Bailey Impressed with New Uniforms

May 1st, 2012 - 4:34pm by Gray Caldwell

At the beginning of April, Champ Bailey donned the Broncos’ new Nike uniform as the NFL unveiled each club’s new look.

The Pro Bowl cornerback came away impressed.

“From the outside looking in, you might not see a whole lot (of difference),” Bailey said. “But the feel is different. And Nike is top-notch — you can’t get much better than that.”

Nike described the uniform changes below:

The Denver Broncos have chosen to take full innovation in the Nike Elite 51 football uniform. The Broncos design aesthetic will stay true to years past while updating the color-blocking in the neckline in order to accommodate the Flywire technology to reduce weight and provide a lockdown fit over the pads. Designed and engineered from the inside out, the new uniform focuses on creating a system where the baselayer, padding, jersey and pant work in concert. A few of the new innovations include increasing sleeve articulation for better range of motion and integrating new four-way stretch fabrication to provide a streamlined shrink-wrap fit.

As for the new feel Bailey mentioned, he said he believes it will benefit the players on gamedays.

“Only time will tell once we get out there on the field and put them on,” he said. “I’m just looking forward to that part.”

While the material of the jerseys is what the players will notice most, fans will certainly pay attention to the look of the new threads — notably the switch back to orange.

“I think it’s overdue,” Bailey said. “Now we can wear orange cleats and all kind of stuff. It’ll look fresh.”

Replicas of the jerseys are on sale now, and while the players’ actual jerseys aren’t expected to arrive at Dove Valley until closer to training camp, one uniform has arrived — Peyton Manning’s.

I`m trying to fix my handle at the moment, those letters in bold OFTDS at the end of my handle look rediculous. How can I fix this, it looks stupid!!

Very good point TRB! Now with the addition of G – C.J. Davis from Carolina, resigning of Manny Ramirez, and draft selection of Phillip Blake.. the interior will have depth for the running game. Walton & Beadles will be challenged. Hope Kuper comes back at 100%, if not one of the other three can fill in.

Not sure if Moreno will even be available for the first part of season…

  6. Royalbroncofan1 says:

    strand – I now have a capital “R” on my handle…lol.

  12. strandOFTDS says:

Royal, I`ve got a job interview later on today. These last two years have been bleak, little work if any in the construction business lately.

  13. Royalbroncofan1 says:

I could be wrong on Ramirez, but thought I read he’ll be in camp this year.

  14. Royalbroncofan1 says:

Yeah, careful not open your mouth or you’ll eat one !! Darn things were all over there for awhile but subsiding somewhat! lol.

  24. SWBronco says:

Tracy Porter NOT suspended! That’ll be a load off of a few people’s minds

  25. strandOFTDS says:

Ramirez was on our roster last year.

  26. strandOFTDS says:

    Good for Porter!

  27. strandOFTDS says:

Vilma is out the entire season! I had a feeling that would be the case.

  28. Royalbroncofan1 says:

Ramirez still listed on roster #65 G age: 29 college: Texas Tech.

  29. Royalbroncofan1 says:

He didn’t play very much last year.. ST I believe. He may have subbed a few times, but Hochstein was primary sub for the Guards.

  30. Royalbroncofan1 says:

Glad to read Porters’ off the hook!

  31. Royalbroncofan1 says:

Guard C.J. Davis was signed as F/A from Carolina back in Feb… re-united with Coach Fox and O-line Coach Magazu.

  32. 1nOnlyTRB says:

While i like our high character team. I totally think we shoulda gotten Vontaze undrafted. A bit of a risk but wouldnt cost anything and so many questions at LB. suspensions, Mays sucking, etc. TRB

  33. SWBronco says:

I never thought Mays sucked TRB. I definitely thought he was deficient in some areas, but he’s a good player, and with JDR I bet he’ll be a lot better.

  34. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Maybe sucking was harsh but he is not the ideal player i would like at Mike, from his short height to his limited coverage skill and inability to shed blocks a times. When he does play well he plays well and can hit like a mach truck but i feel the cerebral part of the position is lost on him. It was his first year starting and first year in that system. Maybe I just expected too much from him. I doubt the staff would offer him 4 mill a year if they didn’t deem him capable. But I still hope for the day Irvign is who they think he is and turns out to be a beast of a man. Mays really slowed down last year and it was sad to watch. he might benefit from a premiere DT tho. Lets hope Wolfe is that guy. Woulda prefered to have wolfe AND Bunk tho.

    TRB

  35. DenverOranges says:

wolfe and Bunk would have been real nice thats for sure

  36. Royalbroncofan1 says:

Thanks for link on Eric LaGrand TRB. Although a sad read, good to see Bucs did something really inspirational for him.

  37. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Yea RBF. Big ups to the Bucs. Even more happy to see he is slowy regaining functions. Pray he gets to walk again.

    TRB

  38. Royalbroncofan1 says:

Vontaze looks like he’ll get a chance to stick the Bengals. I know they drafted your man Devon Still.
Can’t believe Kendall Reyes still landed in the AFC West the the Bolts. lol.

  39. Royalbroncofan1 says:

    **with the Bolts**

  40. 1nOnlyTRB says:

The Patriots signed WR Jabar Gaffney, who was released by the Redskins this week. He caught 85 passes for the Patriots from 2006-08, and was a favorite of QB Tom Brady.

  48. OrangeTsunami says:
