The Broncos were assigned linebacker Alvin Bowen from Jacksonville via waivers Monday.
Bowen was originally drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 2008, but missed his rookie season after being placed on injured reserve due to an injury in training camp.
Since then, he has seen time with the Washington Redskins, Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars. In his career, Bowen has a tackle in two games played.

Basically lost the two starting DTs in a single swipe, sigh!
And Thomas is not even a sure thing for the season opener, I can see the Raiders salivating at the prospect of running it down our throats, here is hoping Bunkley is more than what he is advertised and Vickerson regains the 25 lbs he lost, LOL.
What is the deal with us aquring injury prone players? Seems like a guy has an injury and we think he’s recovered then we sign him and he gets hurt right away. I don’t know why we keep doing it but I think we need to stop.
Totally different injury though, freak thing, but I get your point for the likes of Demaryius.
Isn’t the pectoral tear what set Dumervil out last season? Do they think that it would be wise to put of surgery?
I’m dumb don’t listen to me read wrong.
Haha, Thomas is pectoral like Doom, but just a sprain, Warren is triceps tear, different animal.
Brutal news………we really need this team to be firing on all cylinders to start the season if we have any chance at all. These injuries are disturbing and we haven’t even played meaningful games yet. Hopefully they’ll be all out of the way and we’ll stay relatively healthy for the remainder of the season.
These new CBA rules are suppose to help reduce these injuries I thought….Liars!
Injuries is always part of the game, every single season, it’s more like how you are set up to deal with it that makes the difference and unfortunately with the little experience most of our depth have we will be hurting there.
Funny… It’s just because the players are lazy, that’s all that was for, injuries will happen no matter what….
I know, just seems like we can’t catch a break. Guess we’ll be throwing some young guns into the fire and see what happens.
hey bay………just curious as to where your handle comes from? I’m assuming brian’s name is brian? lol
The hometown kid never got a chance to play for the hometown team.
The Broncos released running back LenDale White this morning.

The Packers won the 2010 NFL title despite having a league-high 15 players on injured reserve at the end of the season.
Now, that’s not catching a break, how do you guys think we would do with having 15 final roster players on IR? Just saying.
Does the phrase “Not a chance in hell” come to mind bay?
Then I was right, I really didn’t think White looked good last game regardless of how supportive of him rbf1 was trying to be, sorry to hear that. Another position of real need we are getting thinner at….
Yeah, I can never come up with good handles. I’m probably the only on here that uses my name. haha
Yeah, just like I thought he never looked recovered from the achilles tear:
He reported to this year’s training camp in good shape at 230 pounds, but regaining the necessary burst from an Achilles injury takes time. White rushed for 10 yards on four carries in the preseason opener at Dallas last Thursday.
I am not giving up on our team for the fact that last year with the worst D in the league in running, we held the Chiefs to under 100 yards rushing I think twice, and we held CJ2K under 100 yards. Also would like to point out we almost won to one of the conference championship contenders, only losing in the final minutes by a fumbled snap. (Orton hears a boo?). So I think we have the ability when the game plan is good which our form staff had no idea how to do.
Yeah, the Packers really showed that with depth and guys stepping up thier play, you can still get it done. But without Rodgers at the helm, I believe it would’ve all fallen apart. He is the glue of that team.
Like you guys were talking earlier. This is another injury victim. To bad.
Mine, easy, I own a Bayliner boat and it is christened the “Orange Crush”. BAYLIN-OR-CRUSH.
Can we expect similar results from Thomas and his achilies injury?
I said all off season we need to trade Demaryius, so that tells you what I think, achilles or not he is made out of glass and we should take whatever value there is left for him now.
Well, we’ve had better days Broncos news wise!
Lendale White released by Denver Broncos – DP
The hometown kid never got a chance to play for the hometown team.
The Broncos released running back LenDale White this morning.
White, 26, was a prep star at both Denver South and Chatfield High School before he became a standout at USC where he joined Heisman Trophy winners Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush in the same backfield.
Drafted in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans, White rushed for 15 touchdowns in 2008 but his career has since tumbled. Chris Johnson became the Titans’ featured back in 2009 and White was traded to Seattle in 2010. Released by the Seahawks, White signed with the Broncos but suffered an Achilles tear in the team’s final preseason game at Minnesota and missed the entire season.
He reported to this year’s training camp in good shape at 230 pounds, but regaining the necessary burst from an Achilles injury takes time. White rushed for 10 yards on four carries in the preseason opener at Dallas last Thursday.

