The Broncos on Monday officially announced the signing of free agent linebacker Akin Aydoele.
The ninth-year veteran has never missed a game in his career — one of three starting linebackers in the league to play in every game since 2002. He has started at least 11 games in each of the past seven seasons.
Ayodele played in Miami for the past two seasons — starting 15 of 16 games in 2009 — after playing for Dallas and Jacksonville.
In his career, he has played in 128 career games with 104 starts, amassing 834 tackles, 9.5 sacks, seven interceptions, 10 forced fumbles and 10 fumble recoveries.
He is the fifth defensive player to join the team since free agency began, not including the nine college free agents on the defensive side of the ball who agreed to terms with the team today.

Great pickup we will go far this year with these additions
any help at LB is great for 3-4 scheme…
I’m liking all the CFA pickups…19???WOW!!!!!! awesome, no doubt.. a lot of versatility…those who questioned why we didnt address a younger DL in the draft, just got answered by all the CFA pickups…some of them could be gems in the making…we found Chris Baker last year…do doubt a few of those names will be around..PLUs we got more versatility on the OL..2 more TEs…more than enough DB/CBs for depth competition..i belief we still got Tony Carter and Dominique Johnson from last year…this will be a good offseason’s competetion…
maybe the only place lacking is depth at RB..hopefully Buck and Know bring it next season..
Go Broncos 2010!!!!!!
hells yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow this show sportsnation whatever his name is on here says we have a 1 one out of 10 chance of winning wtf does he know???
There we go now thats what we needed a proven talent great pickup now lets hope one the CFAs will be a standout to help us defensively.
“experts” on espn NEVER give the broncos a chance. NEVER. they NEVER give any denver team respect actually..
Kyle McCarthy was signed out of Notre Dame. So excited about this pick up, he just flat makes plays. He was the heart of that Notre Dame defense and I hope he can make it on the squad and learn from Brian Dawkins.
I’m curious to see if and how Tony Baker might work out, if his knee holds up. Short, stocky and powerful… could be interesting.
Im glad we finally added a decent linbacker after not getting one in the draft. Hopfully Ayodele is an improvement from Andre Davis
Well sndvl.. I’ve always been McDish and I don’t bash anyone for not seeing things my way. I just bash the bloggers who bash my team. It’s easy enough for them to say “I don’t agree because” without using putrid names to call the coach just because they don’t agree with him. You might get a kick out of that kind of talk but I don’t.
As far as keeping a blacklist of the professional commentators that don’t believe in the Broncos. I just want to be able to look back in a couple years and see who all was wrong. It could be me?
I just think it is a lot easier for many bloggers to beetch and moan and predict doom and gloom and later if their wrong they can just act like they were on board all along. On the other hand it takes a lot more balls to say “I believe in this coach and this QB”..
As a true blue Bronco fan it is my duty to try and see the positive things there are to look forward to with my team. True Bronco fans don’t come to the Official Bronco Blog and call the coach schoolyard names and predict the team to be “Forever Doomed and Distroyed”..thats what the DP is for.. I think the players read these blogs and need to know that someone believes in them and in this team…
Maybe you’re mad at me for bumping heads with 1NYC??
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-huZvIfTRv4&NR=1 sorry fot that last defender xD..
Mr. Caldwell I think this is a great pickup for us,with Ayodele, the players we drafted, and all the CFA’s trying out,I think we will show a LOT of improvement next year,I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m ready for my Broncos to take their rightful seat utop the AFC West again.I think we will be a force, and make the playoffs for sure.IMO
#1NYC,
I absolutely agree with your 4:28pm comment!!!
Bronc On!!!!
ILMSDB!!!
glad to see all the cfa especially the west virginia wr and the LB From clemson super strong and might move him to ilb unless he’s fast But overall good job Mc-d
Dang Thomas released from NE. Already familiar with 3-4 and can be a great addition. Yes/No?
A whole swag of CFA signed just after the draft same as last year. Did we sign any from last years batch of try outs?
Yes OC, I agree with you!
