Jeff Stehle put together a training camp audition the Broncos didn’t forget.
The team waived Stehle — a college free agent defensive lineman from the University of Wisconsin — on Sept. 4, and then signed him to the practice squad 10 days later. Denver also signed linebacker Titus Brown to the practice squad and waived linebacker Worrell Williams.
Stehle played three games for Denver during the preseason and totaled seven tackles and a pass defensed.
Brown is a third-year player who spent the previous two years with Cleveland, playing five in games with no starts after signing with the Browns as a college free agent from Mississippi State University in 2008.
He started 30 games in college and totaled 170 tackles, 18.5 sacks and three forced fumbles.

KEEP THE DRIVE ALIVE BRONCOS!!!
Thanks Big D, bringing a RB in, there only could be two reasons for it, either Brown or Bucky was not healthy enough to contribute, it sounds as if it might be Brown, too bad since he was the only one who half way ressembled a power back at 6′, 224.
But in order to bring in Brown, he had to pass a physical, so what in the world is going on?
bnt, thank your wife for her service from me.
bay, I read that you said we would win this sunday why? When I feel if we keep playing ST the way we played againts the jax, when I feel that is the reason we lost sunday. We could loose againts any team in the nfl. How in the world can garrard have 170 passing yards in 3 TD in win the game. It’s not like mjd ran for 200 yards on us. I believe if we could have stopped them at there own 20 yard line that we could have won 24-13. But nothing I can say can change the fact that we are 0-1. I still feel we can finish 10-6 but if our ST keeps giving up alot of yard that will hurt us all season long. We can end up more like 3-13.
60 MINUTES OF FOOTBALL GO BRONCOS!!!
This is reportedly what McD just said about Maroney:
Broncos coach Josh McDaniels referred to newly acquired Laurence Maroney as a “third back” at his Wednesday presser.
This indicates that Correll Buckhalter will keep the No. 2 running back job for now, though his penchant for injuries and lack of productivity so far could push Maroney up sooner than later. “I know the kid. He’s a good kid,” McDaniels said of Maroney. “He can be productive in our offense.”
will do…hoping to maybe get her and i up to the baltimore game. we meet in the service before i got out medical retired and i convinced her she needed to be a bronocs fan over the raiders. her logic was they had jerry rice once and so i countered with we he last signed with denver i have the jersey you can be a bronocs fan now she loves them….and i had to give her updates on the team while deployed as she did for me when i was deployed.
Manny, the reasons are plenty to me, first and more importantly the Seahawks had two scores that came on D, so their O actually wasn’t half as productive as people make it out to be. Second their strength was stopping the run and Alex Smith caused them no bother, he is a horrible QB, so Orton should be able to exploit them. Third they are not a great running team, Hasslebeck has to get it done and we are better at that, so I think we can win this one even so our ST coverage was horrible. But obviously any given Sunday, it could go either way, I thought we might lose last week but I like this match up better, and it won’t be 100 F and we will be at home, we better win, if we don’t we will already be starting our treck up the river without a paddle.
bntbroncos, thanks to you and your wife for serving our country and God bless the both of you. As for our Bronco blunders last weekend, they can be fixed. I`m not going to count them out just yet. No way. There`s a lot of football to be played. From the coaching staff on down to the players, just learn from your mistakes. And for God sakes get healthy.
I predicted 11-5. I have no prob voicing my discontent.
By the way, can anyone explain (preferably McD), why Larsen can’t be used as our powerback?
Ok, not McD here, but I’ll give it a shot, it’s because we need to keep him at FullBack because you never know when you might need one, LOL.
The Disco Duo- that’s Dy-no-mite!
Yeah! At least he’s healthy!
I hope you caught it was totally sarcastic since he hardly ever uses a FB.
I can’t believe how down everyone gets! It’s just one game. It might work in our favour as we improve, which will hopefully mean we finish strong (when people get healthy!)
I liked most of what I saw on Sunday. We lost ‘cos of kick coverage (easily corrected) and 2 bone-head facemask penalties which gave the momentum straight back to a team that looked under pressure.
