The final day of the draft is upon us, and rounds four through seven are about to begin. The Broncos have five picks today, starting with No. 108 overall.
Look below for a feature we found on Youtube on one of the newest Broncos, N.C. State linebacker Nate Irving.
10:33 a.m. MDT: The Broncos are on the clock at No. 108 in the fourth round.
10:37 a.m. MDT: The pick is in — Oklahoma safety Quinton Carter. We’ll have more on him on the front of DenverBroncos.com shortly.
11:34 a.m. MDT: The Broncos have traded up to the No. 129 overall selection, and have gone with Portland State tight end Julius Thomas. It was a trade with the Green Bay Packers. The Broncos received No. 129 and a seventh-rounder, No. 204, in exchange for a fifth and sixth rounder, No. 141 and No. 186.
The picks remaining are Nos. 189, 204 and 247. That’s a sixth and two sevenths. We’ll have more on Thomas on the front of DenverBroncos.com shortly.
2:24 p.m. MDT: The Indianapolis Colts are on the clock at No. 188, so the Broncos select next. Sorry for the lack of updates on the blog, with yesterday’s picks visiting the building and so much action on the draft board today, we’re trying to bring you as much content on the front of DenverBroncos.com as possible. Looks like Indy’s pick is in as I type this, so the Broncos are on the clock.
2:26 p.m. MDT: Denver’s pick is in — Mike Mohamed, inside linebacker from California. We’ll have more information on the two-time All-Pac 10 player on the front of DenverBroncos.com shortly.
3:05 p.m. MDT: The Broncos are on the clock with the first pick in the seventh round. Denver has one pick remaining after this one at No. 247.
3:07 p.m. MDT: The pick is in, and it’s Nevada tight end Virgil Green. We’ll have more on Green on the front of DenverBroncos.com shortly.
5:03 p.m. MDT: The Broncos’ final pick is one spot away — Cincinnati is on the clock at No. 246, and Denver’s last selection comes at 247. After the pick, check DenverBroncos.com for more information, and be sure to head to the 2011 NFL Draft page for all the coverage in a central location.
5:05 p.m. MDT: RB Jay Finley from Baylor heads to the Bengals, and the Broncos are on the clock…
5:09 p.m. MDT: The pick is in — it’s Oklahoma defensive end Jeremy Beal. In his career, he racked up 223 tackles and 29 sacks in his career, earning 2010 Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year.
That’ll do it for the draft blog. We’ll have even more content on the site later today.