I have always been the one to get very irritated when I get on these blogs and see people bashing the broncos, especially people who call themselves fans! If I want to see people bashing my team, I can go and watch Dukes or Kiper. It’s okay for you not to agree with something and share that disagreement that’s stating your opinion, but I wouldn’t call someone out on it and in any way talk down to my team!!!
That’s something that a Raiders fan would do in my opinion!
Lets go BRONCO COUNTRY!!!!!
samoanbronco,
yea I think we did sign a couple of those CFAs last year, most signed to PS..but we kept CHris Baker, Tony Carter, Dominique Johnson, Everrette Pedescleux with Baker and Carter remaining on active roster..we might keep a few this year..IMO
I would love to put a question out to all my fellow Bronco brothers and sisters.. My fam…..
Name the top Three People currently in the Denver Broncos organization that want to win the most??????
Probably…
Pat Bowlen
Josh McDaniels
Tim Tebow
Broncosfreak30…Thanks…
Bronc On!!!
I LOVE ME SOME DENVER BRONCOS!!!!
good question, orange_crusher.
I would venture to guess, Pat Bowlen, Brian Dawkins, and Josh McDaniels. Not necessarily in that order.
Hometeam007…
I know Tebow isin’t a starter, but I do know he HAS to be the one who wants to win the most on this team!! His desire for winning is unlike anys that ive ever seen before! But yea, I think there would have to be 4 top people and that would be..
Bowlen
McD
Dawk
Tebow
TEBOW
..
MCD
BOWLEN
DAWKINS
Them 4
Well I will give my 2 cents, there are a lot of guys on this team that still want to win VERY MUCH,I just don’t believe in naming names,it underminds the rest of the players(like they are not giving it their all).I will however agree Dawk and Tebow hate to lose, but to say 2 or 3 players want to win more than the rest of the team, isn’t right.Just one man’s opinion that don’t mean a Helluva lot.
I would definitely add Orton to that mix, but unless we get 53 of them , I don’t like our chances, LOL.
No one said that their were only 3 or 4, just the biggest names that shows the most emotion in wanting to win! I hope everyone wants to win on this team, and as of now, believe that everyone does!
Bowlen
Dawkins
Bailey
Bowlen is obvious. The last 2 need a ring, and time’s coming up for them.
McD, Tebow and many others still have time.
We are thinking along the same lines BFE, agreed, enough disention among the ranks of the fans without splitting them up more than they already are. I’m surprise OC would come up with a question like that, just to boost up his boy Tebow? That’s all I can figure. OC, all 53 players on the final roster better want to win as bad as the other guy, otherwise they shouln’t make that final cut anyway, that’s my answer.
Baylin agreed 100% bro.
I really want sndvl and #1NYC to give me their picks…… I’m waiting in eager anticipation….???
It’s just an opinion based question….
we all have one..that’s why we’re here..
How could you not be able to…. say… make a gander at the answers bro?
I didn’t say players… I said organization…
What I notice a lot at draft time and during free agency, is how the working for the betterment of the team as a team gets lost in the shuffle of caring strictly about all the individuals who are in the mix of making the team. I mean, regardless of what all the new Bronco players, drafted or free agents have done in the past, for the majority of them they haven’t proved one iota of anything about how they will fit into this team and McD’s system. This is what these next 4 months are all about, proving to the staff that you indeed can fit into what McD is trying to get done over here. I’m going to hold back my thoughts on all these new individuals until I can actually see how they fit in come September. I’m not going to annoint anyone king of the hill now, or say they absolutely stand no chance of making the team. The 90+ guys on the roster are here because they all have a legitimate shot at making the team, I think it’s absolutely great to see who will stand out through the next few months and who will fade out based solely on how they cope with being Denver Broncos. …
I hear you OC, just an opinion based question, and you saw how I responded to it, I gave you an opinion based answer by saying Orton should be one of those, but overall I think the question is too divisive for me or the team, sorry.
