I think having a defensive minded coach like Fox will keep the Broncos in some close winnable games this year. Nice pick with Pressley from the Colts as our DT. Now we have Elvis and Pressley on our front defensive line.

Aaron Maybin was a 1st rd draft choice for Buffalo in 2009, not a project. They high expectations for him in Western NY.
He came from the school of Linebackers... Penn State.
He was selected in the first round, 11th overall in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. He is regarded by many Bills fans as the worst draft pick in franchise history.
Maybin was selected right before the Broncos selected Knowshon Moreno with the 12 overall pick.

I agree..........why pick up players that bad teams don't even want. And picking up players with former injuries is even riskier. I'd take my chances with what we already have then waste money on players who won't make a difference.

I wish we could have this approach with our QQ:

It's John Beck's turn as Redskins starting QB. He starts Washington's next preseason game.

When players are let go from top teams I'm inclined to look, but when it's from teams basically as bad as us, Cinci and Buffalo, it's hard to get excited.

Here's what Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix had to say upon Maybin's release:

"I don't know what scheme he fits at that size, unless you're a strong safety or something," said Nix. "He says it's his metabolism and maybe that's what it is, but he couldn't hold weight. He was 250 when we saw him at the combine and he was 228 this fall. Now he goes up and down some, but not very high."

So, who's in the market for a 228-lb. non-pass-rushing pass rusher with a metabolism problem? Anyone? Anyone?

About Tank, like Brian asked, more damaged goods:

He started 13 games for the Bengals in 2009 and had 29 tackles and two sacks. However, he injured his knee against the Miami Dolphins last Oct. 31 and was placed on injured reserve after starting the first seven games of 2010 season.

The scary part is are we as fans that desperate, I hope Fox isn't....

The New CBA Rule does not help these players Not get injured. It was put in Place to give Players Longer Careers in the NFL. Which kinda Contradicts itself because...No 2 a days, and Non contact, no padded practices does not help players ready there bodies for games. The only people it really helps is the veteran players. Rookies or players from 1-3 yrs. in the league should still have to participate in 2 a days, and padded practices.
