The first of the Broncos’ 2012 NFL Draft picks has signed with the team.
Cornerback Omar Bolden, drafted in the fourth round, put pen to paper on Thursday.
Selected at pick No. 101 overall, Bolden amassed 138 total tackles, five tackles for loss, 21 pass breakups and seven interceptions in his career at Arizona State.
In addition, he accumulated 523 return yards, including two touchdowns — one of which was a 97-yarder in 2010.
Bolden did not play last season due to an ACL injury, but was still named a team captain, and earned a Hard Hat award for his work in the team’s offseason strength and conditioning program.
In 2010, Bolden was one of only four unanimous selections to the All-Pac-10 First-Team, chosen by the conference’s coaches.
The four-year starter for the Sun Devils appeared in 41 games in his career.
“This is all exciting for me,” Bolden said during the club’s rookie minicamp. “I really love this game. Just to have the opportunity to be out here and play in the NFL and for the Broncos, it’s an amazing opportunity.”

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
i’ve watched a few games this guy was in and he looks really good. some guys just look like they belong in a football game and he is one of them. great size and body control. tackles well and he does return well but i dont know if you want your elite corner returning kicks. he and wolf will be great for us for sure and if oz pans out, we did quite well in this draft.
Auryte! one down…. we certainly have a promising young DB core for the future. this kid being named captain speaks a lot. i have no ‘perrish cox’ fears now….
Here is an awesome article from bleacherreport.com on Bolden! Apparently he is surprising a lot of people in camp!!

Yea just the way he carries himself shows me that he isn’t “Perrish Cox” type. Plus he went in the 4th round just because he didn’t play last year. He was being talked about going in the 1st round the year before. If he had off the field issues, along with not playing last year, he wouldn’t have gotten drafted this year. Cox had 1st round talent but dropped to the 5th due to off the field issues. Omar is definitely a stand up type of guy and I think he could come out and dominate this year!!!
agreed bf30
Guys like Vaughn and Thompson could be in trouble. We will have plenty of DB’s this year, that’s for sure. I think Bolden really compete with Florence for the starting nickel CB position! It will be an AWESOME competition between DB’s and WR’s this camp, that’s for sure!
Also, didn’t know this, but Bolden led all defensive backs in the combine with 24 reps for the 225 pound bench press!! That is very impressive considering there are some TE’s and DL that didn’t even do that many!! He will be a very physical corner. I see him having the sure type of tackling that Champ has!!! If Bolden stays healthy, he will be a huge steal!!
This is a great list, if you’re a Broncos fan….

Glad we inked Bolden! I agree that this kid will be a legit CB for years to come. We have two stud Sun Devils learning from the best in the business..
Saw that list earlier, OT, and yeah, if you’re a Broncos fan, it’s a pretty good list. However, I can’t stand Colin Cowherd, and I rarely agree with his points of view. He seems to be the kind of guy who would (excuse me, please) fart in the bath tub and then bite the bubbles when they came to the surface.
In other words, I don’t put much stock in his lists, or his opinions, and no longer waste time watching him run his mouth on his show. I feel sure there are those who hang on to his every word, but IMO, he seems to enjoy listening to the sound of his voice too much.
Well, sounds like someone has a case of potty mouth… Lol. Trust me, you’re not breaking my heart Tide. I never listen to Cowherd.. I prefer the local radio guys out here, eventhough there is an emphasis on NY sports, but they do a really job IMO. However, I’ve seen Colin a few times on espn, and I’m not very impressed.. He seems pretty full of himself, but I did like that list I posted..
Btw, my comment didn’t go through first time around, so I had to tone it down and retype it, and went with “full of himself” this time…
Congrats to #80! Hot Rod…
Congrats !!! Real good look right there!! DYNASTY in the making!!
Future looks bright for the BRONCOS!! #BroncoCountry 4 life!!!!
Nice. Bolden was considered one of the best value picks. Glad we got him. Hope he isn’t another perrish cox. A late round talent that dissapoints. Cox didn’t really have off the field issues, just curfew issues. But I am pretty sure they made sure not to get another piece of trash. Looking forward to Bolden. Didn’t think we needed florence but They are gearing up for passers, and the way the league passes these days, we might need to sub CBs in and out to keep em fresher. Champ, Porter, Florence, Chris Harris, Bolden. Should be great. Especially like the fact that Porter, Harris and Bolden are young. Count vaughn and Syd and CB shouldn’t be a prob for a while. Didn’t know he was a sundevil. Guess he came here with his buddy Osweiler.

Great, now we actually have a decent Secondary, lookout Vaughn and Sid!\
BFE
yea they signed 2 starting corners 2 go along with champ also. now we 3 deep baby. add bolden and harris we got depth. with wolfe and jackson at tackle we aint got 2 worry bout brady or anyone else
moreno is one of the best recieving backs in the league but with mcgahee fannin and the rook im not sure he makes the team.
dont know who will start at safety between adams and moore but i still think we need 2 starting linebackers 2 play with miller. need outside pass rush. maybe dj moves 2 middle
hope warren and team work out that contract cause him and wolfe with vick and jackson looks good from here.. bannon might be an insurance policy but what a policy he will be
i dont see much competition at wr. demaryus 1 eric 2 andre 3 . after that willis and stokely
Nice to see a young talent like this sign quickly get the contract over and concentrate on Football Baby!
