Philip Blake didn’t grow up with football.
Being from Canada, Blake didn’t have very many football resources. However, his mother came home from a trip to New York with a present that would change his life.
The John Madden video game.
“I started playing it,” Blake — who couldn’t remember if it was Madden ’98 or ’99 — said in a conference call. “From then on I fell in love with the game.”
From there, Blake furthered his game at Baylor, where he learned from current Broncos center J.D. Walton.
“J.D. Walton is a real good guy,” Blake said. “When I made the move to center he gave me a few tips. I’ve played with him, and I’ll learn from him again, so I know that’s a great experience.”
Blake said he could play guard or center, and has experience playing both positions. He can also squat an hefty 635 pounds.
“Yes, sir,” Blake said. “All the way down and all the way up.”

B-R-O-N-C-O-S BRONCOS BRONCOS BRONCOS
Upshaw on playing Trent Richardson and the Browns twice a year.
“Trent tried to run me over in practice a couple time. Lets just say it didnt work out so well for him”
LMAO going to be interesting watching Ravens Browns now for that reason.
Did not realize that Elway’s son is best friends with Osweiler, now it’s all coming together as to why they were so set on him.
Jack gave John scouting reports on ASU players. I wont be surprised to see us take Burfict.
I watch a lot of college football and ASU was not good.
Jaguars got Brandon Marshall LOL
Brandon marshall just got drafted…lol
Denver Broncos (Last Year: 8-8)
2012 NFL Draft Individual Grades:
36. Derek Wolfe, DT, Cincinnati: B- Grade
Didn’t nail that pick. Derek Wolfe fills a need for the Broncos, but it’s a bit of a reach. Aside from Mel Kiper, no major big board had him higher than No. 51. He was a one-year wonder at Cincinnati, so there were probably better defensive tackle prospects available like Devon Still, Kendall Reyes and Jerel Worthy.
57. Brock Osweiler, QB, Arizona State: D Grade
Umm… don’t the Broncos want to win now? Why did they pay big bucks to Peyton Manning if they’re unwilling to build around him for a 2012 and 2013 Super Bowl run? I had Denver picking Brock Osweiler – but in the third round. This selection should have been used on someone who could help the team win now. I don’t understand what John Elway is doing.
67. Ronnie Hillman, RB, San Diego State: C Grade
You mean the Broncos took a player to help them win now? What a concept. Ronnie Hillman fills a need at running back behind Willis McGahee, but he’s a reach; no major big board had him in the top 100.
101. Omar Bolden, CB, Arizona State: B+ Grade
Omar Bolden fits the range and fills a need; the Broncos signed Tracy Porter, but they still need to get younger at corner. He missed all of 2011 with a torn ACL, so there’s some risk here. However, he was considered as a second-round prospect prior to the injury.
108. Philip Blake, C, Baylor: B+ Grade
The Broncos wanted to sign Jeff Saturday, but he went to the Packers. This makes sense. Philip Blake fits the range and could eventually take over as the starting center.
137. Malik Jackson, DE, Tennessee: B Grade
This is the right range for Malik Jackson. The Broncos had to find defensive end depth behind Elvis Dumervil and Robert Ayers.
My bad the grades are from walter football
so he likes all our picks just thinks we reached with Hillman and Osweiller
Chiefs and chargers Defense is stout now, hope we can keep up with them, specially the chiefs.
Since Zebrie Sanders was just taken I have to post this LOL my favorite play of his
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV448r5f2qI
lol who took him
BIlls I believe.
he can teach them how to relax and rest
LMAO Skillz!!!
He will NEVER live that down haha. But I find it really funny because the entire line was kinda delayed to varying degrees, not just him lol.
SW I was actually just talking to my dad about that. But he was asleep the whole play. At least the others moved eventually.
Millertime… I agree, our division will be stout this season…!!!
Hopefully Miller can level the field by pulverizing Phylis this season (Phylis owns Peyton head to head)
there goes carder
Man we dont get the Tank to go with Doom and Wolfe
No kidding AB. I mean you can argue that he wasn’t moving because he was told not to move they were gonna try to draw an offside. But as they say, “C’mon man!” wake up! haha
Yea I mean once everyone else was moving he should have!
Seriously??? Is this commercial necessary EVERY dang time they go to a commercial break??? So sick of it all ready!!!!
San diegos D was already better then ours and now look what they did in the draft scary, hopefully peyton can score 30 pts a game.
So, what do we think the chances are that we go for Burfict now. I get the feeling we aren’t trading back up.
AB, cant stand that damn commercial
Well if we do I hope Coale becomes a UDFA and we get him then. I hope the same with Burfict if we take Coale. I just hope we get both!!!
Thank god MT Im NOT the only one!
I love how you want both these players now AB. Granted I fully understand the Burfict now is worth the pick whereas anywhere earlier it’d've been a HUGE risk. But I just like how hard you seem to be hoping for both lol
and there goes coale
There goes your guy AB!
jerry jones is listening ab
Ef this efn draft!!!! GD IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AB, ur boys gone
haha and yall were hard on me when i said it was a bust yesterday
Romo the Homo wont know how to use him!!!! GD IT!!!!!!! We could trade our 6th for 20 1st round picks and I will STILL hate this draft!!!! GD YOU JERRY JONES!!!!!!!!!!
I like our draft, but I hate the draft process, because you just keep seeing names you like leaving haha
we could have had a good player in the first like hightower or martin but no.
then we could have had curry or worthy but no then we could have had either jenkins or johnson but no and so on and so on
We could have had a better line man and a better running back then we got but we did do ok i suppose
I stand by my statement that our scouts must be seeing things in those “top” guys that we don’t want. No matter how much it hurts seeing them disappear
We reached alot last year too. Our board is always so different. Anyway, Its all good. Just hope it all works out. Cuz minus the likes of Von Miller and Franklin, every other pick last year looks pretty weak. We lucked out with Chris Harris and QC did decent. Last years draft was kinda a fail. But its only one year later. These guys will have time to improve. I like the blake pick alot.

Skillz… did you see the Rash of Chit I took on Thursday for calling out the FO…
if you didn’t know better you would have thought ‘Big Sister’ Socal was actually part of the club as offended as he/she got
well. 6th rounder for 20 1sts would be pretty hard to hate. just sayin
I hear ya bronco i just hope everything pans out theses guys are broncos now so i gotta love em
LBF Just showing how disappointed I am at no Danny Coale. Manning would have made him better than Welker ever has been!
What up TRB!!! good to see you!
I really want to come to BAL next season and watch the game… I would like to say I saw Ray Lewis play live…
I’m not a baseball fan, but I did go see Barry Bonds play at Coors field the year he hit all those homers! gotta love watching great talent live…
well turtle i am not trying to bash em but ugh just ugh st louis got like four players i thought we could have got for our team needs
I like Wolfe .. man seems to know how to get after a QB but I woulda preffered Devon Still but like some people said, maybe they just didnt interview well or workout well or something.
