The Broncos headed back to INVESCO Field at Mile High Friday morning for a practice closed to the public.
Just a quick note — all practice times are subject to change, and some sessions next week have been shuffled around. Be sure to check the Fan Information Guide for the full schedule, or call the training camp hotline — (720) 258-3709.
Eddie Royal and Marquez Branson were among the players back at practice after sitting out Thursday’s afternoon session. Despite wearing full pads, the team practiced at a walkthrough speed. For that reason, the majority of the highlights Friday morning came on the offensive side of the ball.
OFFENSE VS. DEFENSE
In the first play of 11-on-11s, Mario Haggan pushed his blocker into the backfield to stop a run by Bruce Hall behind the line of scrimmage.
Later in practice, Kevin Alexander sprinted into the backfield for what would’ve been a sack on Brady Quinn.
Brandon Stokley got involved throughout the session, catching a screen pass for big yardage during 11-on-11s, hauling in deep passs from Kyle Orton and Quinn during 7-on-7s and punching it into the end zone during a red-zone drill, rolling over the goal-line after hauling in a pass.
Hall found the corner on a run during 11-on-11s thanks to a block by Spencer Larsen.
Lance Ball cut his run through a hole on the right side of the line, sprinting into the defensive secondary. Richard Quinn limped over to Head Athletic Trainer Steve Antonopulos after the play.
Tim Tebow tossed a screen pass to Toney Baker, who sprinted his way for another big gain. Tebow spoke with Offensive Coordinator Mike McCoy afterwards.
QUICK HITS
The team kicked off this morning’s session by running through pregame drills, focusing on their gameday routine that will go into effect Saturday at Cincinnati.
At the start of practice, tight ends caught passes from position coach Bob Ligashesky as their teammates hit them with blocking pads to simulate tight coverage.
During special teams drills, Britton Colquitt worked on punting from the back of his own end zone. He boomed it past the 50-yard line on each attempt.
Toward the end of the session, the offense worked on starting a drive at its own 1-yard line. After two plays, Colquitt once again punted from the back of his end zone — this time to the opposite 37-yard line, where Perrish Cox was back deep to receive. On the next play, the team threw in a fake punt to make sure everyone was prepared.
Below are pictures from the session. The team travels to Cincinnati tomorrow.

I use a mac computer and use safari, I never have to post to see. Maybe you guys could try downloading safari for windows and see if you still have to post to see.
Well, it was nice to see marshall drop his to catches yesterday, rain or not, he was known for dropping a lot of balls.
Can’t wait for the game. Did anyone else see Brandon Marshall drop some EASY passes? Love it!
Gameday!

GO BRONCOS 2K10!!!!!!!!!! Crush Cincy
sndvl – great vid. It’s been years since I’ve played but that gave me goosebumps.
any news on D THomas or Decker? will they be playing tonight or are they out?
I saw this video the other day when Coop posted it on his blog, not a fan of country music, but some good football stuff in there as sndvl says.
Been off since Friday, just got back from the Orange Crush, probably wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for the game, excited to watch how Orton and the O line are developping. For the ones out here who are excited about seeing us crush the Bengals, don’t hold your breath, pre season game scores don’t mean jack to the HC, specially the first one, he really doesn’t have a game plan designed specifically for Cinci, just a plan on using stuff they need to work on as I said three days ago, so relax and just enjoy seeing how our team is evolving in all aspects of the game, not demolishing the Bengals, because if nothing else Cinci already has a game under their belt, we don’t, if they beat us it would only make sense.
Anyhow, to prove my point about the game and what it means, this is what McD said about it a couple days ago as reported by Shermar Woods:
“We’re realistic with what we’re going to go there and try to get done,” McDaniels said. “We’re not going to do too much. We’re going to be fairly simple and try to play fast and execute. And try to build from it no matter what happens.”
So forget watching the score, you would be better served watching the execution. And never forget teams have gone 0-4 in pre season only to win it all, and many, many teams have gone 4-0 in the pre season and didn’t even make the playoffs. Pre season scores mean NOTHING. Real bad teams often have better results because they are so into building the morale of their team that they will play their starters longer and get more into game planning. Guess what, come September all teams will still be 0-0. If there is one pre season game that has a little more meaning than others, it’s the third one, the last dress rehearsal with starters playing at least a half, and some into the third quarter also, the fourth game is basically for all the 3rd and 4 stringers to show the coach what they got to help him making his ensuing roster cuts.
Of course all this stuff was for the young or inexperienced fans out here who may not know everything about pre season values, I realize most others know plenty about pre season, but I would agree that in re-buliding years such as this one, it’s a bit more intertesting to watch, like Tebow for one.
OR56, read the previous page of this blog, KFS talks about Thomas and Decker and their availabilty for tonight.
posting to see
Looking forward to seeing the Broncos on the field vs a Foe of any kind. Barbeque a burger, drink a Beer and look for the changes McD has been putting in to the playbook. I will be taking a close look at the O line. Where the TE lines up, that sort of thing. I am sure it will be basic stuff. But it will be new to me. Like the players I need to learn what my Broncos are going to be.
GO BRONCOS
FTR
Kickoff is after midnight over here and it’s not available to view, but with so much excitement I’m going to stay up and try to stream the game…
Didn’t the lions go 4-0 in pre and then 0-16 in the season a couple of years ago?
Don’t mind if big plays go against us and we lose, but want to see o-line and d-line at least match cincy, if not overpower them.
And a few wins wouldn’t hurt morale with all that has happened over the last year…..
I wish i could see the game but i have to follow online where i live i only get broncos games maybe 4 or 5 times a season but that wont stop me from supporting them. BRONCOS ROCK
49ers and Colts currently playing. Former Bronco Tom Brandstater came in during 4th Qtr as he relieved Curtis Painter who threw three picks. Brandstater had a 3 yd dart for a score.
Currently 49ers-34
Colts-17
Almost time to kickoff a new season for us!!
I know it’s only pre-season but it will be good to see our boys take the field!!
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!
Unfortunately Im gonna miss tonights game cuz I will be in church but I will definitely record it. Good luck to the Blue and Orange. If they suck, no surprise, if they do good, at least its a indication (even tho its preseason) that there is something good to look forward to this year. But all I have been hearing from camp is theyve mad mistakes, need to improve, etc etc. So I dont expect fluidity tonight, Just Broncos football. TRB out…
Don’t worry TRB your missing it for a good reason. Brandstater also threw a INT before the TD
2 hours and counting…
My eyes will be on the Oline that’s where our season rides.IMO
Hope to see some big hits from our young DBs..hope Ayers and Haggan step it up too.I guess we’ll see how Fargas does as well.I think Buck is coming back next week, interesting who we’ll keep at RB,you know Moreno,White, and Fargas will be here,I guess it’s between Buck,Carter,Hall, and Ball on the depth chart,of course I don’t know how many RB’s we’ll carry this year!!!
Is there a reason why the blogs for the game keep getting shut down?