And I don’t blog for the first half of the week ‘cos I record the late games and it takes me a few days to catch up (without finding the scores out!)
The UK still has faith!
It’s like weapons in the military, we keep building them and many we never ever even use, just saw in the news somebody is making a museum of these new weapons that were never used throughout our history, amazing.
You got it tough UK, kudos to you for holding up on the scores before you see the games, I would do the same, once I know the score it takes all the fun away of watching.
Tanks, airplanes, Larsen… LOL.
Hillis is in there too…
This addition only shows that McD is chasing some fantasy team that he had back in NE. He can not assess talent, and must rely on past encounters from NE in order to make a decision. That being said, the lack of success on the ground is not due to our Rb’s talent. The problem is with the line. In my opinion, out of all the mistakes McD has made, changing the o-line from a zone blocking scheme to a “power” blocking scheme has been the biggest! There is simply no push up front and nowhere to run.
On the flip side, once we get all of our offensive draft picks out on the field maybe we will have more success on offense. I wish our bye week was this week!
‘I hope you caught it was totally sarcastic since he hardly ever uses a FB.” hahahahahahahaha, Baylin you definitely have your moments lol
UK, we are not down, its stuff we’ve seen but given the coach the benefit of the doubt to produce his vision. and the vision is not quite comming to pass the way he painted it and he also does questionable things when it comes to personel.
Brian_sneider, what coach saw on sunday that made him get maroney was the buckhalter fumble that killed a drive. That plus Buckhalter being injury prone makes him expendable. Now the funny thing is many NE fans attest to Maroney fumbling on the goal line (talk about a drive killer) and is injured now (and has been alot in his career). He does however have youth on buckhalter but he looks like just another buckhalter. Wish we still had the Shanahan RB coach. Teach these kids the one cut downhill running we broncos were so famous for.
I also think we can beat seahawks. They arent all that, and we are not as bad as we look. But we just dont seem to play every down with intensity. and the playcalling is lacking as well in my opinion.
I agree with 1nOnlyTRB in that our play calling is very passive and predictable. What the hell was the Tebow’s qb sneek’s all about? Horrible. At least put the guy in the shotgun and make it look like he has the option to pass. Honestly, I think McD is simply trying to hard to be McGenius. Just get back to basics, starting with line play!
According to depth chart, Brown is out and Maroney is #4 RB. Not thrilled with the trade, but not disappointed either. Only time will tell if it was good or bad. Can’t wait for Wednesday injury report to see how Harris is doing. We really, really need our all-pro caliber RT back as it will do a lot for both run game and pass protection.
The only ones who may be thrilled by Maroney’s acquistion are the same ones who were thrilled with Brown’s acquisition, how does that feel now? All these band aid players at this time of year don’t do the slightest for me, and if they by miracle turn out ok, great.
first of all…. just because we are all not on here 24 hours a day every day does not mean we are “bandwagon fans like the chargers fans”. some of us have jobs and very little free time! we cant all be retired! nuf said!!!
as for our team… i dunno… if our O line can gel and quick then i still think we could be really good! if our O line continues to play poorly then it could be a rough year! i was happy with the fact our D held MJD to under 100 on the ground, that bodes well IMO. but sloppy play (ie penalties, turnovers, lining up incorrectly etc…) killed us IMO. and special teams was atrocious! i agree with a few other that are confused as to why a couple of our rookies didnt get activated. Syd’quan for instance looked like a BEAST on ST all preseason. he was brilliant on punt returns, and made some great tackles in the kicking game as well. why in the name of all that is holy would you not want him active? hopefully with our poor ST performance last week he will get activated for this one! i think we can beat seattle on sunday, and i think if our O line can get consistent we will have a good shot at beating indy too! i really feel like we are a team that is only going to get better as we go! just my 2 cents…
Go Broncos
THE BATTLE IS WON IN THE TRENCHES
Ray, you were not one of the bloggers I was thinking about, your 9-7 prediction shows how cautiously optimistic you are, no way you fall in the gang ho category, that first loss has been keeping some of them away from here, they’ve had over three days to pop up, but no big deal, maybe they all are that busy that they can only re-arrange their schedule when things go well…
lol… ok… i didnt necesarily think i was whom you were refering to but none the less i didn kinda take offense! all is well tho!
