Clady – maybe you are more like the ‘front office’ and Carnage and you belong more to the “what have you done for me lately” crowd. Can’t see potential that needs to be developed – just the facts sir / what does the stat line say…

  2. thecladybunch says:

as for the coin toss – to me it looked like Orton was saying “damn i cant even win a coin toss for this team” and was like cant wait to hear about this in the news….

  3. daddybronc says:

    rofl – perfect!

  4. thecladybunch says:

the total ironic thing about this whole Orton Tebow thing is, if you molded them together, you would have a damn good QB

  5. thecladybunch says:

it’s a bit disheartning knowing Miami cam into that game giving up the most yards per pass in the whole NFL, and seeing what we did in the air.

  6. thecladybunch says:

could be wrong but was that the first time all year I saw Horton sitting next to TT??

  7. thecladybunch says:

It was great to hear Kevin Harlan give Sporano the kiss of death when he said “looks like hes assured of getting his first win of the year”….

  8. daddybronc says:

Not to worry – nothing wrong with Tebow’s passing – he just needs to sinc up a bit with his rec. core.

  9. daddybronc says:

Looks to me like a combo of nervous jitters, running or throwing to the wrong route, and then dropped passes. THe talent is all there.

  10. daddybronc says:

g’nite – gonna watch ‘Castle’ before sleep.

  11. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Still dunno why we are still talking about Orton … he is the past … he is non-existant … he is air … he is not worth talking about. We are moving forward not backwards and its currently Tebow time.

Game to fast for him? play long enough and u will learn to read and react faster.

As for the sacks … the man has eyes in the back of his head … he shoulda been sacked way more times … especially with a rookie covering his blindside and only passing on blitzing downs. But he does take too many sacks and hits than I would like because he either doesn’t go through his reads fast enough …. or he is trying to extend the play.

I like the effort and all I can hope for is improvement … as far as winning the division …crazier things have happened … I just hope we don’t bring up the rear. Im still holding hope to my 9-7 prediction before the season began … talk about optimistic … my glass aint just half full … it damn near runneth over.

    Later days, TRB out –

  12. Borrachazo C.R says:

Playing time… Just like Elway said it, that is how he will REALLY learn… It was his 1st start of the season and his 4th ever, but agree that the “game-plan” an/or play-calling needs to be better, more creative to say the least, not just “run on every 1st down”, too predictable most of the game…
    Patience Broncos Country, patience…

  13. Borrachazo C.R says:

TRB, like usual, I see the situation in a very similar way as you do…

  14. monodono says:

With all the speculation that Tebow may not be in Orange and Blue next year, the bottom line here is Tebow has to perform well in order for Him to hold any value in any possible trade talks. Like Orton and Quinn, you can’t trade anything that doesn’t have any value and comands a steep price.
Personally I don’t believe in any of this type of speculation, Tebow trades/Luck trades ect. and I think it’s counter productive to think this way.
I prefer to suport The Denver Broncos starting QB/QB’s whoever He or they might be and go from there. Put me in whatever Tebowcatagory you want but bottom line I’m a Broncos Fan Orange and Blue through and through.

    TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !

    GO BRONCOS ! ! !

  15. killerkod says:

I’m not intersted in speculating what will happen with this team next year. There’s still 10 games to play this season………..and that’s all that concerns me right now.

Let’s see what this team can do for the remainder of the season….

    GO BRONCOS!!

  16. baylinorcrush says:

About Orton laughing, I would be laughing too if I was on a team with a front office stupid enough to give me an extra 3.4 mil just for seating on the sidelines with a 12-20 Bronco record in my back pocket, LOL. Laughing all the way to the bank, shame on the front office.

  17. baylinorcrush says:

And whether you are a Tebow disciple or Moreno hopeful, this by Legwold is the reality of things:

Broncos coach John Fox, executive vice president of football operations John Elway and general manager Brian Xanders have made no secret that they continue to be in fact-finding missions all over the roster.

Fox routinely phrases it as “still learning about this team.”

Certainly, quarterback, specifically Tim Tebow, has received most of the attention both near and far.

But this football regime for the Broncos is looking for keepers, trying to decide which of the few Mike Shanahan draft picks will remain with the team moving forward and which of the Josh McDaniels draft picks still on the roster will be in the plan beyond what happens for the remainder of this season.

So, in that light, what happens over the next month or so could be an important set of games for one Knowshon Moreno.