Something good to note. Safety Quinton Carter and DE/LB Jeremy Beal both played for Oklahoma. So they may be on the same page and feeding off of each other on the field together, know what I mean. Just saw they played together. Thats 3 or four years on the same team already. I like that.
Talking of turkey is making me hungry. LOL
Hey guys, just wanted to check in and see what everyone else thought about our draft class. I still read a lot of the posts but I had to avoid the temptation of getting involved this semester – because it’s been a busy one and once I get started I have a hard time stopping as many of you know. I really enjoyed this year’s draft and I hope that we can come to a new CBA sooner than later. I wanna check out training camp! Like the rest of you I was very excited to see us draft where our needs were and at the right price. I was bummed we didn’t get a DT but I have faith in the trio and they know they need to address it whenever FA starts. I found it funny they still found plenty of time to bad mouth Tebow a year after he was drafted. With all the QBs selected I think Orton might be here for another year. Personally I think we all seen him hit his ceiling long ago, and after the way he conducted himself when he lost the starting job last year, I just don’t have any desire to see him in a Bronco uniform. Again I have faith in EFX, as someone called it the other day haha, and I know Tebow will get his time to shine. Aside from Von Miller I am very intrigued by Julius Thomas. Have the stars aligned to deliver us an Antonio Gates in the 4th round? I’m definitely glad we have two young safeties coming in. Franklin looks like a tough as nails tackle/guard with a great motor. I’m excited by it all really. Great draft class! I’m just curious to see how all the annalists grade us.
After this years experience, you can see that spending a lot of time pre-draft hypothesizing what will happen is just a big waste of time … even having a draft contest is like pxxxing into the wind … it is exciting watching it unfold, however … I like the 3 offensive picks we made … those were really for need, I would say … can you imagine the competition at tight end and linebacker and DB (cb/safety) when training camp starts … sure hope things get back to “normal” soon …
That will help them both, having someone to lean on, a familiar face. I’m happy with Carter man I took him out of my mock right before I posted it… should have gone with my gut he can bring it boy!!! this is what I had in my back pocket
My 1st of course was:
***Official Contest Entry***
Round 1 #2 – Marcell Dareus
Round 2 #36 – Martez Wilson
Round 2#46 – Mikel Leshore
Round 3#67 – Tyler Sash – I just had traded out Carter
My second guess
#2 – Marcell Dareus
#36 – Marvin Austin
#46 – Martez Wilson
#67 – Quinton Carter
Third
#2 – Von Miller [LB]
#36 – Stephen Paea [DT]
#46 – Mikel Leshore [RB]
#67 – Allen Bailey [DT]
And a shocker that I kept secret LMAO!!
1st Round 2 pick – PP [CB}
2nd Round 4th pick #36 overall- Martez Wilson [MLB]
2nd Round Pick 14 #46 overall – Allen Bailey [DE]
3rd Round Pick 3 #67 overall – Benjamin Ijalana [OT]
6th Round Pick 28 via NE #186 overall – Owen Marecic [FB]
7th Round Pick 2 #194 overall – Terrell McClain [DT]
OTHER 7th Round Options Include:
DT Colby Whitlock, TTU
ILB Scott Lutrus, UConn
FB/TE Charles Clay, Tulsa
I could have gotten at least 2 right but didn’t think it would go quite like this:
Round 1 #2 Von Miller [LB]
Round 2 #13 Rahim Moore [FS]
Round 2 #14 Orlando Franklin [OL]
Round 3 #67 Nate Irving [LB]
then
Round 4 #108 Quinton Carter [S]
Round 4 #129 Julius Thomas [TE]
Round 6 #189 Mike Mohamed [LB]
Round 7 #204 Virgil Green [TE]
Round 7 #247Jeremy Beal [DL}
You did your homework, alot of dissecting there.
Great draft overall. This club needs a couple yrs and a couple drafts to have the depth that I think is needed to churn out sleeper draft picks into every week quality starters whether its under a few years of mentoring or immediately. Depth breeds competition. I still agonize (when I let it sink in and I don’t allow it to much now, the thought of Peyton Hillis with Moreno). Great start and solid talented, class characters. Very happy with the front office and Coach Fox first draft. Coach Fox has an eye for defensive talent and I don’t see that changing. Elway knows what to look for in film and not at the ‘combine tangible numbers’ and see the intangibles imo.
Anyway, I am posting to see if anyone can find a link on what the Broncose traded exactly to get some of the picks they did and who they were with exactly. This year draft picks or next years?? etc. I’m happy they turned out 9 picks. I can’t hold back my excitement of the playmaking ability of Von Miller!
They didn’t trade the #2 overall and still ended up with 9 players to bring in!
I’m dying to know what picks they traded away and got for those ones. Glad they stacked up some middle round picks. List is endless of 2nd and 3rd round picks that are STUDS in the NFL. No need to mention the likes of Terrell Davis, Dumervil, Eddie Royal, and even though Brandon Marshall is gone…
Any link would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Lets make some noise in Mile High. The visitors need to know that Mile High normally equals a loss again!! Love the OL #2 pick also. Beast is written all over him. We have the O-Line. Time to get the D-Line… Damn Chiefs turned in a great card I thought. San Diego did great again and Oakland isn’t the fools as years past. The time to judge will be in a few years though.
GO ORANGE & BLUE!!! ALL DAY/ALL NIGHT!!!
I did like the prospect of PP being under Champs wing but can’t have Miller (the cake) and PP (eat it too)…?
haha
Just snapped they have Beal listed as DL
At my #67 pick 3rd round I picked OT/G Marcus Cannon from TCU. He`s the player that could have gone in the 2nd or 3rd round. They just recently found a tumor in his stomach. Cannon started chemo on Wednsday and is about 10-12 weeks recovery, and 80% to 90% success rate. He weighs 360lbs. A big dude.
We trade NO 2012 picks at all.
I hear you watercrews22 especially on this comment:

And this is the only link (Broncos website) that I know of that you can compare the picks we had to the picks we got. It shows from what team we got the picks from hope this helps a little…
http://prod.www.broncos.clubs.nfl.com/schedule-and-events/draft.html
We traded 141 and 186 and moved up to 129 to select TE Julius Thomas from Oregon State. We also got pick #204 in the proccess.
It shows the picks in order on the right side of the page not really in depth but all I can offer… Sorry
new blog.

the broncos had a good draft this year
Very much appreciated guys. Glad to know we churned out the extra depth and kept our picks for next year (esp with a new rookie wage system all the more likely of course). Here’s to solidifying the foundation in Broncos Country!
What’s up all!……beautiful day in NJ!. I’m really liking our draft. Usually I only check out the big names leading up to the draft…but I do my research after we make our picks and I’m seeing three definite starters and 1 possible( Franklin). I know we you’re starting at the bottom you can’t help but go up, but I’m really pleased with what Foxxy and Elway did with our picks. I’m glad we added new starters, depth, and competition at numerous positions! I’m thinking they will address DL in free agency. My christmas list now only has one thing on it left……..a certain Free agent CB from a division rival……one can dream can’t we……….
free agency choices…. ANY THOUGHTS? i want a certain CB as well!! haha
