For anyone interested in a vanilla interview, they can check out Xanders answering fans questions this morning in the DP. It didn’t do a thing for me, the jury is still out on that guy for me no matter what I’ve been told by the front office, but obviously I hope he can fill his GM shoes but it’s a good thing at this point in his career he has limited powers.

Interesting fact about the head coaches of the final four this weekend (for the guys who asked for an O minded HC all along):

Rex Ryan, Mike Tomlin and Lovie Smith all cut their coaching teeth on the defensive side of the ball.

As gut wrenching as it would be to see the Cutlet led Bears go to the superbowl (since I live in the Chicagoland area and EVERYBODY knows I’m a Broncoholic, Let’s just say the calls and texts have been flooding in) It would be awesome to see him flop on the biggest stage!
I will say, if Green Bay wins the Halas trophy in Chicagos lakefront park, I’m gonna have to go on vacation for a week!

Vanilla bay? More like cardboard. Even vanilla has some flavor. That interview didn’t.

Bay,any chance we can pry Washburn away from the Eagles for DC,if Mr.T dosen’t accept the job?

  6. baylinorcrush says:

    LOL.

Bay,any chance we can pry Washburn away from the Eagles for DC,if Mr.T dosen’t accept the job?
He’s a great Dline coach that just accepted a job in Philly,so the answer is probably no!

  8. baylinorcrush says:

The real problem is if Packers win like I think they will, who will there be left to pry if we wait two and a half weeks to find out if Mr T wants the job or not.

  9. BeastFromEast92 says:

    Sorry for the double post.

  10. BeastFromEast92 says:

Ah,I guess we play the waiting game.
I just hope we don’t take the 38 year old DB coach from the Saints, not enough experience for me,only 3 years coaching DBs.

  11. BeastFromEast92 says:

Yeah if Fox wants to introduce the staff at the Senior Bowl, that means he won’t wait till after the SB!

  12. baylinorcrush says:

I think that is now the major decision the Broncos have to make, put all their eggs in one basket and wait potentially until January 7th to find out if they can get the one guy, or get heavily in the race for another DC now with several teams including the Browns and the Eagles. And that could answer your question BFE, if the Eagles don’t think Washburn is qualified to be a DC candidate, why should we?

  13. baylinorcrush says:

Talking about needing to get into the race for a DC:

Former Dolphins and Bears head coach Dave Wannstedt and former Bills coach Dick Jauron could be strong candidates. Both have coached 4-3 schemes with success.

Wannstedt recently resigned as the University of Pittsburgh’s coach. He interviewed with the Browns.

Jauron, who is the defensive backs coach for the Eagles, interviewed with the Browns on Wednesday.

It’s kind of a scary proposition to have to wait until January 7th. I say for sure wait to see if the Packers lose Sunday and if so immediately set up that interview with Mr T, but if they win then move on agressively pursuing others next week. That would be my plan anyway.

  14. baylinorcrush says:

That damn rule that only candidates for HC positions from the Conference Champions’ teams can be interviewed (with the week off before the SB) is really messing us up big time, a giant stick in our wheel if the Packers do win. Stupid rule, HC’s, not assistant coaches??? That’s totally bogus NFL crapola.

  15. sndvl says:

If the Fox hiring was any indication, brass know who they want. If Mr. T is their guy then no problem waiting. A little patience could be prudent in this instance.

  16. sndvl says:

Wanny is an interesting choice tho. I threw his name out there a couple weeks back. He’s definitely got experience.
Ultimately, if Fox is going to have his hand in the proverbial cookie jar, then a yes man would be ideal. Like retaining Wink. Or a 38 year old DB coach!

  17. baylinorcrush says:

I hear you, but we better have better inside info about him than this:

Some of his friends around the league believe he may not want to be a coordinator at the moment.

  18. baylinorcrush says:

Going back to that bogus NFL rule I just discussed, it’s right down prejudiced.

  19. florio's_mom says:

I just read a Q&A with Xman. He called us bronco nation. Lol.

  20. baylinorcrush says:

He obviously doesn’t read the blog, haha.

  21. 1nOnlyTRB says:

You didnt mention GB coach Bay, I believe he was also a defensive coach before he became GBs HC. TRB out…

  22. florio's_mom says:

So I’ve been busy lately. Who is the fav for DC since junior dropped out?

  23. 1nOnlyTRB says:

    Florio

Mike Trgvac DL coach of Green Bay Packers, was DC for fox from like 2003 – 2009. He did well while there. We would have to wait for Packers to lose to interview him.

There is also Dennis Allen from the Saints. Secondary Coach. Comes highly recomended by Sean Payton. Young guy (38). Set to interview with us on saturday and the eagles on sunday. Anyone we interview, eagles will too because we are both planning to run the 4-3. Heres hoping our choice chooses us. TRB out.

  24. caramelloo says:

Why do we always get so many blogs at once? Rice and Coop have blogs up now!!

  25. baylinorcrush says:

No idea what you are talking about Green Bay coaches TRB…

  26. 1nOnlyTRB says:

you listed that 3 of the top 4 HCs in the championship game cut their teeth on the defensive side of the ball and i was saying dont u mean 4 because i was under the impressing mike mcarthy was defensive as well but i was wrong. trb out
