The Broncos on Monday officially announced the signing of free agent linebacker Akin Aydoele.
The ninth-year veteran has never missed a game in his career — one of three starting linebackers in the league to play in every game since 2002. He has started at least 11 games in each of the past seven seasons.
Ayodele played in Miami for the past two seasons — starting 15 of 16 games in 2009 — after playing for Dallas and Jacksonville.
In his career, he has played in 128 career games with 104 starts, amassing 834 tackles, 9.5 sacks, seven interceptions, 10 forced fumbles and 10 fumble recoveries.
He is the fifth defensive player to join the team since free agency began, not including the nine college free agents on the defensive side of the ball who agreed to terms with the team today.

I have a question for everyone. All the “experts” keep saying Josh got rid of a franchise QB in Cutler. My question is, What makes him a franchise QB?
Dont worry guys, I am sure that McD is even sniffing at this guy!! Number one, hes pretty old for a LB! Number two, he has HUGE character issues!!!
FORGET AB IT!
BRONCO COUNTRY BABY!
I am sure that McD isint even sniffing!!!!
Derrick…Cutler was SUPPOSED to be the Franchise QB,but we’ll never know, maybe he would’ve,maybe he wouldn’t,no sense worrying about it.I think a lot of analyst see McD turning into a bust, because he’s trying to hard to change the team to his liking,I was one of the 1st ones to bash the Hell outta McD for trading Cutler, but now I’m glad he’s gone, time to move on now.I can see that McD is trying really hard to make it as a great HC,a lot of the players have said that they like him,but that don’t mean he will make it.I hope for our team’s sake he makes it,because we need to be heading in the right direction.Hey if his plan works we will reap the benefits,if not we’ll get another coach, nothing is written in stone.Nobody is above improving, even the coaches(especially a young one) so I wouldn’t worry to much about what people are saying about McD,most analyst want to see the Broncos fail anyway,I don’t know why but it has always been that way ever since I can remember(been a fan for 28 years).
Mark Schlereth…(I’m sure I spelt his name wrong) actually likes the Tebow pick. I know he’s an ex bronco but he bashed the broncos for getting rid of Cutler.
sooo excited for the offseason i really really like syd quan thompson and perrish cox they both will get considerable minutes next year cox more so in return game but thompson is my second fav draft pick besides bay bay
but he’s super instinctive very quick and athletic and a ball hawk with good hands
and also wr from west virginia i forgot his name but hes a cfa
the guy is physical and great hands and deceptivly quick posibly 4th wr after bay bay deck and royal
but will be played.
eric decker possibly our 2 wide out was a steal because there was no way he should have fallen to us nht besides that he is a possesion reciever that runs similar routes like marshall
and last the LB from clemson has great upside, strongest guy on the team maxing out with 470 pound bench press and kinda quick but i see him at ILB making big plays
PLEASE COMMENT

Nice pick up with Ayodele and a fantastic draft! Cox and Thompson are great CB’s not to mention the other heat. No WR’s or OL in Free Agency so that made it even stronger. Great job boyz!!
I’m so excited I can hardly contain myself. I am so anxious to see training camp and OTAs to see the guys competing against one another. I am liking the CFA pickups. Hopefully a couple or few of those guys can be a diamond in the rough.
I think the top 3 in the Broncos organization that want to win would be:
Pat Bowlen
The Fans
The Players and coaches
I think that pretty much sums up everyone. I put the fans ahead of the players because if you’re like me a loss to me hurts more than it does to the players.
WHy the hell are we not going after Henderson!?!?!?!?!? 6-7 330lbs…going right to KC….i hope we get addaious thomas also!! cuz he would be sick with our new guys….our d with these two guys would dominate…..Williams and Henderson subbing for one another with fields in there too…Thomas/green/bannon on the ends. with a blend of young rookie FA dline talent we would have a great run stopping team with Akin,dj,doom, woodyard….please spend the cheese…cut BRADY!!
Yeah, and we don’t get paid either way, LMAO…
Ok, to satisfy OC’s curiosity, I say Martindale, Barone and Studesville want to win as much or more than anyone in the organization because they need to win as bad as anybody in the organization to keep their jobs. For those unfamiliar with some of these names, they are respectively the defensive coach, O line coach and running backs coach. Bowlen doesn’t need to win to keep his job, McDaniels job is probably secured for the length of his 4 year contract and all the players better want to win as bad as the guy sitting next to them, or get rid of them. Just my opinion.
I am really glad with the CFA signings we did, and I also like the pick-up of Ayodele. He should be good next to DJ. This is going to be an exciting year, I can already tell.
Yeah, but can he really yodel, LOL.
The yodeling Linebacker, I like that…
Brian, if as you say it’s worse for the fans to lose than for the players, and as I said it’s because unlike them whether we win or lose we don’t get paid so we may be looking more forward to winning than they do, it brings up an interesting point to my always working brains, LOL; why not including in every player’s contract a pay that is directly related to winning. Let’s say you have a base salary to start with which you will get no matter whether you win or lose, but after that it increases depending on the number of wins each season. I know they do reward certain players in their contract with personal production, but that is just to reach personal goals which might not necessarily always benefit the team a a whole, not to mention that many of the trench guys doing the hard labor usually don’t have such incentive clauses in their contracts.
I know it sounds pretty off the wall, and would be quite a task to implement, but I think that would definitely be a way for the league to assure themselves that they have only guys who give it their all, the league would be so much better for it, in essence there would be no more slackers, which I hate, getting paid millions of dollars and slacking off, don’t get me started here… Anyway, just a thought, everything stands to be improved, even the NFL.