So while the next 10 games have been framed as an extended audition for Tebow to show his abilities as the Broncos plan their future, the next four or so could be exactly the same thing for Moreno.

The real scary part in all of that is Legwold seems to say McGahee might be out 4 weeks when I previously heard two…

Actually this is exactly what Legwold says:

McGahee is now expected to miss between a couple of weeks and more than a month with a fractured hand.

Mucho big bummer because as a starting RB Moreno is dead in the water, go Ball! LOL. Serioulsy, we at least need to pull Jeremiah out of the PS or bring in some reinforcement unless Quinn III can play RB.

  18. baylinorcrush says:

And some added info to the revamped secondary we talked about yesterday am:

While his NFL career is in its opening months, Broncos rookie safety Quinton Carter already has filed away a nugget of information that will serve him well in the years to come.

“That you have to compete for your spot,” Carter said. “That you don’t go in and that’s it. You compete all the time, every day. That’s just how it works. I think you see that right away. You know it coming in, but you really see it now. Chris (Harris) and (Jonathan) Wilhite, they’re doing the exact same thing.

“We all want to play, so you compete and see what happens.”

Denver’s victory over the Dolphins marked Carter’s first start of the season when he leapfrogged fellow rookie Moore to play alongside Brian Dawkins. Carter has steadily worked his way into more playing time from work in the dime (six defensive backs) against the Packers to the start against the Dolphins.

Wilhite was in as the nickel back (the fifth defensive back) for much of the game at Miami.

But with the game on the line in the fourth quarter and overtime, it was Harris who was in the nickel as he finished with two key breakups.

And this is Bailey about Harris:

“He’s one of those guys you don’t have to worry about in that way,” Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey said. “(Harris) is always going to fight and battle and keep playing. You can’t get down and make it in this league. . . . You have to fix your mistakes, but you can never let them get you down. You always have to keep fighting, and Chris always does that.”

High compliments coming from Champ, that’s for sure.

  19. baylinorcrush says:

Prevent D, I hate these two words with a passion and Legwold is telling the tale about it in Miami and the SD game too, too bad!!! Maybe now teams will quit that against us while Tebow is at the helm, it may very well work with Orton but certainly doesn’t with Tebow:

The Dolphins then decided to play the percentages. And at that point, the decision to play with conventional wisdom against an unconventional player is what cost them the game.

The NFL “book” says protect the lead, which at the time was 15-0 for the Dolphins. And to protect the lead, teams often drop players into coverage, pulling them away from the line of scrimmage. The idea is for the defense to keep everything in front of it, prevent long, quick scoring plays.

But it is a mistake, at least at this point in Tebow’s career, to give him a chance to work in open space. Because he will keep moving by leaving the pocket and trying to extend plays. And given the rules of engagement in the secondary these days leaning so far toward the offense, the longer a play goes, the smaller the chance of a secondary being able to prevent a completion no matter how many players are in coverage.

So when the Dolphins backed off the line of scrimmage — just like the Chargers had backed off when Tebow came in relief two weeks before — they gave Tebow the room to move and allowed him to play in his comfort zone.

Some of that is because Miami, which is winless, is desperate for a win. It’s hard for a coaching staff under fire to be as aggressive with the game on the line.

But the decision to back off instead of sticking to what gave them the lead certainly cost them the victory.

You would have to expect the Lions, Jets and Chargers — in their second chance to see Tebow — will try to keep the heat on the QB a little more.

Just like I said now it’s probably hasta luego for Tebow to see prevent, oh well, at least we got it twice and made them pay both times.

bay, stats man that you are, here is a website that you may enjoy.

    http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/

  21. baylinorcrush says:

Thanks weatherman, been aware of that site for quite a while, referred to it with stevecan2 in the past, good stuff, but as far as Bronco stuff goes nothing beats the media guide, real book, real pages, just feels better somehow, someting I can touch, my Bronco bible as I like to call it.

  22. seweatherman1 says:

Oh nothing beats the Bronco Bible. I was giving another outlet for stats of other teams players both present as well as past. No, please I would never send anything to anyone to replace the book that we recently received from our team.

I found this site when we had all of these so called ANALysts giving their opinion on some of our players and I just wanted tyo see how their first years stacked up to ours. Seems that the great majority of them (analysts) don’t have a lot of room to be doing the talking they are doing.

