After standout seasons at their respective positions, three Broncos were named to the 2009 AP NFL All-Pro Team on Thursday.
First-time Pro Bowl selections Ryan Clady and Elvis Dumervil were named to the AP All-Pro First Team, while teammate Brian Dawkins, who earned his eighth Pro Bowl nod in 2009, was named a second-team All-Pro selection.
“It’s always nice to see your players receive national recognition for their play,” Head Coach Josh McDaniels said. “Ryan, Elvis and Brian are a big part of our football team and certainly proved this past season that they are among the league’s best at their respective positions. I’m happy for them. Defensively, few players in the NFL made as much of an impact as Elvis did, and Brian brought such an attitude to our locker room while continuing to play at the highest level. For Ryan to be named a first-team All-Pro at such a young age is a rare thing for a tackle and speaks volumes for his play.”
Clady, who was named a second-team AP All-Pro as a rookie in 2008, becomes only the fifth offensive linemen since the 1970 merger to be named to the AP All-Pro First Team by his second season in the league.
The other four offensive linemen to accomplish that feat were Anthony Munoz (Cincinnati) in 1981, Willie Roaf (New Orleans) in 1994, Jonathan Ogden (Baltimore) in 1997 and Jammal Brown (New Orleans) in 2006. No tackle has ever received first-team AP All-Pro honors as a rookie.

Aww man no one else?!?!? lol… Congrats guys….especially Clady who we all felt got screwed last year….Half a sack….dont get much better than that….
shanny is taking all of coaches…probably sum of our players!! hope not!
mcd can bring in his own guys now altho i dont think much can help this running game since everything we do is from the shotgun formation. Turner is going to bring life to the redskins running game. the skins next year would probably spank us on paper!
congrats to all three, i really was hoping at least these 3 kids and brandon marshall would get in, but 3 out of 4 is good, especially b-dawk, what he brought to our d is unbelievable. my favorite player on my favorite team, what a dream come true lol.
btw i think it would be hilarious if shanny traded for shef and b-marsh and the skins offense becomes unstoppable lol if that happens im gonna cry (especially cuz i live in DC lol)
shanny wont take marshall…he was going to get rid of him before he got fired. So why would he want him now???
Rumor had it that Shanny was getting ready to release Marshall before he got fired, that is just a rumor.
I’m going to ask this, I may get yelled at, but here goes, would trading Marshall and/or Scheffler to the Skins for Haynesworth be something to look into? Just askin’…
Champ bailey Got Snubbed he didnt even allow a touchdown and they didnt even let him make second team Fagget voters

I hear you on Bmarsh but more importantly, I live in PG…can’t deal with them skin fans if the get Shanny, Marshall, our coaches and other players and start beasting….Wouldnt hear the end of it…
No point Dennison and Turner staying…they have been with us as long as shanahan, when shanny left they might as well have…everything was cahnged…Rick Dennisons Zone Blocking was trone out the window, and without that, our running game suffered…Turners specialty is prolly running in the zone blocking scheme he has been in for 15 years…Might as well join Shanahan, who will probably install zone blocking there and run with a former bronco who had great success in our scheme.

I am not down with any trades involving Marshall but more importantly…I dont care much for Hayneworth and no way we gonna inherit that retarded 100 million dollar contract. I say pass. I doubt they take sheffler tho…maybe Houston but not Skins…they got cooley and fred davis is up an comming…but anything is possible, like we have learned from McD even if the currents are very capable…they still like to bring in their own…
You know the skins are going to see a lot of what we saw this past offseason. Shanny is going to bring in some guys that he’s coached before and the skins fans are going to be like “what is this, were turning into the Redcos ahahaha.
TRB: Yeah that contract is pretty steep. Plus we can get a lot of stuff for that kind of money.
By “stuff” I mean other positions, other needs, you all get it.
I would rather pick up 5 or 6 guys for what Haynesworth has left on his contract then get Haynesworth himself. Especially if it requires Marshall or a draft pick to do so
On a side note, someone asked me what I thought of this scenario:
Redskins trade Campbell and a 3rd rounder to the Bears for Cutler.
Redskins trade a 1st and 2nd to the Broncos for Marshall and Scheffler.
I told him that I do not see the Campbell for Cutler trade but I bet Shanny would like to make the trade so he has some of his offensive weapons from the past with him.
Cody, I think the Bears trading Cutler would be admitting that they threw away the franchise with the Cutler trade, that would never happen this year, IMO, they will be trying to prove they did the right thing with that trade until they are Titanic bound, IMO. That buddy of yours has too much time on his hands coming up with scenarios like that. And the Bears gave up two first and a third to get him, but they would come around a year later and let him go for a third? Plus they get Campbell, who is no way better than Orton was in the first place? The whole Bear country would be up in arms to no end. Your buddy must be high on the sauce, LOL. No disrespect.
Maybe we get Mike Bell back,I heard that he is a free agent,he is a pretty good power runner isn’t he??????? I forget what his size was??????
Yeah, I would be happy with Mike, he is over 220 I think and he is not a Shanny guy, Shanny didn’t like him, so we could look into that, but he seems to be a key to what they do in N-O, I doubt they wouldn’t match an offer.
Mike Bell, 6′, 225 lbs.
Hey Baylin,too bad we ain’t coaches,I bet we could build a helluva a team.LOL
baylin – i told him to lay off the crack for reasons similar to yours
To each is own, LOL.
Hainesworth is the defensive equivalent of B Marsh, capable of totally dominating a game…. when he wants to. In Hainesworth case, it’s not very often. Guess the Redskins found out why the Titans let an all-pro dominating DL go in free agency. The biggest difference between Hainesworth and B Marsh is the B Marsh appears to br trying to get his act together. That was shown in the interview that somebody posted a link to where those interviewing him kept trying to get him to bad mouth the Broncos and McD. He didn’t rise to ther bait.
Congrats to Clady , Doom and Dawkins, much deserved awards for guys who left it all on the field this season.
CONGRATS guys!!! Best of luck and have a blast in FL!!!!! LUV da BOYZ!!!! Can’t wait til the fan fair!!!! C ya’ll in June! FOREVER BRONCOS!!!!
