It didn’t take free agent safety Mike Adams very long to decide Denver was the place for him.
“It is a great fit for me,” he said Thursday. “The atmosphere is good and it felt right. I didn’t have to take any more (visits), it just felt right.”
He laughed that the 70-degree weather didn’t hurt, especially coming from Cleveland.
But most of all, he appreciated the warmth he felt from everyone he met on the visit, from Owner/CEO Pat Bowlen to Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway to Head Coach John Fox.
“I knew of Fox when he was with the Giants,” Adams said. “I was born and raised in Paterson, NJ, and I heard nothing but good things about him. Even when he went to Carolina – nothing but good things about him. It was proven once we all met today and it was a no-brainer to not take any more visits and just stay here.”
Adams said he met “basically everybody in the whole facility” as he took a tour around Broncos headquarters, enjoying his meetings with his position coaches and Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio.
“Coach Jack Del Rio – he played the game 11 years, so he knows and he understands what defensive players go through, when he needs to back off or when he needs to push guys,” he said. “As a player, that’s what you want. You want a coach that really understands. (Fox and Del Rio) definitely do.”
Adams spent the last five seasons in Cleveland, starting all 16 games for the Browns in 2011, leading the team with three interceptions while accumulating 61 tackles six passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
The ninth-year safety said he played some cornerback for the Browns as well, in addition to the nickel corner and dime corner positions.
“I’m not the typical 215-pound, 220-pound safety,” he explained. “I’m a 200-pound, versatile safety that can add flexibility to the defense. I think that’s one of the things that attracted Coach Fox and Coach Jack to me, the fact that I can be flexible.”
While Adams said he and the Broncos haven’t gone into details about his role on the defense next year, he knows part of his job description already.
“(Being a mentor) is part of it — that’s part of my job being in the league going on nine years,” he said. “Whatever knowledge I have, I’m definitely going to give it to Rahim (Moore) and ‘Q’ (Quinton Carter). I’m going to give it to both of them and try to help them out as much as possible so they can be successful in this league.”
So now that Adams is going from orange to orange and blue, what can Broncos Country expect to see from the team’s newest addition?
“They can expect a lot of enthusiasm, for me to go hard every play,” Adams said. “They can expect us as a defense playing together. That’s what the Broncos fans can expect.”

Abra.ham (grin!)
Glax lives on….
There goes another player in John A.
Now we have to deal with SF for PM services. Really!!
Well im out guys have a good one, not going to get back in the bashing the front office on here. Elway is the team, he made the broncos, if you dont like him you dont like the broncos. Its funny, everyone says tebow earned a shot at starting. Dont you think for one second, that Elway earned this right to build our team, crazy stuff.
Mikeyb1203 – Good call on the Mario. It would have been great to see those 3 guys blitzing all QBs in the league.
So he signs with his old team, then we didnt loose him.
Not bashing anyone but common…SF also!
PM is playing everyone like a fiddle
Millertime whenever we have a guy targeted and he signs elsewhere with the old team or not its still considered a loss. Especially if they were set to meet witht he team like Soliai was.
Oh and I think Tom Brady is a better QB. Tom Brady and Payton Manning has faced 13 times, Brady has won 8 games, while Payten has only won 5. call it a better team but Brady found ways to beat him.
I had a dream that Denver took Jerel Worthy in the first round. Not sure why, it’s not like I’ve done any research on him or anything. It was kind of out of the blue…
Just D, really this is who they want, im with them no matter what, or who ever is our QB. I dont think youve ever like manning myself, we never get to deep into FAgency aways. we will not spend a gang of money their, hes not holding us up bro.
Thats right…A team beats a all star team. Just look at the NY Giants. They also beat the Packers
Its funny cause a week ago i was watching NFLN and they were all saying he will make a decision quickly he doesnt want to be in the media spotlight he wants to help in FA…….LMAO how wrong were they? As time goes on more and more while we wait the media get more and more focused on him AND we dont get FAs. Even 2nd and 3rd tier guys. We only got 1 FA. We cant even resign our own guys cause our FO is to focused on Manning to try and make more moves elsewhere its hard to see.

Manning to Moss for the Game Winner… and San Fransisco wins Superbowl 47… Spluh…
Here is the Turtle LOL whats up BT everyone is still focused on PM unfortunately
Well have a nice day BRONCO COUNTRY I will be back when something happens.
What up AB… Can’t wait to see how we spend 35 mill on 2nd and 3rd tier scrubs to fill out our roster…
This sucks!!!!!!! Why?????????????????
Sorry!!!! LOL. Just beyond frustrated!
Oh yea especially when were not bringing in any guys to sign!
This Manning thing is just starting to become silly… Why is he scheduling workouts after already visiting with these teams?
I am all in if this article is accurate on the contract he wants…..

