On Friday, the Broncos inked another draft pick — fourth-round offensive lineman Philip Blake.
Blake is the fifth selection to sign, joining cornerback Omar Bolden, defensive lineman Malik Jackson, linebacker Danny Trevathan and defensive tackle Derek Wolfe.
Blake started all 38 games he played at Baylor — 12 at right tackle and 26 at center. During that span, his 254 knockdown blocks and 48 touchdown-resulting blocks were the most for any interior offensive linemen in the Big 12 conference.
That leaves just two draft picks unsigned — second-round quarterback Brock Osweiler and third-round running back Ronnie Hillman.

wonder why it’s taking so long to get those two inked? I’m sure they’ll get it done eventually. No real rush I spose.
Looking forward to seeing a Canadian on our team!! Go get em Blake!
and DB………….in response to your attempt at stirring the pot about manning………….
I actually think PM is looking forward to that first big hit, in a wierd type of way. He wants to take a hit, get up, and play on to show all the doubters that he’s okay. I mean, nothing is garaunteed in this league and any player can go down at any time to injury……….and if that happens, I highly doubt it will be due to a neck injury. PM might not be 26 again…….but he’s far from geriatric either, which it seems you make him out to be. Great QB’s can play a lot longer than others because of their mental aspect to the game…….and we all know that PM is as cerebral as they come.
And we’ll all argue with you on this until we’re blue in the face or until PM proves you wrong himself………..whichever comes first! lol
I agree kod he will be glad after that 1st hit so he can move on. Hes def thinking about it. And my god 36 is not at all old. Hell its young, especially for a qb. He will rarely take hits and the protection given to him by the refs will be huge. Nothing will happen to him. Except he may strain his face muscles when he picks up tha lombardi trophy and smiles too hard…
“unless you were talking about the stuff Turtle said – Turtle is just trying to get a reaction. There are a few here who feel the need to comply therefore they react. Pretty funny stuff!”
Cmon db not you too. Not you! Thats the first sign someones trying too hard. The old, worn out, ‘I’m just so smart I’m gonna brilliantly get em going and theyre too beneath me to even know I’m doin it on purpose.’ Man its sooo pitiful when people try that route in there superiority attempt. I refuse to believe you’re that type too. REFUSE!!
Man, just watched Ayers video on the homepage and I believe he is going to be the most surprising player this year!! Not saying most productive bc we all know what Champ, Von, and Doom will do but I really believe he finally proves his 1st round value this year!! He said he had no competition and that he is wanting to get on Millers and Doom’s type of level!!! Our D should be pretty nasty this year!! Especially with the type of offense we’ll have with Manning!
ALL HAIL THE NECK!!!!!!!!!
Agreed freak,we will have a great Defense,imo!
This will be Ayers breakout year,we will have one of the best front 7 in the NFL!
Well if we are going to have one of the best, we’re going to need a lot of production out of Wolfe and Ayers. I feel great about Wolfe. I watched his film against Vanderbilt and he was double teamed the whole time and was still producing and pushing the pocket. Starting out in the NFL he will not be double teamed so I am very excited to see what happens. Besides, he was the most productive DT last year with getting 9.5 sacks in college with the people who entered the draft. Let’s just hope that production just stays constant or gets better!! We will be one of the best front 7′s in the NFL this year if Wolfe can produce 6-10 sacks and Ayers the same thing!!!
freak,if Ayers and Wolfe have those kind of #s,we will end up with 50 + sacks!!!!hope so bro!
ya know before the 2009 draft mike mayock said, and i quote, “i wouldnt be suprised if in 3 years we are talking about robert ayers as the best defensive player in this entire draft”. big words from super draft guru mikey and i hope ayers lives up to it. its now year 4 and time to prove mayock right (just a little late). better late than never. he has superior athletic ability and had a ton of promise coming out of tennessee. he just needs to put it all together and as he gets older and more mature i think he will do that. plus now we have a good team and everyone will be motivated to play well and win and that cant be said enough. the team dynamic will be different with an elite qb at the helm. no more just playing for pride, they know theyre truly playing for the trophy now. That alone will result in a better effort from everyone.
TGIF!!!