You don’t have to be a vocal leader to want to win,and a lot of good men are busting their balls for our team,so we can all be winners. Can you say T-E-A-M.
Do you guys think pikin up Adalius Thomas would be good. I dont know why the ravens didnt resign him but there must have been a reason – was it just that he got to expensive for them? I know hes not playing for NE anymore is cuz he didnt get along with Cheater but do you guys think hes a good pik up depending on how much we pay him obviously.
All I’ll say about Adalius Thomas is if Belichick had him in his doghouse, McD will want none of it, just my opinion.
So excited for training camp.
OC:
My three would have to be:
Bowlen
McDaniels
Tebow/Dawkins/Bailey
I say all three players want to win equally as much.
Cant wait for the new Madden to come out in August…
“Tebow will be the best trucking quarterback in ‘Madden’ this year,” Moore told ESPN.com. “He’s not the most elusive, but in terms of breaking tackles and power, he will be able to put down his shoulder and run over a few defenders. A lot of this is fluid, but right now in ‘Madden 11,’ we have Tebow at 80 speed and 92 acceleration. Trucking, carrying the ball, like I said, he’s going to be better than any quarterback coming into the league.”
I’m having a deja vu, LOL.
BF30
I hear ya on the madden front. I think this will be one of the first times I am playing madden with a left handed QB if i use tebow that is. Looking forward to the new madden alot and the new guys we acquired.
Im pretty certain everybody is in it to win. Nobodys goal is to lose. Im fairly sure nobodies goal is to have chart popping stats, if the resulting outcome is anything less than the W. We are all competitive by nature.
In any walk of life. Whether its landing that buisness deal, winning your Madden game, getting the most Easter eggs or winning a football game. Even in my daily walk of life, Im not setting my goal to get 2/3 IVs esablished, regardless of the patients outcome….there is a grander scheme of things.
So, McDaniels employs a similar vision. I understand that aspect. He is the one responsible for ensuring his vision is realized. And McD has done so using unconventional, controversial and idosyncratic methods. Hes done so over the course of a year and a half (barely), hence his unofficial nickname McChaos. While I respect his vision, I dont necessarily have to agree with EVERYTHING he has done. And for all his good decisions, hes made just as many questionable/head scratching/ down right ridiculous decisions (trash talking with a player. would his methodology be different if he was “puttin on the pads”?).
There is no telling where his vision will lead. Good or Bad; its 50-50 and only time will tell.
Like an article in the DP stated, “The best prediction for future behavior is past behavior” *or something to that effect* If thats the case, then a rational thinker (like myself) tells me we are a 2-8 team, with a lot of player turnover and some serious question marks at key positions. Not to mention a brutal schedule to look forward too! Hence my cautious optimism.
Like I responed to you before OC, I cant accept a wager with you if my winning means our team losing. Im not that type of fan. And I would like to restate my stance on “Seeing where McD takes this”…superbowl-great! couple losing seasons-well, not so great. Time shall be the final judge on that.
Orton-Prater-Champ (Since its the players that play, the coaches that coach and the owner that pays…) These three are what I consider to be true professionals. Though, Im sure we will have 53 players that want to win the most.
One more thing. If it doesnt work out, McD’s plan, Im also not the type who will say- na na na na na naaa, told you so…..
Hey guys, just that that Tebow’s Broncos jersey is the NUMBER ONE jersey selling right now!!! And they said they should rapidly increase.
NFL Network also said that Tebow is helping Jacksonville by boosting ticket sales due to us playing them in the first game, they said they have received thousands of calls for tickets!!
I love this guy!
1. bowlen
2. Mcd
3. dawkins
4. tebow
tim tebow=starting qb in 2011
Plus if yall didn’t know,
Tebow is on the new NCAA Football 11 game cover coming out in July!!
I don’t know about anyone else but I’m not feeling the whole Adalius Thomas vibe…just something that makes me wants us to stay away from signing him. I just realized how long it is till the start of the season. Mayne
i think we should stay away from Adalius thomas……. if he couldnt get along with belichek he’ll never get along with mcd