Hey, its Peyton Mannings world, we just live in it! LOL
I am pretty exited to see how Adams will work out, ive done a bit of research on him and he seems like a straight shooter classy guy. hopefully it works out!
Obviously you like stats of christmas past! lol
True Broncos fan want their team to be built correctly for the long haul and not for the short term. Am Broncos supporter wheather is was Griese…Plummer…Cutler….Orton….Quinn or Tebow. The fact of the matter is that I support Broncos and not other Teams HOF QB…wheather is Manning, Brady or Favre. Everyone should be asking about what are they going to do after PM dont come to us? Are they still gonna trade for Mike Wallace or go after Michael Bush or even Jones. You cannot build only in the draft…You get a couple of players in FA to plug some holes and then you get your future players in the draft! And yes Bro, he is holding this team up.
I know it’s really hard for some people to see the forest through the trees but here are the cold hard FACTS.

Last I checked, its Eli world and Peyton lives in it LOL
The parameters of a potential deal, according to the source, rest in the neighborhood of $60 million, with $30 million guaranteed, over five years. Thats only 12 mil a year and up from there if bonuses kick in
Here we go again!
Gabe it would be 6 mil with bonuses kicking it up from there. Guaranteed money is what you go by the other 30 mil is in bonuses he can get.
Love that article. WoW. TT haters gonna hate.
http://www.gazette.com/opinion/tebow-135215-nfl-manning.html
You guys should read this it is just cold facts.
I knew i loved TT 4 a reason almost 4got like alot of fans have.
He did what he did with a bad supporting cast plain and simple mc. D drained the talent and TT still kicked but after KO stunk the joint up.
haha wow i messed up ya…. Way less money than i thought. but still love that article about tebow to manning
Got 2 excited… did the math with bonuses then addded bonuses haha
i have a ddd… apparently. haha
Lol that article is a good one. It was posted like 10 minutes ago to by FLBroncoGator
Over their last 13 starts, Tebow and Manning have the same winning record — 8-5. Each threw one touchdown pass for every 23 pass attempts. Tebow threw only one interception for every 51 passes. Unfortunately, Manning threw one interception for every 33 pass attempts. Tebow won one playoff game and lost the next. Manning lost his only playoff game, 17-16, to the Jets. Since Manning played these last 13 games, he has reportedly undergone three neck procedures and has not played for 14 months.
Tebow also brings the critical advantage of mobility to the field, which Manning does not. Over their last 13 starts, Tebow ran for 681 yards and 6 touchdowns. Manning ran for 23 yards and 0 touchdowns. Manning’s lack of mobility may explain some of the difficulty he has encountered in the playoffs during his storied career.
DANG!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ITS FRIDAY………………SO WHO GIVES A RATS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m tired of this crap,I don’t care anymore, that pisses me off that he threw for the 49ers and took a physical for them, before us!!!
Manning if you wanna be a Bronco, that’s fine but let us freaking know!!!!
B.S. waiting 2-3 more days, now we gotta worry about the stupid 49ers.
This is getting ridiculous.
I know FlBroncoGator…. thanks for the link man thats some awesome info! As a bronco and TT fan …. Lets build this team through the draft pick up quality gap fillers and build this team long term!
AB i like that article…. it puts fact behind the feelings of what TT did for us last year. I love how people say TT is all hype…. I bet you that if he didnt win all the games he did last year or take us to the playoffs. He would be on the bench and not talked about He has earned his spot. If the get PM in sweet but we will see how long TT stays on the bench.
they*
I think every true bronco fan that has the misconception that tebow stinks at playing qb should read that article.
Nice article… Some of us having been PUM PUM PUMMMING that sort of news for many many weeks!!! TT just gets hated on… He is the man, on and off the field and I’m so happy he’s still with us! When he goes there will be a dark shadow for us to live under for many many seasons… SUCKS!!! hey Elway, don’t become the ‘The guy that traded Tebow’! Let us remember you as ‘The best we ever saw’… Please…
VON TEBOW FOOTBALL BABY!!! It is Till it Isn’t!!!!
Go to the Niners of Tatas Manning we no longer want you. Anyone else notice fans cheered and what not when Manning was leaving the Tatas facility and no one did that in Denver? LMAO We dont want him!!
Alright folks im out got to go pay bills FUN Lmao
TEEEE OOOO WEEEOO T-BOW
C ya AB. have fun with that
Now they need to put up a billboard to tell PM to hurry and sign with another team and quit holding everyone hostage.
Gee the other day ab said if we could get Manning for like 11-12 million a ear he’d take it………guess he changed his mind,he didn’t want him all along,LMAO!
*year
Now the DP is reporting that the contract is $90M!!!!
