    Angrybronco,

I feel you, believe me if anybody hears you I do…However, do not say things like “you Bet you’re Life over”: anything, and all…. such things, whatever they may be! There is power in speech, even unto the slightests of words! Do not Summon the confidence of speaking things into fruition over such folly!

For Your sake, I retract your statement…in fact, I Rebuke It!!!

Young Cutler will do well for the Bears with future NFC Divisional Titles, and perhaps an NFC Championship….But Denver will most certainly NOT TANK, as you say!!

One point of interest, if I remember right Shanahan is from the Chicago area also, wonder if he will end up there with Cutler?
When the most respected talent evaluator in the world of NFL football, Mike Mayock, says somebody is an amazing talent , I listen. Whether you like him or not, Cutler is a rare talent in the NFL so quit bashing him and move on, the deal is done and you don’t have to worry about him any more. For those of you who continue run this onto the ground , your behavior isn’t any better that the person you are commenting about. Let’s talk about the draft and where we should go with all those great picks we aquired. I kind of like the idea of maybe being able to get two of the USC linebackers, wondr if they will all go in the fist round. I’m still HIGH a Raji, hope he falls to us at 12. I’d also like to see us draft a running back, I don’t like all the old guys we got lined up at that position and have always felt younger players are best in the backfield with the physical demands of that position.

  14. G funk says:

I think it would be a great idea for denver to go for two D players because i think orton is going to surprise some people this year. he that type of player. who do you guys think they should get as a third round player I dont mean names just position

  15. royalbroncofan1 says:

No problem Monodono – I found it interesting. Brighter days are ahead of us for sure! :-)

  16. blum says:

With the draft only 20 days away I hope this what they do

    12th maualunga
    18th jackson
    48th brace
    79th swift
Thats as far as I’ve gotten so far

    GO BRONCOS

  17. aSharpeIdea_84 says:

cutler6101 – OK, maybe I give McD too much credit for the 3 rings but most people on here aren’t giving him enough if any. The fact is he was the O coordinator in NE and also coached the QB’s. Most teams have separate coaches for each. Cassel’s success is totally McD’s credit and they went 11-5. That’s gotta say something!

So, it IS significant what McD did in NE, regardless of what we think of Belichick. McD also learned from his dad who is a great coach I have heard. Hey, the it’s in the kids blood and it’s all he knows.

Anybody making statements that the Broncos are going to tank because Cutler isn’t here just really doesn’t have a clue and obviously doesn’t really understand the game of football. In fact, it’s so ridiculous it doesn’t even deserve a rebuttal anymore.

The truth is we won’t really know if all of this change brought on by Bowlen is good for Denver until November and December. Everyone is going to have to wait and see. So you can either scream the sky is falling, or you can believe the Broncos will win the Super Bowl in February. I can NEVER remember the Broncos having a 4-12 season. 8-8 is a bad year here.

Why not be positive? It feels so much better, in life too, but staying real as well there really is no solid evidence to say the Broncos are going to suck. I will hope for the best.

I hope everyone on here has a chance to see this article especially if you’re still grieving the loss of Cutler.

  18. thatdude807 says:

12th Cushing or Maualuga 18th Tyson Jackson if he’s there 48th Ron Brace is a must pick 79th Eric Wood or Shonn Greene 84th Shonn Greene or Kevin Barnes That’s a good draft….

  19. mrbroncofan says:

as i have thought about this more and more i think they should pick up a rb at that 18th pick. orton will do good. a lot better than some people think. if we were to pick up say moreno we add a new dimension to the offense. hillis could pound the defense. moreno could run around the defense and orton can get the ball to royal and marshall. anyway a combination like that can win more games than cutler alone which is what it will be like for him in chicago. he will be all alone. that is just what i’m thinkin. we sure can use some d though so i wouldn’t mind seein both 1st round picks spents on d. steve wyche at nfl.com has us takin raji at 12 and james lauranaitis at 18. i think that could be a good combo. lauranaitis has been compared to urlacher. that is a hell of a lb. it seems that no matter what we choose we are going to better ourself greatly.

here is a link for you to check out moreno

Great article Asharpeidea…. i always suspected his attitude was funny, like he has no passion for the game, like he’s just paying to make his while he’s in the NFL…. if u ever watch him on the sidelines he is by himself most of the time(THAT’S NOT A LEADER)…. and McD saw enough to say we are better off without him i’m changing my name to McCLEVER! yeah

  21. kase78matt says:

how bout this its a long shot but id love to see it. since the patriots were gunna get peppers for a 34th overall pick how bout we give up our 18th and get him

  22. TheRoyalBeast says:

Imready – In case you havent notice, at the top right of the page, there’s a link to the blog about cutler going to the bears. People either don’t know or just chose to stay commenting on this blog.