  23. Orange27CRUSHER says:

Champ Bailey is such a SOLID player when he is healthy! I think we still need to find, buy, or trade for another complimentary CB opposite of him. I know they are looking and they have found some decent players, but not a GREAT CB as of yet in my opinion. So that is something we could look at during free agency or the draft in 2012. We also need over all help in the DB backfield. Or talent is ageing and having let downs on the field. Over all they played pretty well last Sunday, but we have holes and gaps that we need to improve on!

  24. CarnageBronc says:

Unfortunately, I believe Tim Tebow may end up getting a whole bunch of votes for the Pro Bowl…terrible…I do notice that people hate on Orton for no reason…the guy was on e of the few folks who actually talked to Tebow while he was stinking the field up for 50+ minutes. As far as this team is concerned Colquitt is probably the only player on the squad who deserves legitimate consideration for the Pro Bowl. Bailey has played well, but not often enough. Dawkins has not played very well…he has become a hazard at Safety. I do hate “reading” people bash Orton the way that they have. The same people that complain that Tebow hasn’t been given a “fair shot” forget that Orton was booed from the very moment he took the field, by a bunch of people that just wanted to see Tebow. He has stood in the face of adversity, with every game technically being a road game for him, because he has never had fan support. Through it all, our team has never had an offensive performance as poor as the one we had last week with “SuperTebow” behind the center. People talk about the playbook being dull…they started in the spread running option looks until TT darn near threw a pick six. When they opened it up and tried to go deep, Tebow either threw to a guy wide open out of play on the sideline or he missed him by 20 yards. There was a play where Moreno was RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM and he overthrew him. His performance against structured defenses with something to play for has been laughable. When a team is in prevent and playing just not to lose the game, he has been decent. To often the receiver has had to make the REMARKABLE catch just to reel in one of the ducks he throws down the field. Everyone talked about Orton, but he didn’t get sacked SEVEN times, by a team that came into the game with only 8 sacks on the year. His “magic legs” were supposed to keep that from happening. When he ran, outside of the 20 yard scramble, he was generaly ineffective. Even that scramble didn’t result in a first down, and he took a sack the next play. You can believe in Tebow al you wish, I have no problem with that, all I believe in is the Broncos playing good football. I don’t think our team is very good, I do think EFX are doing what they can through the draft and free agency to make it better, but I believe having Tebow on the squad, handcuffs us to no end. Sidenote, if Tebow were actually that good, then why didn’t anyone try to get him from us? Just something I would like to hear theories on.

  25. baylinorcrush says:

I buy Colquitt the only Bronco player worthy of a pro bowl vote so far.

  26. CarnageBronc says:

Bay…DO NOT….I REPEAT…DO NOT say Tebow was only productive against the PREVENT…the TEBOWMANIACS don’t want to hear that….they want to hear that TEbow came in and sprinkled magic Tebow dust on the ball and the defense fell prey to him suddenly becoming good. they want to imagine that the offensive coordinator said “I give up, it is too hard, Tebow call your own plays and lead us to victory” In each game Tebow has had success that has been the case, which supports the fact that he does a majority of his “great play” in the fourth quarters of games we are behind 2 scores or more. Teams have simply relaxed, taken a load off and started thinking about next week, going through the motions. The whole TEAM, looks better when the other team lowers its’ intensity. I can’t say that kind of stuff though I will be labeled as a n Orton loyalist.

  27. baylinorcrush says:

I respect your neverending defense of your facts backed feelings about Tebow, but a long time ago I realized arguing anything Tebow with Tebow disciples is like trying to reason with a drunk, they are so inebriated by their messiah that in no way shape or form can they hear anything you’re saying.

  28. strandoftds says:

And as usual, Champs playing like a Pro Bowler too. But ya, I didn`t think of Colquitt, he`s got a booming leg this year, strong punts.

  29. Orange27CRUSHER says:

I’m down on Royal – he’s just not the player he was his first two years in Denver. I think they should trade him to Shanahan for a Defender or a draft pick. That seemed to work for Denver in the Clinton Portis for Champ Bailey trade.

Sorry Royal fans, but he is so far down my list even of recievers. I like Decker, Thomas, Willis in that order! Also glad to see a TE catch a pass – I was one of the driving forces to get Daniel Grahm out of town. He was one of the worst pick-up in Denver Bronco History!

