In the lead-up to the 2011 NFL Draft, the Broncos are allowed to invite 30 prospects to Denver for a private workout. According to Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway on Twitter, the Broncos will knock out 13 of those visits just this week.
“Busy week ahead with 13 of our 30 allotted draft prospect visits scheduled to meet with us at our facility,” Elway wrote. “Da’Quan Bowers, Nick Fairley and Von Miller are among the players that we are bringing in this week. These visits are an opportunity for us to get to know the prospects better personally and also gauge their football knowledge.”
All three of those players have been tied to the Broncos in recent mock drafts, and a Denver contingent has been to pro days at Texas A&M and Auburn, where Miller and Fairley, respectively, worked out.

A little small to my liking for a NFL safety at 6′, 198 lbs and considered a third or fourth round pick, so would have to use our 3rd since we have no 4th, seems rather expensive…
Wow if you did not like Madden last year wait until this year comes out. They are taking away head first hitting. How boring!

This is an effort to try to teach young kids the importance of concussions. Me being young myself I have to say this is stupid. When I got games as a kid I never imitated them such as driving games, especially Call of Duty because I know life does not work like that. The point of video games are fantasy worlds to have fun.
I don’t know anything about the game, but it sounds like as they are licensed by the NFL, they must be told of the guidelines they can operate with and of course head hits are strictly forbidden. It’s supposed to resemble the NFL game, right?
It’s not the video game they are not making fun anymore, it’s the real one!
I will not purchase any NFL licensed products for 1 year from the date a CBA or some other form of working agreement is made between owners and players. I will tell everybody in my family that I’m not going to accept any licensed products as gifts. I will not spend any money for tickets, parking or concessions in 2011. If there is a 2011 season. I will not purchase Sunday Ticket from direcTV nor will my brother. I will not purchase any item that is an official sponsor of the NFL. That is my boycott.
Yet they still make money from us blogging…
How do you figure that one out?
The only advertisement I see on here is from the NFLN and they are owned by the league…..
Do they make you pay a blogging fee since you’re from down under? LOL.
Advertising Bay, they have ads on these blogs, most from verizon or NFL ads but they are there and are targetted at users (us). It really depends on what sort of contract they are on, but Verizon or whoever pay for the ad space. It could be by click, so everytime you view the page the Broncos make money, not lots like a few cents, but it adds up. Or it could be grouped together, pay X for X amount of views. Or they could just pay for the space up front. There is advertisment on the home page too. So they make money off us, not lots but some.
Haha no Bay, put they would make a little money off advertisment, like sponsors pay for space.
The NFLN isn’t owned by the Broncos so they would have to pay for the space I believe, the Broncos wouldn’t do it for free I believe. Unless they had too by contract?
Yeah I heard that, about Madden, on Mike & Mike. I think this is the most absurd thing to implement into a video game. It’s not like it’s a simulation on how to play the game of football! lol… It is a video game, just like the NBA games focus on slam dunks to make the game more entertaining — for example on Madden if they want the game to be so life like how come I have the option to turn off player fatigue or injuries? I can even make the quarters 1 minute long, or on Madden ’10 they have the whole ‘rewind a play’ system so that if I don’t like the previous play I can ‘rewind’ the play and have a retry. That is far from being realistic but it’s in there for entertainment. As to what the rules are in the actual game of football, kids get coached on that not taught on Madden. Kids are coached to know that they cant have a retry if the other team scores a touchdown, just like there taught to know that they can’t come in late and take a cheap shot when a players down. Oh well just looks like another thing thats going to annoy fans further and lose the NFL revenue.
Anyway, good to hear sndvl, you the man! And everyone can do that! Maybe not season ticket holders, but they can do their own boycott of everything sold at the stadium, everyone has the power to do something if they are truly upset by the way we are being treated, just like second class citizens at best.
You’re over reaching Aussie, and that’s not the point anyway.
Yeah just thinking out loud, meh, the NFL takes our money in many different ways haha a little advertising won’t hurt.
I bet we’re not the only blog formulating boycotts. Someone needs to unite the blogs. Bay, I nominate you to represent us in forming the NFLFA (fan association).
Vibe05 said he’s been on it… IDK
From these post he looks to be taking with other bloggers on banning week one, but he hasn’t said much since.

We are only boycotting week1. Not the draft or the rest of the season. According to cincy forums and Detroit we have over 100 000 agreeing to boycott. And it’s only been 2 days of it being posted. So we reach 50 000 yeas a day come week1 were looking good. It does look like we are being childish but so are they. Hopefully the media will catch onto this and Force the owners and players to see. And we won’t have to boycott.

I am not at home right now. I’m on my phone here. But as I said earlier I will copy and post it to broncos country. All I can do is ask for you to check it out. Before you judge. I hope it stays up on our forum for at least aweek before they pull it. If they wanna ban me then so be it.
Maybe he got banned lol
I`ll boycott from buying anything from the NFL up to a year. No problems there.
Interesting development.

