The Broncos headed back to INVESCO Field at Mile High Friday morning for a practice closed to the public.
Just a quick note — all practice times are subject to change, and some sessions next week have been shuffled around. Be sure to check the Fan Information Guide for the full schedule, or call the training camp hotline — (720) 258-3709.
Eddie Royal and Marquez Branson were among the players back at practice after sitting out Thursday’s afternoon session. Despite wearing full pads, the team practiced at a walkthrough speed. For that reason, the majority of the highlights Friday morning came on the offensive side of the ball.
OFFENSE VS. DEFENSE
In the first play of 11-on-11s, Mario Haggan pushed his blocker into the backfield to stop a run by Bruce Hall behind the line of scrimmage.
Later in practice, Kevin Alexander sprinted into the backfield for what would’ve been a sack on Brady Quinn.
Brandon Stokley got involved throughout the session, catching a screen pass for big yardage during 11-on-11s, hauling in deep passs from Kyle Orton and Quinn during 7-on-7s and punching it into the end zone during a red-zone drill, rolling over the goal-line after hauling in a pass.
Hall found the corner on a run during 11-on-11s thanks to a block by Spencer Larsen.
Lance Ball cut his run through a hole on the right side of the line, sprinting into the defensive secondary. Richard Quinn limped over to Head Athletic Trainer Steve Antonopulos after the play.
Tim Tebow tossed a screen pass to Toney Baker, who sprinted his way for another big gain. Tebow spoke with Offensive Coordinator Mike McCoy afterwards.
QUICK HITS
The team kicked off this morning’s session by running through pregame drills, focusing on their gameday routine that will go into effect Saturday at Cincinnati.
At the start of practice, tight ends caught passes from position coach Bob Ligashesky as their teammates hit them with blocking pads to simulate tight coverage.
During special teams drills, Britton Colquitt worked on punting from the back of his own end zone. He boomed it past the 50-yard line on each attempt.
Toward the end of the session, the offense worked on starting a drive at its own 1-yard line. After two plays, Colquitt once again punted from the back of his end zone — this time to the opposite 37-yard line, where Perrish Cox was back deep to receive. On the next play, the team threw in a fake punt to make sure everyone was prepared.
Below are pictures from the session. The team travels to Cincinnati tomorrow.

Well im watching all the preseason games now and KC and Jacksonville look absolutely TERRIBLE!!! No worries with them!!
Haha, and now Cassel just fumbled the ball. The Faiders and quiefs will still be in the last two spots of our division!!!
I love me some Broncos Country!
Sounds like the Bronco`s had a good practice today.
So I’m watching the Bills vs Skins game and ummmm…… Ryan Torrain doesn’t even look right in those colors. Matter of fact he doesn’t even look comfortable! Hahaha
The sooo called great Succop just missed a 53 yd field goal. Prater would’ve made it!!!
I just had a vision. Bronco`s are down by 4 points with less than a minute to go and have the ball at the 35 yard line. They need to go 65 yards and a touch down against the Bengals defence. Can it be deja vu all over again. The balls in the air and Stokley catches a deflected pass! Oh my God, can it be!? It`s a touch down! Brandon Stokley in for the score! Bronco`s have just won Again against the Bengals on a incredable play again By Stokley! Wow! But who cares, it`s only preseason. I just thought I`d get the blood going. I`m ready for some FOOTBALL! Bring it on!
Either the Skins look that good or the bills are just horrible.
Everybodys gone, It must be beer thirty. I need a cold one.
Strand…Bills have played soo poorly but McNabb has done really good! Also Desean Jackson has played very well today! The second and third string players look like they should be the first string players for the Jaguars! Garrard played poorly and their backup qb’s played more professionally then he did! Also, Cassel struggled the whole time he was in the game and so did their offense and defense!
I think things to look at the most during the preseason games for us is Cox, Thomas, Deck, Colquitt, Offensive Line, Defensive Line, Linebackers, and of course, Tebow!
Haha, ohh yea…
I love me some Denver Broncos!!
Also in the preseason, definitely listen and watch Phonsie! I hope he makes some great plays and proves his worth!
I love me some Broncos Country!
Also guys, keep a close look at Marquez Branson!! McD has compared him to Jason Witten and Antonio Gates!!
Sorry for interrupting. Just a FYI
I have some suggestions for my fellow Bronco posters that have been having problems of late.
XP Pro likes to have .Net frame 3.5, you should also have Java Script 6 update 2 or better. If you are asked to run Active X say yes. You can go to http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp to get the Java upload its free. For the Microsoft .Net framework go to http://www.microsoft.com/net/ (you will have to type this into your browser ) after loading both then reboot and see what happens. No promises here just advice!! Also Firefox and and any other web browser like Google chrome don’t” play well. IE 7 or better is the trick. Hope this helps.
GO BRONCOS