I refuse to believe that Broncos are gonna TANK but I don’t however see us winning our division but I pray we do. All im saying is if McD goes 8-8 or less he should be fired cuz thats what shanahan was fired for.

Skill wise there are not many like cutler (his arm, his scrambling and judgment), he has only been playing for 2 and a half seasons and has improved every year….this year with us would have been much better than last and last year was amazing minus interceptions.

No QB we are looking at has the skill cutler does so we might as well stick with the above avg Orton that we have. I believe he can do good enough especially with the weapons we have. His judgment is seriously lacking sometimes and he can’t put that zing behind the pass cutler used to put

Anyway I will always be a cutler fan and wish him all the best in Chicago.

I say we go all defense in drafts and hope for the best. all we need is to get back to our ground game and just have Orton MANAGE the game and we are straight.

PS: Still think McD is a Douche till he proves otherwise

    ORANGE CRUSH ALL DAY!!!
    GO BRONCOS!!!

  23. royalbroncofan1 says:

aSharpIdea_84… thanks for the link….this is a good article.
Just realized that our former QB #6 (Cutler) could eventually be replaced with a new # 6 (Sanchez). (If drafted, provided he decided to keep the same # and groomed for the position).

  24. NxtYrNvrArrives says:

royalbroncofan1, I hope so!!! Mark Sanchez, the future of the franchise that we all know as the Denver Broncos! #6, but this time for keeps! If that is not the outcome after the draft, I will be pretty disappointed, actually. I can only hope…

  25. NxtYrNvrArrives says:

We all know in Bronco land that the Bears obviously got the better deal, no question. Kyle Orton? It was kind of like this: The Bears – “We will give you three draft picks, oh yeah, and we’ll throw in Kyle Orton, just to sweeten it up a little bit…” Kyle Orton has had a little success, and so has Chris Simms, but we know that neither of them are the long term answer to Bowlen’s undoing of the Broncos by setting the whole thing in motion by first firing Shanahan and then letting Cutler go. We need a franchise guy, and we need to get him in the draft. Mark Sanchez is that guy, and we have got to go get him.

  26. NxtYrNvrArrives says:

No more mediocrity. I am ready for Denver to make a playoff run again, and McD can put this whole thing behind him by starting with a clean slate in Sanchez and building the team’s faith up again around Sanchez. This guy seems like a very affable guy and I think he is a great player who is coming from a great program at USC and I think he can be THE guy.

  27. thatdude807 says:

Just read that Beanie Wells is visiting denver & the broncos had a PRIVATE WORKOUT WITH HIM….

  28. royalbroncofan1 says:

NxtYrNvrArrives: cool name !!! Yeah I was watching some clips of Sanchez and realized he wears #6 as well. Orton could work out – never know, but it would be nice if we could p/u Sanchez. He’s big, strong and comes from that pro style offense @ USC. His quick release reminds me somewhat of Marino.

  29. JaZzyFrIzZlE says:

You know, I think Orton seems like a great fit for Denver, the fact that the day after the trade, he already was in the playbook is pretty huge, and the fact that he doesnt want the QB job just handed to him, but he wants to earn it, just shows that he is a team player, and if he loses the job to simms, then he is fine with that, he just wants to win. That is what we need, and do i remember reading monodono posting a comparison of redzone % showing orton being much more effective than cutler?

And just in reference to this:

    Cutler6101:
but one thing I do not care for is ppl saying mcd has 3 sb rings in 4 years,

Well, i don’t think its fair to say because he was just as much part of the team as anyone on the team and he does have 3 rings in 4 years, so he knows what it means to be part of a team that has been not only winning rings, but also they have been in the playoffs at least with a shot at getting a ring for a lot of years in a row. He is not fully responsible for them winning, true. But neither is Belicheck, nor is brady, or any single person, but the team as a whole won it. I think you get my point.

So lets hope for the best in the draft and if we get at least 3 or 4 impact players, dont be surprised if we make a run at the division. If we win that then its anyone’s game when the playoffs start. Cardinals are a prime example. and the steelers did it a few 3 or 4 years ago.

  30. JaZzyFrIzZlE says:

    and cutler#1

jay didn’t want to be here, so jay was the one treating the fans like crap. If he cared about us or his teammates, then he would have been a man and shown up to the facility a few weeks ago, instead, he basically told us all to screw ourselves and moved on. So go ahead and dont go to anymore games, thats fine. But you sound like more of a cutler fan than a broncos fan. So here is the link:

    http://www.nflshop.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3509738&cp=&sr=1&kw=cutler&origkw=cutler&parentPage=search

Go buy a cutler jersey and get over it. I will trust bowlen over cook and cutt, any day, they are on record now as liers and that is all there is to it.