So why did we not release Ball? I thought White did better, Ball kinda just ran into defenders.
Because for now Ball is healthy and White is not and we don’t have enough backs to afford to cut anymore than we have to.
Oh well I tried…. lol.
White obviously was not making the grade.
Yeah, sometimes I sound like hard about players up front but it’s just the way I roll, White did not look like himself.
Does this mean Johnson makes the team ha
Yeah, haha, but on merit alone looks like, not really the case with Ball, specially catching the ball, that guy couldn’t catch a cold!
White looked like had speed, but didn’t make any cuts mikey. Had hope for him but he’s history now.
If we all remember back a couple of months ago we entered a discussion about the lockout and injuries. Not to mention some of the most ridiculous practice rules I have ever heard of in this new cba. I don’t know if this injury train is going to slow down for us or not.
Too bad there isn’t a setting to turn injuries “off” like in Madden LOL!
Bummer news about Warren. I hope it`s only about half the season. A tricep tear is not good. As for Lendale White A long shot anyway with a new HC in Fox. The beat goes on.
I think Johnson has a good shot to make the team. I like him.
The bengals has released Tank Johnson. Maybe we can bring him in to help out at DT.
Didn’t he have a season ending knee injury a few seasons ago? We pick guys up that have had major injuries in the past and this is what happens.
What do you guys think about Maybin at OLB, the bills released him.
yea tank johnson seems like the best bet out there right now
i would like to see us get maybin just his weight kinda concernes me on because they said he was suppose to be getting stronger and then he reports 20 pounds lighter and looks weaker
He was a project for the Bills but I guess they got tired of waiting for him to develope.
The New CBA Rule does not help these players Not get injured. It was put in Place to give Players Longer Careers in the NFL. Which kinda Contradicts itself because…No 2 a days, and Non contact, no padded practices does not help players ready there bodies for games. The only people it really helps is the veteran players. Rookies or players from 1-3 yrs. in the league should still have to participate in 2 a days, and padded practices.
When players are let go from top teams I’m inclined to look, but when it’s from teams basically as bad as us, Cinci and Buffalo, it’s hard to get excited.
Here’s what Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix had to say upon Maybin’s release:
“I don’t know what scheme he fits at that size, unless you’re a strong safety or something,” said Nix. “He says it’s his metabolism and maybe that’s what it is, but he couldn’t hold weight. He was 250 when we saw him at the combine and he was 228 this fall. Now he goes up and down some, but not very high.”
So, who’s in the market for a 228-lb. non-pass-rushing pass rusher with a metabolism problem? Anyone? Anyone?
About Tank, like Brian asked, more damaged goods:
He started 13 games for the Bengals in 2009 and had 29 tackles and two sacks. However, he injured his knee against the Miami Dolphins last Oct. 31 and was placed on injured reserve after starting the first seven games of 2010 season.
The scary part is are we as fans that desperate, I hope Fox isn’t….
I wish we could have this approach with our QQ:
It’s John Beck’s turn as Redskins starting QB. He starts Washington’s next preseason game.
I agree……….why pick up players that bad teams don’t even want. And picking up players with former injuries is even riskier. I’d take my chances with what we already have then waste money on players who won’t make a difference.
Aaron Maybin was a 1st rd draft choice for Buffalo in 2009, not a project. They high expectations for him in Western NY.
He came from the school of Linebackers… Penn State.
He was selected in the first round, 11th overall in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. He is regarded by many Bills fans as the worst draft pick in franchise history.
Maybin was selected right before the Broncos selected Knowshon Moreno with the 12 overall pick.
That makes Moreno look all world, LOL.
LOL!!
I think having a defensive minded coach like Fox will keep the Broncos in some close winnable games this year. Nice pick with Pressley from the Colts as our DT. Now we have Elvis and Pressley on our front defensive line.