Keep on buckin broncos.. but not necessarily bucky!
THE BATTLE IS WON IN THE TRENCHES
probably the best thing I saw all week was Rivers throwing a temper tantrum in the rain as KC kicked his butt, that was priceless. bad news is now we have a division rival that is showing some life whodathunk KC would pull off that win. Just hoping 1st game was our team “gelling”, I liked seeing KO reach down field a bit and our offense definitely showed promise, more worried (again) about the D, hard to win games like that. The good news is that we are playing the seahawks at home and that should get us on track and be a confidence builder, not willing to predict this season yet, just no track record with this team too many new faces and now KC might be a player wtf is up with that? just REALLY glad its football season and always happy to watch my team hit the field.
always the 12th man
GO BRONCOS
1-1 here we come!!!
So manny, sounds like you’re buying some of what I said. On a side note, when you ask a blogger a question and he takes the time to make a lenghty reply, an acknowledgment would be common courtesy, just saying, that way you’ll keep getting your questions answered.
TRB: Yeah, there was the one play where Moreno, seemed to stop in lieu of making a cut. Thanks for jogging my memory strandoftds. Moreno’s got some rust to shake off, and did well considering it was his first action.
He’s usually cat quick with second burst. Hope he’s ready to go this weekend vs. ‘hawks. Let’s keep it going #27!!
To me this is not the kind of game where I’m looking forward to run the rock, Moreno or anyone we’ve got, I saw what the Seahawks did to the niners running game in stopping Frank Gore and if Gore can’t get it done I don’t see how we could. Orton will have to win this game with his arm is how I see it.
Now, the following week against the Colts, no doubt that’s where I’d like to see that running game clicking, since the Texans ran all over the Colts. Like McD always says beat them by what they give you, adapt your game to their weaknesses.
Gore against the seahawks D, 17 att for 38 yards with a long run of ten, meaning 28 yards in 16 attempts!!! A 1.75 yard average per carry.
Foster against the Colts, 33 att for 231 yds. Do you think McD will over think these games and not do the obvious? I wouldn’t put it past him, hope not anyhow.
I didn’t really see what the game looked like between Seahawks and Niners. (highlights only). Makes sense the Seahawks stuffed Niners run game to have beat them so badly. 49ers are all about running the rock.
Our DB’s better pay attention to those double moves Seahawks receiving corp used on Niners defensive backs. (DB’s bit on first move).
I’m sure we’ll still run the ball, depending on down and distance, and try and keep them off balance.
Good point bay… I can see the ‘hawks facing a stiffer challenge from Orton and our receiving corp vs. Niners group.
Yeah I was lucky enough to have the NFL ticket last week, so I purposely watched the Seahawks game to measure up our next opponent, try to do that every week, it’s the most important aspect of getting ready for a game.
No doubt Orton will give them a completely different challenge than loser Alex Smith gave them, I can’t believe Singletary went with him this year, real bad QB.
One things for sure, we’re going to need to generate some more pass rush/hurries than we had last week. That was the one area, that really hurt us. Ayers had one sack, but it was more of a coverage sack. Garrard had so much time last weekend, looking off his primary and secondary receivers.
I read the ‘Niners only generated one sack on Hasselback.
bay… did you see Tyler Polumbus and Ben Hamilton play on the O-line for Seattle?
Yes, and I hear Polumbus might start since Okung is hurt and Hamilton is 2nd team. Pressure, yes, doom brought it, but now we just don’t have it, hopefully someone can step it up, even Hunter, because Hasselbeck with time can kill us just as well as Garrard did.
But the main guy we know very well who could be giving us most of the problems won’t even be on the field: Jeremy Bates!
Bates – very good OC.
