After facing a 24-0 deficit at halftime, the Denver Broncos rallied for 35 consecutive points in the second half to beat the San Diego Chargers on the road, 35-24.
Included in the rally were two defensive touchdowns. The first one came on a strip-sack by defensive end Elvis Dumervil, as cornerback Tony Carter picked it up and ran 65 yards for a touchdown, cutting the lead to 10 points at 24-14. It was the first touchdown of Carter’s career, and he later recorded his first career interception.
Cornerback Chris Harris provided the knockout blow in the fourth quarter with his second interception of the game, which he returned for a touchdown. Harris’ pick-six made the score 35-24 with just more than two minutes left in the game.
Peyton Manning finished 24-of-30 passing for 309 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. The touchdowns were to wide receivers Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker and Brandon Stokley, respectively.
The win tied for the largest comeback in team history, and it was only the fifth time in NFL history a team has overcome a 24-point halftime deficit and went on to win.
It was also the largest halftime comeback in the history of Monday Night Football, and the largest of Manning’s career.
Denver now sits at 3-3, tied for the division lead with the Chargers.

RH709 Carter and Harris are my heroes!!!! TWO INTS for Harris and Carter had one with a fumble return. My heart was all a flutter. Our young guys are figuring this out!
WE WON!! HAHA!!
I KNEW WE WOULD WIN! I predicted the score to be 34-24. NAILED IT!! BULLSEYE!!
Adam Schefter, strand… He said we’d always remember this as the night the Broncos won the AFC West in 2012.
Peyton Manning is making the Colts look silly.
Congrats on calling the score, buddy!
LOVE SCHEFY!
I had 35-21
Thats the closest I’ve come so far in the 3 years I’ve been on this blog. Yeah! And thanks Cat!
Hey, not bad! You might get some points. We’ll see soon.
Tap your cleats 3 times!!
Right 05:25 in the morning here soo goodnight from London. Maybe optimistic to try to sleep for a few hours before work. Still buzzing
Peyton is so funny… Laughing at the blade of grass that tripped Decker.
Will be a long day tomorrow but well worth it
Tap your cleats three times!
LOL, Really. HaHa!!
Will dream about Rivers bemused look on the sideline trying to figure out what happened – wonder if he still thinks it is great to have Peyton in AFC West – Muahahaha.
Rivers is still a cry baby. LOL

going back 8 years, if you go into the 4th q ahead by 14 against PFM, consider yourself tied.
London, I agree. I doubt he’s happy he said that. Chargers destroyed themselves.
Brilliant Alex. LOL
honestly, if we peak at the right time we really are a sb favorite.
If we stop making silly mistakes, we’ll be brutal in most games.
LOL!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
The best bronco game I have ever watchedd I think wow did good:))
Cat, sent ya an email.
Yes. I agree 100% Alex.
NORV almost cried in his press conference.
Tap your cleats three times, strandsky!
Those Special Teams turnovers really hurt us in the 1st quarter. The kickoff that fell short was just a lucky bounce for S.D. Crazy!!
Im A Tappen Ticat06!! LOL
YEE HAW!!
ROCK N ROLL!!
I’ll sleep with a smile on my face tonight. HaHa!!
Night buddy!!! I have to function tomorrow!
Haha Thanks Cat. Just glad your happy (that goes for everyone).
I still think Carter needs some work but he is talented for a young guy and very very aggressive. I played a lot of sports as a kid and some I was good at and Basketball I wasn’t (even at 6’1″). I got by until about junior year of HS on aggression alone despite talent. That’s hat I saw in Carter early but he is young and will develop.
And you are 110% right Cat, if this team stops making mistakes…it is scary good.
just to state the obvious, that was among the three best comebacks ever. how do you start off losing 24 – zip and end with a convincing win?
i loved that game. so mad in the first half then boom a whole new team. manning was fantastic, the d was terrific, and big props to chris harris and tony carter for stepping up. and to the cry babies earlier true fans have faith. dont give up during the middle of a game and especially during the beginning of a season. GO BRONCOS!!!
I also like Peytons dry humor.
Laters Cat!!
A roller coaster of a game. WOW!!
How ya doing Socal? Nice to see ya bro, it’s been awhile.
I’m off to bed as well.
Lmao @ London
Repost from last blog-
Wow!
As a lifetime Broncos fan, I’ve been treated to some amazing comeback victories through the years.
This one was simply spectacular!
1st place AFC West and Peyton Manning is-
Broncos Country Strong 2012!!!
What a polarizing difference in halves.Nearly wore a hole through the back of the couch by throwing the remote in blood boiling anger.Hope the dumb mistakes stop soon.I blame Willis and Manning equally for the INT.Willis for not understanding the play change and Manning for not seeing Willis wide open and throwing to Jammer where Willis should have been.Who knows how it would have gone had Willis been there too but……
Then the second half.Nearly wore a hole in the ceiling with excited and celebrated arm throwing .Hahahaha.Way to go TEAM!!!
basically the st lôst but d and o made up for it.
strand good, how bout you. did you enjoy that game. i think all of Broncos Country did. love it. was invited to go but no money since we went to the home opener. oh well still good to watch at home with the family.
This win could carry the Broncos on a long winning streak
tlcat…I saw that too. Norv almost cried at the press conference. Hilarious. He should have been fired a few years ago but I’m glad he wasn’t. What a douche bag. What a great team comeback. So glad Chris Harris and Tony Carter were the guys who stepped up…and DOOM!!!! Finally.
