That could be a problem moving so far inland….

  2. BeastFromEast92 says:

weareamr, the Titans let Cecil go for a reason, their Defense sucked this year,we don’t need a guy like him anyway, remember he’s the guy that gave a ref the finger!

  3. milehighmagic88 says:

Be fair BFE, he was just saying we’re number 1! LOL.

  4. BeastFromEast92 says:

Cecil however did use to coach DBs for 8 years for the Titans, before he was promoted to DC 2 years ago,do we have a DB coach?

  5. milehighmagic88 says:

But seriously, no Cecil. He’s like the anti-Bronco. Overrated with little to no class.

  6. BeastFromEast92 says:

mhm88,I am offering him a DB coaching job,LOL

  7. milehighmagic88 says:

Actually yeah, a demotion would probably do him good.

  8. BeastFromEast92 says:

I was just joking about not hiring him because of his gesture,Hell sometimes I give them the finger too! lol.

  9. milehighmagic88 says:

Yeah I do too. But we have the advantage of being on the other side of the TV screen, haha.

  10. BeastFromEast92 says:

Yeah,LOL,not to good for Cecil’s character, letting millions of people see him do it tho!

  11. milehighmagic88 says:

Well, maybe the Raiders will hire him in some capacity. That shouldn’t be a problem for them…

Yes, I just took an unnecessary jab at Oakland.

  12. BeastFromEast92 says:

I wished Fox would reveal which Defensive scheme we will run next season,so I can start my Draft wish list,I think we may run a 3-4 hybrid, and some 4-3 also, that’s what I’ve read anyway.
BTW,anyone know WTF a 3-4 hybrid exactly means?

  13. BeastFromEast92 says:

    Yeah or Dallas,they don’t seem to mind character issues,(T.O.,Dez Bryant,Michael Irvin,etc,etc).

  14. milehighmagic88 says:

I think a 3-4 hybrid, or any hybrid in general for that matter, is just a D that can switch between 3-4 and 4-3. Arizona kinda ran one when they went to the SB in 08. It just means that they have players that can fit both. So like in certain situations Doom might be a 3-4 OLB, in others he might be a 4-3 DE. At least that’s how I understand it.

  15. milehighmagic88 says:

And Doom was just an example of course. Many other players would be involved in moving around in a hybrid defense.

  16. milehighmagic88 says:

Actually I think Oakland has gone hybrid during a few games the past couple years since they have players like Seymour and Wimbley that can play both.

  17. BeastFromEast92 says:

They do that on a lot of teams then,so if a OLB in a 3-4 scheme, lines up on the LOS,it’s a 4-3 pretty much anyway if he’s a down lineman right?

  18. BeastFromEast92 says:

So a hybrid Defense is just a scheme that switches from a 3-4 to a 4-3,and then back whenever the coach calls it?

  19. BeastFromEast92 says:

That might be what we need to do to get the best performance outta our LBs,kinda keep the Offense guessing.

  20. milehighmagic88 says:

That’s basically how I can understand it. But it can also get more complicated I think. Like say Doom comes out of the huddle and lines up at DE. Then after a few seconds he stands up and moves to OLB and everyone shifts around to confuse the offense. If you ask me it’s just a way of using versatile players that can fit into either system. Kinda cool if you ask me because the DC can get creative with formations.

  21. milehighmagic88 says:

Sorry I’m stuck on the phrase “if you ask me” right now.

  22. BeastFromEast92 says:

As long as we have big guys in the middle and a MLB or ILBs that can play the run better than what we have!

  23. stevecan2 says:

Packers are Superbowl bound. I cant wait to listen to Jay Cutler, in a post game interview, cry like the little b%&ch he is.

  24. milehighmagic88 says:

Yeah, definitely. I think that kind of system would be perfect for a guy like DJ actually. He can play ILB when they have 4 linebackers, then if they shift to 3 linebackers he stays still and becomes the 4-3 Weak OLB, which is where he fits the best anyway. I kind of like the idea of the hybrid.

  25. BeastFromEast92 says:

    Well Hell I’m asking you,LMAO!

  26. milehighmagic88 says:

HAHA! The good beers man. They’ll get ya!

  27. BeastFromEast92 says:

    Evertime!bro!Evertime!

  28. BeastFromEast92 says:

That’s why I like Fairley, they say he can play DT in a 4-3,or switch to a DE in a 3-4,very versatile for a 300 pounder!

