knew it when you started going into your rant which went right into your microcosm of adjectives — especially when threatened with ignorance toward your spelling which is a classic glax retort.
orangutanblue……….well played Glax……….you changed your name because nobody could stand your sorry arse, you forgot your password….too funny!!!!!!!!!!
Plus your a musician and an artist can pick another artist out easily.
Royalty artist??????
I couldn’t believe that idiot was using the 30/30 on a bear. Kid you not – nearly every one of his rounds barely made it through the hide right there in the brisket. He had tried the head shots from behind the bear. When we skinned her out – the skull was cracked and gouged but the rounds had just bounce out again tearing large holes in her hide.
Well guys it’s almost 4:00AM here….Hell I been up since 5:30 AM..that’s a long freaking time,considering I been drinking since 6:00PM!!!!!
GOODNIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LMAO was thinking the exact same thing glax haha!!
All rightBFE goodnight my friend i’m out too…

Take care glax I hope you and your daughter are doing well, talk to you soon.
So Royalty…Is he safe to blog with?
MODERATORS can we get some of these posts removed? The guy is on here making sexually explicit comments, and using profanity on top of the fact that he is just trying find ways to insult everyone on here. He is clearly a troll, not a Broncos fan.
And by guy I am referring to orangutanblue
I wouldn’t say safe db lol he does push buttons — as seen above, but definitly amusing and bay usually gets a laugh out of him.
Like I said he lives in his own microcosm… you’ve been warned about his blogging style, i’ll tell you that. But, he’s — from what I know about him a good father rasing his daughter alone and doing his best at it so on that level he’s not that bad of a guy… per say.

*raising
Well I was half way through the posts when I wrote that. Now I don’t know what’s going on anymore. Apparently, you’re known around here and you’re a real Bronco fan, so whatever. Half of your posts on here text book trolling so excuse me for taking offense to some of it. I’m not a christian and I still took offense your vulgar rhetoric, and the way you made it to insult other bloggers. But like I said whatever, apparently it’s a joke and that’s the type of thing that goes on here at 2am on Friday. Just don’t act shocked that someone called you a troll for trolling.
BB&R: I’ll also tell you that he was one of the most vulgar bloggers at times. He would also have good input when he seemed to not be ‘trolling’ and at times was very intellectual, as well as polarizing, many on here thought that he had been MODDED OUT. And those are the facts, no hidden punches right glax?
lol I’ll leave it right there…
You’re smart guy orangutanblue. So you know that by parenthetically adding (not profanity just a golf term) you are making it profane. Cute that you are trying to make it sound like I took offense to things that weren’t meant to be offensive. I can speak your language all day. I pretty much was you. In 5th grade. But instead of trying to talk circles around bloggers and make them feel dumb, I did it to my teachers. Do your thing though, I could care less as long as everyone else is cool with it. I’ve definitely seen folks modded out for less though.
Royalty – thanks for the info.
I was reading at the 12th grade level and beyond in fifth grade so I didn’t mean to make it sound like I was calling you a child or anything. You’re clearly pretty smart.
And it really wasn’t about Tebow for me. Insult him all you want. He gets insulted by a lot of bloggers on here for reasons ranging from his play to his character. He is a Bronco and therefore highly relevant on this blog so say whatever you like. He’s a big boy.
I’m the second blogger you’ve called a hypocrite, and the term doesn’t apply in either case. Honestly I thought I was the one extending the olive branch to you. I meant it when I said you were smart. Glad you’re enjoying yourself. And I rocked at dodge ball fyi. haha. Have a good one I’m turning it in for the night.
Well you sensed wrong. If I was intimidated by your intelligence I could’ve stayed out of this entirely. Yes you are clever – not so concise at times – and very lucid. I’ll give you that. I called you out because you were acting like a jerk. You could have stated your opinions on Tebow’s post game interviews without “concisely” going on a tangent about how he deepthroats microphones and going on to essentially call Christians idiots. Good night.
Wow man I feel like you are projecting a lot of feelings on me. First the not getting picked for dodgeball scenario and now I’m angrily storming out of a chess club meeting. I think a picture of your childhood is forming for me. You insult me for having a high reading level but not before carefully breaking down the semantics and splitting hairs between calling someone a hypocrite and and just implying they are one. You call me unoriginal for taking your words and using them against you, even though you made a sloppy and simplistic attempt at doing the same thing to BFE. You had a field day when he used the word “dude”. That was not funny and not at all poignant. Now I’ve been trying to go to bed since before 3am and I am really going to do so. I will admit that your banter was enough to keep me entertained and awake so kudos. If having the last word keeps all of your painful childhood memories at bay the please feel free to do so.