…the team as a whole…
They should just have a clause in their contracts that say if you lose you’ll get roundhouse kicked in the face by Chuck Norris. LOL!
I’m just joking but yeah, you know they could do something like that. Then the argument would be well “we gave it our all and we still lost.” Or we gave it our all and then “Oh my God, Stokely down the sideline, Stokely at the 20, the 10, Touchdown!! 87 yards Stokely…WOW!” It just stinks as a fan sometimes. Players, we’ll we lost the game still get paid. Fans, they lost the game..your team sucks hahahahahaha Broncos suck, Chargers rule, Raiders all the way. That’s what I hear when I come in to work after a Bronco loss. I’m not even joking, I want to punch all them in the face.
I know what you mean, it was like that for me over the years in the jobs I held, but now that I’m kicking back, the bastards can’t get to me no more… and to think some people think there is nothing to look forward to about growing old, hahahaha.
So people are going to think I’m dumb, but what does “agree to terms” mean for CFA? Do they get a little money for trying to get on the roster or what exactly does that mean?
This is an answer I found on a blog site to the same question you have:
Depends on what they agree to. If a kid signs a free agent contract he must be paid the rookie minimum of 325,000 this year provided he makes the team. Or he can sign a tryout contract where he receives basically a per diem which in the off season generally speaking is 600.00 a week. Then there are the guys who dont sign but except a free agent tryout where the only thing the team does is pay the insurance in case the kid is hurt. These guys are given a 3 day “chance” to show what they have without compensation but after that they must either agree to the rookie contract or workout for another team. If they make the final roster they get the rookie minimum (325,000) or 1/16th of that in game checks based on them keeping their roster spot. If they sign with the practice sqaud they are to be paid 5,200.00 per week (just over 88,000 for the full season) with normal NFL insurance and buyout provisions should they get injured on the practice field.
I even live in Colorado and it’s like that after a loss people running there mouth.Well at least the day after it kinda dies down during the week depending on the severity of the loss.but for me I live and die with my team lol can’t wait till next February to either be really exited or crushed
Brady Quinn for QB in Denver 2010………And beyond
Can I be on the practice squad? LOL!!
Tim Tebow for QB in Denver 2011…..and beyond.
Brian, why dont you just hire Chuck Norris after a Broncos loss? Heck, you can hire him after a win too….
there could be escelators for the O-linemen easily. A few thousand for every pancake, based on the number of sacks allowed, holding penalties, 3rd/4th short conversion percentage…man we could see O-lineman contracts rival those of some WRs and QB’s. I like where the idea is headed baylin!!! lol
I see The Broncos doing better this year I see Brady Quinn as a starter I see Kyle Orton The back up Tebow getting alot of practice and use on the wild cat scheme but I may have it vise versa McD Likes Orton and I am Tired of all the analysis Dogging our Blue & Orange But How long have we been the Rodney Dangerfields of the NFL Remember everyone it took Elway time to come together they benched him the 3rd Game of the season but look how blessed we were . But I see Tim Tebow eventually being the starter by Late 2010 or early 2011 he has a bright future with the Broncos If anyone watched the the John Gruden Breakdown of QB’S he said the most person easy to coach out of Mccoy ,Bradford ,Lefevour Gruden said Tebow was a fast learner and coming from Gruden that is a good compliment. Look what McD did with Brady and Matt Cassel So if anyone can teach a QB Like Tebow McD Can So lets here it for the Bronco’s . I cant wait until the season Starts we are going to have a good year we just got to give it awhile
Baylin…LMFAO@ the 8:45 post,good one.
yea yea
ready for ota’s and training camp i can almost see thompson starting next year with some work wit champ and b-dawk
the guy is super, quick, instinctive, ball hawk, athletic just like earl thomas but thompson is probably faster. my fav defensive draft pick
and alric arnett is a beast might get considerable minutes at wide out , real physical, kinda quick, and great hands, also good route runner. i like our recieving core
bay bay decker royal and arnett. very hard to cover if spread out.
and last but not least demayrius thomas is a freak a nature like 6.4 200 plus with 4.5 speed almost unheard of .
that alone spells greatness i really think he is a special talent and will prove to be better than dez bryant even tho i like him so much
2010 LOOKS GOOD LETS GO BRONCOS
OK, fine, I’m an ass. I still don’t like McD’s demeanor…he comes across as cocky and arrogant, but time will tell. I have said since the moment he was hired, the upside is, he can groom QB’s….so let’s see. I like the Tebow pick because of the “intangibles”, and the rest of the draft was fantastic. McD doesn’t deserve all the credit. I’m in Browns, Steelers, and to some extent Bills country, and all I hear about Brady Quinn is that he didn’t have the supporting cast, and it was time to go in a different direction. Quinn’s #’s at ND were incredible, and he’s smart. I hope the competition is fair. Question….How can we long-term Bronco fans (1971), who had John Elway to watch, be satisfied with Kyle Orton. I don’t have a problem with arm strength or accuracy…but he’s a statue! Looking forward to the season, but nervous about QB
I been missing for a day or two i see you guys miss my opinions a bit. lol. Joking dont bash me. I would say Champ Tebow and Dawk. I love Champ he is my favorite player of all time and i try to model my game off of his play and he deserves it so does Dawk theyre time is running out tho. I love the CFAs honestly i might like them more than some our draft picks honestly
I hope Clady is okay!
love to read what all you arm chair QBs have to say. As usual no one has aclue of how the season will bring. Shut up and take what may happen. it will improve