  31. JaZzyFrIzZlE says:

this is a must read but make sure you click on the “whole argument” link at the bottom of the page when you finish the article. But this is a huge reason why i am quickly ready to as some people put it “jump on the bandwagon” of our new coach and QB and direction as a whole. And just a worthy note before i put this link on: I noticed that the bears offense under orton last year scored more points than the broncos did with cutler by a score of 375-370. So who says we are taking a step back? The QB is responsible for scoring points for the team and giving the D a chance to win…… Here is the link:

    http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/04/05/just-the-facts-the-cold-ones-on-cutler/

  32. cutler6101 says:

ok i havent changed my name either and dont have time right now and have better things to do….I just wish you guys would come in here and not worry about someone you don’t even know!!!! yeah jazzyfrizzle he was there and got the rinds for being there…..he helped but like I was trying to say if he wasn’t there they still would have did what they did…and no I didn’t see him catch a td pass…..Bill Belichik’s team through and through…I live one hour from boston…in chatham and no he was not the reason nowhere close to why they won…the credit goes to the head coach….bill doesn’t let his asst. make decisions….and also denver will not be having alot of press conferences throughout his time here it will be ran similar to ne and I have seen mcd in boston and he isn’t what ppl think he is (giving to much credit to a guy with a small part) I do believe however that he has what it takes…..I never said that he wasn’t but he sure doesn’t deserve to be talked about in the manner of him having 3 sb rings and stuff because in his new job he has no experience in it and NO sb rings as a head coach…….

  33. DDenver says:

J-cutler suck!! it was a good trade to the bears. He will suffer in Chicago with no weapons. He will cry his way out of chicago because the coach will hurt his little feelings. The coach is going to yell at him at practice and he will cry to his agent and maybe his mom and he will stay home and not come to practice anymore

  34. BradJamesBroncoFan says:

To quote one of my heroes, Rick Pitino, (with some interpolations), to Jay Cutler: Jay, Brandon Marshall ain’t walkin’ through that door, Ryan Clady ain’t walkin’ through that door (uh oh, Jay, you might get pressure in Chicago both on the field and off). As for Orton, let’s give him a shot. As always, GO BRONCOS!!! McDaniels knows he has to win, so win he shall.

  35. kase78matt says:

cutler#1 jay is no better than jake plummer they both b****ed bout the coach and got traded just as ull c with orton this year u put a qb in a qb friendly scheme surround him with tallanted wrs and only allow him to be sacked MAYBE once a game he can be a pro bowler. im not taken talent props from cutler he still has the strongest arm in football. DEnver made cutler good not vise versa

  36. monodono says:

JaZzyFrIzZlE, Thanks for the link. I particularly liked these comparisons,

    Consider Team A. It averaged:
    411.2 yards per game
    295.7 passing yards per game
    115.6 rushing yards per game
An inspiring 6.22 yards per offensive play over the course of an entire season.
Now Consider Team B. It averaged:
    395.8 yards per game
    279.4 passing yards per game
    116.4 rushing yards per game
An inspiring 6.21 yards per offensive play over the course of an entire season.
Given the highly comparable offensive numbers – a slight but hardly significant edge to Team A in most categories – you’d assume that Team A was slightly more productive on offense than Team B, but not by much. After all, each snap by each team yielded nearly the same exact gain of 6.2 yards.

We’d make that same assumption, too.

But both of us would be wrong.

Team A is the 16-0 Patriots of 2007 – who scored an NFL-record 589 points (36.8 PPG), the second-highest per-game average in the entire history of the league (1950 Rams, 38.8 PPG).

Team B is the 8-8 Broncos of 2008 – who scored a paltry 370 points (23.1), barely ranking in the top half of the league last year (16th).

That’s right: the 2008 Broncos moved the ball up and down the field nearly as well as the offense many consider the greatest in the history of the game. On a per-play basis, the 2007 Patriots and 2008 Broncos were statistical equals.

But when it came to the two results that actually mattered – turning those yards into points and victories – the two teams could not have been more different. The 2007 Patriots boasted twice as many victories and outscored the 2008 Broncos by better than two touchdowns per game.

The 2008 Broncos, in other words, were an extraordinarily inefficient offense.

    TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !

    GO BRONCOS ! ! !