  29. BeastFromEast92 says:

I would think he could be a prototypical Hybrid DL,LOL.

  30. milehighmagic88 says:

Yeah man that’s a good point. Fairley would be perfect for that kind of system.

Please Carolina, pick anyone but Fairley!

  31. milehighmagic88 says:

I think Justin Bannan and Marcus Thomas would be good in a hybrid system too. Thomas is a FA this year. I hope we resign him. I may be the only one but I love how Marcus hustles every time he’s on the field. What do you think about that one?

  32. BeastFromEast92 says:

I think he plays better than people give him credit for.
Vickerson played pretty good this year too.

  33. milehighmagic88 says:

Yeah, Vickerson too. He plays with a nasty edge, and I like that actually. He always seemed to get under the skin of the opponent by being so physical that they lost focus briefly. Every D needs at least one player like that.

  34. BeastFromEast92 says:

Jim Washburn, the Dline coach for the Titans the last 12 years, left to be the Dline coach for the Eagles, man he is a good coach, the Titans always have a great Dline no matter who plays, they rotate a lot too.
He would make a good DC.

  35. BeastFromEast92 says:

Vickerson and Fairley would be nasty on the same Dline!

  36. milehighmagic88 says:

It’s funny you mentioned Washburn. When Fox was hired Washburn immediately went on my wish list for DC for the same reason you mentioned. He knows how to get his players to dominate in the trenches.

  37. milehighmagic88 says:

Ya, that would be a lethal combo!

  38. milehighmagic88 says:

Plus with Doom rushing off the edge. Look out QBs!

  39. BeastFromEast92 says:

    I live in TN,so I watch a lot of Titans games,my 2nd team.
Washburn is as good as they come!

  40. BeastFromEast92 says:

    Later man gotta go!

  41. milehighmagic88 says:

    Later bro

A little something for you night owls. Or those of you who get up early in the morning. Sean Payton singing the prasies of secondary coach Dennis Allen. He’s interviewing with Denver and Philly. In my book whatever Sean Payton says is gospel. If I could pick my dream coach I’d probably pick Payton. Anyway here’s the link.

  44. Broncos Born & Raised says:

Can anyone tell me why Handed Blog’s name is highlighted and why the link leads to a Nroncos Merchandise website? Feel free to answer this in the morning as I know noone’s up still.

  45. baylinorcrush says:

Obviously that guy found a loop hole to get into the system as a Bronco writer because only they have their handle in blue, he will be taken out of here as soon as the moderators go to work is my guess.

  46. baylinorcrush says:

That discussion last night about the Hybrid 34 or 43 almost put me right back to sleep this morning, haha.

Just about EVERYBODY runs a hybrid of some kind, even McD who ran the 34 was in 43 alignement plenty. It’s just a way to say a team doesn’t run with the same front 7 line up ALL THE TIME, and nobody does, so in essence everybody has a hybrid D, it’s just the car industry electrical vs. gas jargon invading the NFL.

My guess is we will run a 43 predominently, so even so we use 34 formations part of the time we will be a 43 team, just my view of it anyway.

  47. baylinorcrush says:

Well, I just got corrected by Legwold and thank him for that:

If the Packers lose to the Bears, the Broncos can formally request permission, by letter, as early as Sunday evening to interview Trgovac. However, if the Packers win, the Broncos would have to wait until after the Super Bowl is played on Feb. 6 to interview Trgovac.

League rules prohibit interviews with assistant coaches who are still employed and under contract with another team unless they are interviewing for a head coaching position. Assistants on Super Bowl teams can interview to be a head coach during the week following the conference championship games, but that is the only exception.

That obviously makes it a little tougher to wait for Mr T than I thought, two weeks tougher if the Packers win Sunday…

  48. baylinorcrush says:

Add this to the mix and I can see why the Broncos are still shopping around for their DC:

Fox has said he wants to have his staff in place to attend next week’s Senior Bowl practices in Mobile, Ala., as well as meet with the Broncos’ scouting staff for the first time.

Trgovac worked as Fox’s defensive coordinator with the Panthers from 2003-08, but some of his friends around the league believe he may not want to be a coordinator at the moment.

  49. baylinorcrush says:

Life can really be quite the conundrum sometimes:

Now we Bronco fans have to basically hope for Cutler to beat the Packers Sunday so we can put the Mr T issue to rest asap.

No matter how much I think Mr T would be right for us, no way I can find myself rooting for Cutler Sunday, just me.
