The Broncos on Saturday waived/injured running back Mario Fannin and claimed running back C.J. Gable off waivers from New Orleans.
Fannin suffered a knee sprain in practice Thursday afternoon.
Gable racked up 1,566 rushing yards in his four-year career at the University of Southern California, with four 100-yard games. He also had 1,196 career kickoff return yards.

TRB thinks we have sufficient depth at RB.
Atlanta retaining Snelling proved my point of how worthy he is though since three other teams were in the running but Atlanta obviously outbid them all.
Our red zone might be better BB&R..I’m just poking some fun at the fact that the Red zone seems to bo Orton’s downfall…I went to that Colts game last year and it was awful! Orton threw for like 470+ yards…and his only TD came off of a 40+ yard pass to Lloyd…he was unstoppable between the 20′s but it seemed as if there was a forcefield separating Orton from the endzone…We got stopped 5 times inside the 20 that day. I understand it’s early, but the fact that we had 2 promising drives with Orton end because we couldn’t get the ball in the endzone, while we were in the red zone, kinda throws up a red flag for me…and it’s a big red flag considering he was running the first string offense against our second string Defense…..Obviously too early to start making assumptions though!, I can’t wait for preseason to start so we can see what we are really dealing with!
Raidrhdr, you right. Thursday night will be some sloppy football at it`s finest. Or should I say it`s worsed. HaHa!! It`s gonna take some time and we know that.
Im just listing what we got. Not unless they are gonna sign a big name with that 26 million, all real viable RBs are off the market. Sure they can get some bodies for trianing camp but they already have 8 and most of them wont make it. I see Fannin being resigned assuming someone doesn’t claim him and if his injury will only take like 5 weeks to heal or something. The best signing we can do to get a RB that could actually possibly matter is when people cut down to 53 man roster. But until then, I personally believe we are fine with what we got. TRB
On August 30 and September 3 are the cuts and players put on waivers. There`s going to be prime RB`s and FB`s that we can claim. Remember we are number two on the list, 2nd only to Carolina when it`s waiver wire time. Every player goes through us when it comes to claiming a player. Lots of players to choose from. We won`t claim many but only those players that EFX feel that can come in right away and can contribute. We still have some holes to fill.
I expect us to claim a RB, FB, OL, and CB come September 3. It is what it is. There will still be some shuffling around even after September 3, thats just the nature of where we are at because of a mediocre team, especially on defense and special teams. Just some perspective is all.
We are heading in the right direction so I`m excited about where we are going. The only way is up.
Oh hey guys I want to clear up that Tebow did get booed on one play. Can’t remember which one. They might have been booing the reciever though. So Even though i disagree strongly with imready’s general point of view most of the time, he was telling the truth.
Tebow is gaining momentum and getting better with each practice. When the pre-season starts, we will be able to see if Orton can score in the red zone. Tebow has been effective in the running game and passing. Look for Tebow to give the Broncos that swagger back and lead us back to the playoffs. Tebow has shown he can manage an NFL offense and ability to extend plays and improvise. Add the “IT” factor and willingness to give it his all to win.

Go Broncos

The Problem that Tebow has just like anyone else is the fact that there was no practicing team drills in the offseason, which is a big setback. You can`t blame him for that.
Hey Fanin cleared waivers so he will go on injured reserve, that’s good because I really like him. Go Broncos~!!
To bad about Fannin. I was looking forward to seeing what he could do. At least, as Broncobet mentioned, we didn’t lose him, so maybe next year we can see what he has.