Well guys I would like to share a very humorous story with everyone…I live in NC and just went to IHOP with my uncle and I and am wearing a broncos tebow shirt and broncos hat and our waitress looked at my shirt and asked me if I played for the pintos!!!!!! I really didn’t know whether to laugh or just feel completely lost and explained to her about our team and asked her if she knew who John Elway was and she said doesn’t he make clothes or is a clothing designer!!!!!!! I nearly cried after that!
I love me some Broncos Country and some John Elway!!!
Hahaha, tell em Beast!!
Haha, just looks like me and you on tonight Beast!
Can Sunday PLEASE hurry up and get here?? I am soooo bored with watching other people play their preseason games. I have watched every single preseason game so far! I also put together our depth chart tonight of everyone on our roster and had them categorized by position and number so that I can mark down everything our backups do and everything else…
If you would like a copy of the depth chart I made just post your e-mail and I will happily send it to you. It is a microsoft document! It’s a lot easier to keep up with compared to our alpabetical depth chart they have on our homepage and I made it only a page long…very easy to find a player as quick as you need!!!
I love me some Broncos Country!!!
is Branson gunna play sunday or is he hurt? ha I was playin the Bengals on Madden today and had a tipped pass that went to stokes for a 65yd score!
I have a comment awaiting moderation. How long does that take?
broncosfreak30
Humm—I will have me a short stack with Colorado pintos and some extra crispy fader bacon. And some crybaby chargers cream with my coffee and don’t forget the boring ordinary flat KC sauce for my eggs. And if its after a night like BFE92 had you could add a Tall Glass of some Denver Broncos kick ass Coors Beer with a dap of Tomato Juice in it. LoL.
GO BRONCOS
FTR
Make that two on FTR’s order broncosfreak30!! lol!
Good one FTR!!
GO BRONCOS !!!
I hope orton can stat of the game with a deep pass. So he can show this will be part of our game. Not just be about screen passes or quick passes. We all know what happened in baltimore. We also get a rematch againts those a**w***** we were doing so good until they shut us down. If it was me playing madden I would of beat them by 30 points. I know it’s a game but that hurt alot. Come in denver bring the pain!!! Man I just can’t wait for the season to get strated!!!
60 MINUTES OF FOOTBALL GO BRONCOS!!!
FTR, rb1….
Hahahaha, yea thats definitely an order I could use right about now!! Can’t wait boys, only 28 more hours until our boys are out on the field!!
Maybe i should just make it 5:00 now and start drinking so kickoff time will be here sooner than I know it???
I love me some Broncos Country!!!

What is everyones gamertag that plays Madden 11 on xbox live??? Please post!
lets get this show on the row!!! But just one more day to see what mcd has for us . Since I read he has installed more plays, maybe that shows mcd has trust on orton that he can do what he wants him to do!!! That just my own opinion.

I’m super ready for the game tomorrow. Orton is having a good camp supposedly. Let’s see how he plays without an orange jersey on. I sure hope it’s not some sorry excuse for a preseason like last year. I look for teebs to have a good game. I suspect he will jump quinn on the depth chart and solve our 53 man roster dilemma. I’m also looking forward to how ayers can fill the void left by dooms injury.
posting to see!
Finally a pre-season game I really want to see. Lets go Broncos. Finally.
posting 2 c posts.
8 hours and counting!