Just exactly why I choose not to blog at night, plus I sleep at night, call me crazy, haha.
I could care less about hunting since I have been a vegetarian since 1972 but I don’t care that you guys want to talk about it, just don’t make me eat it.
Same with Tebow’s faith, I am not a man of religion, even so born a roman catholic, altar boy for years, lived a year in India and its surrounding countries interested in hinduism and buddhism fascinated by the reincarnation and nirvanah concept, I just don’t want to be spoon fed his Christianity or any other religion through football even so he is a missionary and can’t help himself.
And that has obviously become an issue in pro football in general for years and now is even more magnified in Denver with Tebow, and that is not pleasurable for me at all to see what it does to the Bronco fan base. I saw that coming from a mile away, Tebow disciples dishing out their agendas and Tebow doing it himself every chance he gets. But since Christianity teaches its disciples to go out and teach the gospel or something like that, fans like I will unfortunately have to endure religion through football and that saddens me, but here we are, I love watching Tebow so I bear it, but it’s obnoxious as heck to me, even offensive, I just call it like it feels to a man like me.
With the Broncos off this weekend, Broncos’ front-office bosses John Elway and Brian Xanders are in Waco, Texas scouting the Baylor-Oklahoma game.
I saw that game last night and it was electrifying, what a game, and I don’t care who they were scoutnig but the Baylor QB Griffin III was absolutely sensational, both throwing and running the ball, what a performance and I hear he’s had a tremendous career at Baylor and now it has culminated in the firs ever Baylor win against Oklahoma, congratulations, that in essence put the final nail in the coffin of Oklahoma’s chances at a national title, wow!
And it’s funny, just as I said here yesterday that with Tebow we better have a great back up as he could go down any game and that we should draft one as high as we can, here is what Klis says even so Griffin III is projected to be a first round pick:
Adding Griffin as Tebow’s backup next year would make sense. Griffin is an athlete who could run the read-option spread that Tebow is currently running.
So I’m not the only idiot on the block, LOL.
Turtle
BFE is correct, I won’t take score predictions for the SD game until tomorrow Monday, so you’ll have to make yours again.
Here is a perfect question/answer on Kiszla’s mailbox that illustrates how stupid stats can be:
Passer ratings overrated.
“Mr. Statistics, please consider these career quarterback ratings: 81.6, 80.2, 79.9. Two of these numbers are those of Hall of Famers Dan Fouts (80.2) and John Elway (79.9). The third number is that of a quarterback who has been named by the experts as the worst player at the position since, well, ever. The question: Does Tebow have to bring his game down a bit to one day be eligible for the Hall of Fame?”
David, Loveland
Kiz: Well, we hate to bring you down with a statistical update, David. But the crack research team here at Kickin’ It Headquarters has discovered that in Tebow’s rousing comeback victory against the Jets, his career QB rating dropped to 79.8. So let us throw some more numbers against the wall: The immortal Chad Pennington had a career QB rating of 90.1; Shaun Hill has crafted a nifty 84.7. That’s a nice way of saying: QB rating is a worthless stat for many reasons, not the least of which with NFL rules increasingly slanted to favor the passing game, you might as well as compare the video game quality of Tecmo Bowl with Madden 11.
See…
How much better it feels talking football on a football blog rather than religion, haha.
Let’s close up this peaceful Sunday morning after that raucous ugly Saturday night with a feel good about Tebow post from Woody:
In late April 1983, Edmund Raymond Bratkowski, the Baltimore Colts’ offensive coordinator, believed he soon would be coaching one of college football’s all-time dynamic quarterbacks.
Zeke never got that chance.
John Elway, selected No. 1 in the NFL draft, refused to play for the Colts, and, a week later, was traded to the Broncos.
Fast forward 23 years and Bratkowski tutors, and completely changes, the throwing techniques of another of the pre-eminent college quarterbacks in history.
Tim Tebow also would end up with the Broncos.
“Everybody wants Timmy to be a 60 percent (passing) quarterback. I guarantee he soon will be,” Bratkowski said. “He’ll get better and keep improving. He was 31-of-35 in his last college game (the Sugar Bowl). Despite what his critics say, he will be a great passer.
“Tim Tebow is a warrior. He is a winner. He will be a Pro Bowl-caliber quarterback.”
When I asked Bratkowski on Saturday if there had been quarterbacks in the pros Tebow should be compared to, he replied: “Not really. Timmy’s unlike any quarterback or person I’ve ever been around.”
Zeke served as Bart Starr’s backup when the Packers won an NFL championship (and got Green Bay to the game by taking over for an injured Starr in a playoff game and starring), then the first two Super Bowls.
