After a day off, the rested Broncos were back on the field at Dove Valley Monday for an afternoon practice.
The team went through their positional drills and team sessions before facing the challenge of some situational football at the end of practice.
ROLL CALL
Linebacker D.J. Williams and running back LenDale White participated after missing several practices.
Syd’Quan Thompson did not practice and watched the session in shorts with injured wideout Demaryius Thomas.
The first-team offense and defense mirrored the depth chart released today except at the defensive tackle position where Marcus Thomas and Ty Warren saw some first-team in action in place of Kevin Vickerson.
DAILY JUKEBOX
Here is a list of the three songs played during the team stretch.
1. “Put On” – Young Jeezy
2. “Enter Sandman” -Metallica
3. “My Life, Your Entertainment” – T.I.
DRILL STATIONS
The defense continued to practice forcing turnovers as they worked on a strip drill to start practice. Players from each position group worked on stripping the ball loose when coming at a player from behind.

The linebackers later worked on avoiding cut blocks around their legs while the defensive backs practiced backpedaling and breaking on the ball.
The secondary also participated in a unique drill where they were told to shove a blocker down and stop a giant red ball rolling towards them in quick succession before wrapping up an oncoming ball carrier.
The running backs spent a good amount time running routes and catching passes out of the backfield.

ONE-ON-ONES

PLAYMAKERS
Today was a tough day to be matched up with Brandon Lloyd.
The NFL’s leading receiver from a year ago caught almost everything thrown his way, making life a little easier for quarterback Kyle Orton.
At the start of a 7-on-7 session, Orton fired a ball through traffic to Lloyd, who saw the ball bounce off his chest and into the air, but the receiver located the ball and brought down the reception off the rebound.
(Watch the highlight on Facebook.)
Later, Orton launched about a 50-yard pass to Lloyd, who got past safety Rahim Moore over the top to make the easy touchdown reception.
In team drills, Lloyd was at it again as he made a diving catch on a crossing pattern over the middle.
Moore would redeem himself in team drills as he stayed stride-for-stride with Willis on a deep post, forcing Orton to look elsewhere and eventually throw the ball away.
Running back Willis McGahee had one of best runs of the session as he found a hole on the left side and picked up a nice gain before being ushered to the sideline by Wesley Woodyard.
2-MINUTE CHALLENGE
Towards the end of practice the team was presented with a late-game scenario.
Starting at their own 35-yard line, the offense had 1:40 on the clock with zero timeouts to complete a drive — down a single point to the defense.

Orton was first to lead the no-huddle offense and he set up field goal attempt after a completion over the middle to Willis, but Matt Prater missed the long-range attempt wide left.
Quarterback Brady Quinn was up next and he got a quick first down on a pass to David Anderson but Jeremy Jarmon recorded a sack on the next play. Quinn then tried to hit Julius Thomas but the pass was cut off by Joe Mays, who made the interception and wisely slid to the ground.
Tim Tebow took his turn and he faced constant pressure as he threw his first two passes away with pressure in his face. He was barely able to get his third pass off and it was intercepted by David Bruton.
HAIL MARY
The final practice segment presented this scenario for the offense: four seconds left with the ball at the opponent’s 40-yard line. Time for one shot at the end zone.
Orton’s first attempt was knocked down in the end zone by Moore. He appeared to be sacked by Jarmon during his second attempt, but coaches let play continue and Orton connected with Britt Davis just past the goal line for the score.
Brady Quinn got one shot at the drill, but the defense was there to bat away the attempt in the end zone.

Also no problem at all dude. It`s just Strand is my last name my friend. It`s cool.
Killerkod, thats good to know. Glad to see some Canadians that enjoy the NFL. Who`s your NHL team?
Let me make a couple things clear, I never called anyone stupid, I did suggest some of you were ignorant for ignoring the facts concerning the issue being discussed. There is a big difference between being ignorant and stupid, I’d suggest a dictonary.
The “not a fan” statements where made with one purpous in mind. It was to elevate your commitment to the Denver Broncos as a team. To remind you that no one player is bigger than the team and hopefully to get you behind the team, supporting each and every player and coach.
I support all the players and staff of the Denver Broncos. Like many, I’m a fan of T. Tebow. That doesn’t mean I think he is qualified to be the starting QB of the Broncos. Supprisingly, I’ve become somewhat of a fan of K. Orton though all this QB ordeal. He has been poised and professional throughout this entire mess, I admire him for it. The same goes for the coach Fox, who I’m fast becoming a big fan of as our head coach. We have the third toughest schedule in the NFL this season, we haven’t lost a game yet. Cheer for your team and help the players perform to their best ability. Go Broncos!
The thing with Orton is he’s not a leader & he can’t play under pressure. As far as coach Fox I will have to wait & see how good of a coach he really is. Remember he coached Carolina last year & only won 2 games.
this is going to be a big year for us with Dumervil coming back and the addition of Von Miller. I think Champ Bailey is also going to have a great year. We should definitely be contending for the division title 100%