  37. monodono says:

  38. thatdude807 says:

Monodono- u can’t explain nothing to Cutler#1 or Cutler6101 they don’t see the big pic…. McCLEVER is trying to win NOW.. not 3 to 5 years from now, all these draft picks will make our team better… He new we had to many holes to fill – why do u think the Patriots stay on top all the time, draft picks & drafting the right players- i’m going to remember all of ya’ll that was bad mouthing him when we are winning this season

  39. JaZzyFrIzZlE says:

    cutler#1,
It sounds like you either have not followed the situation very closely or like you have selective hearing. Pat never did try trading cutler until last tuesday. Nor did the coach. He was simply contacted by other teams, they offered, he considered, and he said no. Now on the flip side, cutler got his feelings hurt because the coach said he will do what pat bowlen has told him to do which is to do the duties of a head coach. one of those duties is to listen to every trade offer and make a decision to see if it will benefit the team. Thats all he did and contrary to the nets rumors, he did say no, and cassel went to KC, yay! To your ? about pat telling jay he was the man…. He was the man until he started acting like a girl. When you start to cry about a rumor and throw a hissy fit by putting your house for sale…. he didnt want to be here from the day mike s got fired. He made that clear in his first interview from chicago when he refused to answer the question, “did you request to be traded after shanahan left?” It would have been a simple “no” if this were not true. So I will trust pat any day over a cutler, who requests a trade, and then gets traded and comes out saying…. i never wanted to be traded, i didnt want it to happen this way.

    And to cutler6101:
I have agreed with you that mcd was not responsible for the 3 rings. my arguement is that he does have three rings.

    part of yours was quote:

“but one thing I do not care for is ppl saying mcd has 3 sb rings in 4 years”

which is not true, he does have 3 rings. Lets see if he can carry the stuff he learned when he was in NE when he and all the coaches, and all the players won their rings. thats all.

  40. JaZzyFrIzZlE says:

    monodono and thatdude807,

i am glad you guys can see the big pic, and thanks for pasting that whole section on your post. So lets turn those yards into points…. not turnovers, or three in outs. And as monodono says every time…….
TIME OF POSSESSION indeed. I believe we lead in that category what 3 out of 16 times last year.

    And yes,
Welcome to the age of ORTON!!!

Talk is cheep! statistics are writings on the wall, winning games on the field is fact. Lets gat on with the season. The games played will show the truth, not arguing back and forth. We who know, know and those who dream sleep. Lets go get some d players in the draft! Lets go win the super bowl. Has any one seen the super bowl logo for next year????? Colors are Navy blue and orange.? Makes you wonder. Lets talk about that!

  45. broncbeat says:

Could it be destany? I think it would be awsome to have those colors and us being there in the sb. I do not want it to be us vs Chicago though. People will call it the navy orange bowl. Plus the worse they do the better are draft pick next year and I COULD NOT HANDLE MORE TALK OF THE TRADE WHILE THE SB WOULD BE ON. So even though I want us there, I do not want chicago there. Man, I got over this but some people just cant!

  46. broncbeat says:

Its like a cancer! Here I am talking about sb colors and BAM its shadowed by this! Lets talk football here….. BRONCOS BRONCOS BRONCOS BRONCOS BRONCOS BRONCOS…………………..!

  47. broncbeat says:

If you would like to see the logo, go to yahoo or google and type SUPER BOWL 44 LOGO. This is cool!

  48. broncbeat says:

    Am I alone……….Were is everyone!………Arbys!lol

  49. gary bronc says:

Like many fellow bronco fans im going to miss shanahan and cutler but we gotta move on. One guy is not the team so farewell cutler and good luck with chicago’s O-line lol. Now I think we should pull for Sanchez or do one better and trade for brady quinn as long as we don’t give up too much. But worst case scenario there’s some decent starters in Chris Simms and Kyle Orton but I’d still rather have a Brady Quinn.

I like are newly acquired free agents. They add some depth to our lacking secondary and because of this i think we should get a MLB first round and a NT and as for the QB situation we should trade next years first and 3rd for quinn.

Laurinitis would look good along side big D.J.

  50. Broncs55 says:

I agree Gary Bronc – move on. True fans are about the team, not individual players!

With that said, we have a #12 and a #18 draft pick. Some analysts say we’re gonna take those two draft picks and trade them for #3 KC to get either Sanchez or Stafford.

My question is why? They are underclassmen to begin with – what a risk. A risk with a huge salary for one of those two players does not make sense.

We could trade the #18 pick and get Brady Quinn – that would make more sense!

I do like Orton – he is humble, down to earth, and an overall good QB that just wants to win. I’m not sure what type of QB he will turn out to be in Denver tho. Simms, although good, has problems that could easily be career ending if he gets smacked the right way.

I say get Quinn with a trade for the #18 draft. Groom him for a year and let Orton take the reigns.

Then Orton and Quinn can compete for the starting position!

    Just my thoughts.