The man called “Zeke” became a coordinator-quarterbacks coach (Packers, Bears, Elway-less Colts, Jets, Browns and Eagles) for dozens of QBs, including John Hadl, Lynn Dickey, Ken O’Brien, Bernie Kosar, Jim McMahon, Randall Cunningham and Boomer Esiason. And he eventually would work with Philip Rivers on footwork and Michael Vick on passing before they were drafted.
After Tebow’s shaky showing during Senior Bowl week, his throwing motion was condemned and draftniks claimed he wouldn’t be drafted in the first round or ever play quarterback in the NFL. Bratkowski was called upon to do a makeover on the young quarterback daily for three weeks.
“I helped Timmy do some things differently and better. We sneaked off to Nashville to get away from everybody. It was a great experience. He had an unbelievable work ethic. I knew right away he could do it.”
Bratkowski convinced Tebow to move the ball above shoulder level, tighten his throwing movements and keep his right arm tucked.
“He was a left-handed baseball pitcher (in high school), and like all pitchers, he wanted to take the ball back further and get more zip on it. He doesn’t have to. He’s got a strong arm. He adjusted.
“Is he there yet? Not entirely. But he’s still a rookie in my mind, and he keeps progressing. I watch all his games, and Thursday night’s (comeback victory over the Jets) proved again how special he is.”
But what about Tebow’s release point and awkward throws? “I was in Green Bay for the alumni game (against the Broncos). When Timmy came off the field after warm- ups, I grabbed his jersey between the ’1′ and the ’5′ and told him he was overthrowing just a bit, to relax and pay no attention to the critics and just keep working hard.
“I can tell he’s throwing the ball away sometimes to avoid the interception, and he’s just barely missing on some passes. Other quarterbacks miss too, but people want Timmy to be perfect. You’ve got to get into a rhythm, and he’s not passing that often. I think there’s just so much going on around him, and maybe he’s thinking too much and trying to do too much. When he throws naturally, he’s had some great completions in tough situations.
“Timmy’s going to have a breakout passing game soon, and somebody will be in deep trouble.”
Once again, see how much fun that was and not one single word about religion or faith was necessary. That’s why I love football, completely frees my mind from everything else.
I justed re-watched the Houston game from last year, and the Miami game from this year. (just our offense). In the Houston game and the last 6 minutes of the Miami game, about 75 – 80% of our passes where under 10 years initially (not counting YAC). I saw a Tebow with great touch, and was amazed by how good his screen passes are. We have abandoned the screens and 5 yard and under passes. We are never hitting short middle routes. Tebow can hit those passes.. People mention his accuracy, but during Tebow’s press conference he mentioned that he is putting a priority on every pass to make sure he is not placing the ball in position for a turnover. Hence the the passes low to the receivers. He is doing what FOX is telling him to do.. That is not turn the ball over.. He can hit the short passes, and FOX needs to let McCoy add them back to the mix. We moved the ball very well with the short stuff in the above 2 games. I know there are 8 and 9 men in the box, but the turnover fixation is driving me crazy. If we throw shorter passes, it allows Tebow to get into a groove. Heck maybe we’ll have Royal/Willis/ or Decker break one. These constant deep outs and deep posts/go routes have to be limited, I love those routes but to make that the staple of your offense insane unless you have Randy Moss. Memo to FOX: Watch the Houston & Miami film again, and grow a set please.
Great to hear those emncouraging words from Zeke. I’m sure that we’ve all seen the improvement in TT’s passing mechanics from his final college game to Indy. If he can continue his progress, he’ll be our main man for many years to come. What we all need to remember is that he’s played only 5 of his 11 game tryout for Broncos 2012 starting QB. He’s had good and bad and it will continue. The biggest need is that the bad diminish and the good increase. His future will be decided by EFX only after the full 11 games and not a day before.
tim tebow is the starting qb for the denver broncos and an evangelical christian. how he speaks and what he chooses to share with everyone is what they do. I am very grateful that some bloggers realize this and move on. as do I, until now. I don’t care two cents how many people hate him for it, he will never stop. and why should he have to? if we are an enlightened and thoughtful society, we would be able to accept folks for who they are. however the human condition refuses to accept people who have adamant feelings about issues opposite of our own. if you have to say, I am this and that offends me, then what is the difference between the two? atheists and agnostics push disbelief every day on believers as they complain about believers pushing theirs. it is apples and apples.
Obviously was not expecting the religion talk to stop, will just disregard it is all, it’s a free country, Tebow, his disciples and atheist counterparts can talk religion instead of football all they want, just count me out.