    GO BRONCOS!!!

p.s. Still like Royal on Special Teams ONLY!!!

  30. strandoftds says:

It`s early though for Pro Bowl votes.

  31. strandoftds says:

Isn`t this the last year of Royals contract? If so, he`s a FA.

  32. orangemnm says:

I agree with you Carnage on the fact that Tebow played awful for 55 minutes of that game.

Orton, however, was not talking to Tebow from any camera shot that I saw. They did show them sitting next to one another, but they were not talking. For all we know, Tebow walked over to him and sat down.

You say Dawkins is a liability, but he is playing amazing, especially in the last 3 games. Yes, he had a rough start, agreed.

Tebow is not the “magic” (by himself) that will win games. He does give it his all though. His all may or may not be good enough, time will tell, but I would rather have a guy that plays ugly giving it everything he has, rather than a guy who looks good while just collecting a paycheck.

  33. seweatherman1 says:

What I see needs to be done is the NFL needs to go to every single college, university, or whatever that has a football team and simply tell them…

“Look, this is how it is in the NFL these days. You need to change your programs and playing style to what we do. What you are doing at this level is hurting all of your propective draftees. None of them will any longer get the opportunity to adapt to our form of play. If they can’t perform with a winning season their first season on our playing field they will not make it in the NFL.”

Personally, I don’t know why this was not done years ago. Make these college players play like pros right when they come out of high school. That would simplify everything.

  34. seweatherman1 says:

    new blog

  35. CarnageBronc says:

to me Orange that is just people hating on Orton to be hating on him….you never saw Tebow go over and talk to Orton during games….matter of fact that same “leadership” you didn’t see at all until he got a chance to play….so who was sulking

  36. henryac says:

seweatherman1, Why? Is it the job of the colleges to prepare players for the pros? If that is the case, why doesn’t the NFL pay for their education as well as the whole athletic program? Colleges are colleges, pros are pros. What about all the other players who will never play a down in the pros, do we put them on the sidelines because they will never be pro level players? Such a small percentage of players end up in the pros anyway that changing college football for those few would most certainly be allowing the tail to wag the dog. That might very well cause me to stop watching both!

  37. buck484 says:

I feel that every time I read anything on this site(with the exception of a few)our fans are tearing this team down. If its not Orton its Fox or xanders or the greatest bronco of all time John Elway. Can it be that easy to manage an Nfl team? I don’t think so. We have much talent on our squad and front office. I think Champ is playing great and Miller is proving his worth. Colquitt is a great punter and I hope Doom keeps improving. Fan support needs to start here. We are supposed to be the biggest fans of all. Let’s quit the bickering and get behind whoever is on the field. I am neither an Orton or Tebow fan. I am a Bronco fan.

  38. gdingel says:

I thought this blog was about Pro Bowl voting? I think we have a couple guys who deserve votes. Clady, Bailey, Miller, and Woodyard all have played well and deserve the votes. Thoughts?

  39. baylinorcrush says:

Colquitt is it in my mind, you should of taken the time to read the posts.

  40. baylinorcrush says:

We’re talking pro bowl worthy performances, like top two or three in the entire league at their craft, we’re not talking playing well.

  41. strandoftds says:

Our defense is getting better. I`m looking forward to see how our D looks in a year or two. If it wasn`t for our D last Sunday, there`s no comeback to talk about. A big Mile High solute to our DEFENSE!!

  42. RH709 says:

SoCal and Daddybronc: I just want to join in on the Cali lovefest lol. I was born and raised in Ridgecrest, CA but now I live up north in Chico (yes, the home of Aaron Rodgers).

If I can find a job down south at Edwards AFB or something I will be coming home :)

Go California Broncos fans! With the 9ers, faiders, and bolts fans: we are few and far between.

  43. CarnageBronc says:

I will repeat my earlier stance of Colquitt being our only Pro Bowl worthy player this year. I say that too as one of the largest Champ Bailey fans you will ever meet. Miller DROY but not Pro Bowl. Clady has been heavily penalized and it is hard to support anyone on the line when they are giving up so many sacks and not providing many running lanes.

  44. strandoftds says:

If there is a new blog today, my computor won`t let me accept it, get to it. Is there a problem with the Broncos Country website. I`ve seen no new posts since 10:10 a.m. I`m trippen.

  45. strandoftds says:

Somebody fill me in, is this still the last blog up to date?
