Broncos Add Batiste to Practice Squad

December 23rd, 2009 - 9:19am by Zach Eisendrath

The Broncos on Wednesday signed fourth-year tackle D’Anthony Batiste to their practice squad. The spot became available when Tony Carter was moved to the 53-man active roster on Saturday.

Batiste has played in 12 games during his pro tenure, including eight outings this season with the Redskins.

The 6-foot-4, 314-pound tackle started the 2009 season with Washington and was inactive for the first four games before replacing Chris Samuels in the team’s game at Carolina during Week 5. He saw action in the team’s next seven contests before being waived on Dec. 15.

Batiste, a four-year letterman at Louisiana-Lafayette, entered the NFL in 2006 as a college free agent with Dallas. He has started four games on the pro circuit.

well…our Dline needs all the help it can get i guess. Although….a former redskin who wasn’t fit to be a starter doesn’t bode to well for helping our rush defense…..(Redskins are like 26 against the run)…no disrespect to Batiste…..I’m just saying lol

Here is the playoff senero for the broncos according to NFL.com:

Broncos clinch a playoff spot a win + losses by JAC (@ NE), MIA (home HOU), NYJ (@ IND) and PIT (home BAL).
    Broncos control their own destiny.

It is there, all the teams that the Broncos need to lose are playing tough opponents. the unknown is how the Broncos play, after last week against the Raiders, I do not have a lot of faith.

Well, I don’t think this will help us get that one yard on short yardage. LOL.

TRB, he is an offensive tackle, an offensive guard.

  5. TheRoyalBeast says:

Oh lol…they needed to be more specific baylin…lmao

Wow…and to think…if we had beat the raiders which we should have…this scenario of winning this week and them losing woulda been essentially pointless….it was a gimme….and we gave it to them

Altho I guess the picture and his number shoulda told me offensive tackle…It seems instead of playign to our Olines strengths (one of the best olines in the league especially when it comes to zone blocking) he is just gonna replace them with bigger guys that can run his power scheme….this Oline was great last year….now we can barely stop pressure on QB (altho Cutler was more mobile than Orton) and our running is all power and no creativity….our guys are not bigger than most defensive line men…we cant just power….anyway, im tired of talking about the same thing especially sicne its not liek the coaches are listening or anything….All i want them to do is go out and handle bizness. GO BRONCOS

We need to get it done in Philidephia period… If we don’t that 6-0 start has turned into a Shanahan-like collapse late in the season. This is turning into such a typical Denver Bronco season over the past few years.

The only nice thing is Jay Cutler stinks and the Bears keep losing so we will have a nice draft pick come April. Keep being a loser Jay!!!

    baylinorcrush,
lol, We can only hope it will give us that extra yard we seem to always need.

Release Herb Taylor, sign Batiste?….I’m glad Carter made the 53 man roster, he played well. I’m still not impressed with how Smith is playing twice now he has blown(ie tripped) when covering a receiver allowing a big play.

I think Eddie Royal is just as quick and fast as Jackson from Phili, and look at how he is being used. Royal should have just as many big plays.