Mike Vrabel arrested for robbery at a casino. Isn’t he one of the head-honchoes of the NFLPA? I also remember him giving McDaniels the bird during our beat down of the Chiefs at Arrowhead a couple years back. I don’t like him.
I can boycott the NFL well and good but dunno about madden, its like my only solice altho if they try to make the game like real life I might not want it. Next thing u know they will probably have a portion of the game where you can play as a Owner or Player and “beach” about billions of dollars.
The game does teach people how to tackle…its a freaking game. I didn’t even know there was helmet to helmet contact in madden. They should be fixing the real issues of the game instead of focusing on something that silly. We play the game for excitement not for the rules. All we need it to do is be realistic enough not to the T. Heck players learn from coaches to be head hunters …. not video game. Sure they will let them know the rules but they prolly also tell em to “take em out”. Fiery speeches and all that. I dont think most people learn the game of football through madden … if you dont already know the game, you can barely play it and probably will have little desire to play it. The love for the game comes first, and then is supplemented with purchase of video game version….
And about these players doing dumb stuff… Jesus Christ can they be any dummer. I swear its like they need every second of their time planned so they dont do dumb stuff and without offseason and training camp and the discipline and time they need to keep, they do dumb stuff. I expect more from Vrabel because he is 35 over a guy like Dez who is like 23. Being in your 20′s is not that old, its when u start understanding responsibility but im 22 and I know im young and I know people in their 20s that mad immature and do stuff, especially Males (less frequent with the female element). So when you get the usual knucklehead … give em millions and a level of super stardom and celebrity, this is what happens. When they get bored the do dumb stuff, or they do the same dumb stuff they will do if they werent rich but more openly because they feel they are unstoppable and their money and celebrity status can get them out of anything. I gaurantee whether they were in professional sports or not they will be doing this stuff but we just wouldnt hear about it cuz they are “nobodies” and they will probably be less targetted as well. Its all in the way you were brought up I suppose and alot of athletes came from nothing into something and for whatever stupid reason try to hold on to that nothing (this is prevolent in many rappers as well) … but then again their are like rich actors or rich celebs who has always been rich all their lives who still do dumb stuff so eehhhn, all in the way you were disciplined when you were raised.

Video on Jaiquawn Jarrett. Guy is the definition of a safety … last line of defense sure tackler. Played FS but the way he hits and tackles he can play SS for us. Im surprised the kid isn’t higher. I like what I saw in that 2 min youtube reel. If we had our 4th round pick he woulda been a shoe in but HEY who needs this guy when we got a guy like Maroney for our fourth round pick? lol.
About vibe05, I hope no one here gets banned for speaking up against the current state of affairs in the NFL, it’s the American thing to do, speak your mind freely if it feels like you have been wronged, nothing wrong with that, anyone who can dish out what’s been dished out the fans way has got to be able to handle whatever can be thrown back at them, as long as it is done within the frames of the moderation process.
We are talking boycotting of some sort here since it’s the only chance we have to be heard, through their pocket books, because NFL football fans just voicing their disappointment to no end all over the country has proven to be a complete dud.
TRB…
You just showed me who I want with our 3rd round pick!! Too many good DL to take a safety in the 2nd!!
Dareus/Peterson/Miller
Paea/Austin/Nevis
Wilson/Jones
Jarrett/Matthews
Jarrett just looks like a guy who is going to be the next Dawkins!!!
Thing I also love about him as well is that he is a Criminal Justice Major which I am too which means he shouldn’t ever be having any trouble with the law!!
Would definitely be a very safe pick with our 3rd round pick!!
While I would absolutely love getting Peterson, as long as we get Jarrett to start in our backfield we should be set with building and improving our front 7!!
I cannot believe the draft is about here!!!
Bay: Nah, theres no way… I don’t believe he would get banned… At least I hope not, that wouldn’t be right at all! He just shows up here and there i’m sure he’ll be back soon… But you’ve been here longer than me, have you ever known of anyone getting banned for personal opinion?
TRB: Come to think about it your right. I don’t believe I’ve ever even seen helmet to helmet contact on Madden now that you point it out lol. Do you remember that game NFL Street?
-Royalty
There`s no way anyone can be banned just because they speak out to boycott the NFL in a tactful manner. It`s the american way, a freedom to enjoy in this great country of ours. I`m all for the boycott myself.
RoyaltyEst.1979 – HAHA, OH YEA, I defeinitely remember NFL street, jumping off walls and what not. That game was dangerous. They didnt even bother playing on fields like blitz. I wish NFL street will come back, it was the only football alternative to realistic football(madden) that I loved…
lot of liberties get shut down on the blogs incase people havent noticed … I feel it has been more laxed recently, back in the days comments would be removed completely just cuz you weren’t sharing the views they wanted (happened to me on a few occasions). So maybe not Ban but post removed and since the post are still there Im sure nothing happened to vibe. Back in the Days Glaxsnax would not have gotten away with his verbal assault on Cooper, from the fact that it was verbal attack which isnt tolerated on this blog not to mention the choice of language which was very vulgar at times. Back in the days his post woulda been deleted and he woulda been banned from blogs … maybe its because its offseason so they aren’t paying attention, altho people have been banned during the offseson before.
and by people i mean “The-Royal-Beast” name last offseason for his short but firm dissaproval of the Brandon Marshall trade (Have to put hyphens in the name or the post wont go through cuz apparently the name is on the taboo list lol)
Bay, excellent letter. You should make it to all player associations, owners, managers, etc. and have it where one could sign it and send them all copies of it.
As for the advertising on the blogs and web sites, that works two ways. They are paid by the advertisers in hits to their web sites and time for advertising on the web site the company is advertising on. Meaning, if I had a web site and “Blah” company wanted to contract with me to advertise, then they would pay me x dollars per month to have their advertisement on my site and x cents per hit on that advertisement.
Wow thanks for clearing up both those questions, much appreciated TRB! Thats so crazy bro! So that guy was a ‘Royal’ as well huh, he’s the coolest person I never met
lmao! Yeah I thought Glax would get cut for sure for taking personal shots at Coop like that, especially for his first posts’. When he took a ‘chill pill’ like bay had advised him to, his demeanor was better, his comments were less degrading and you could read his frustration much better, but the way he had approached it initially was openly abasing Coop.
Yeah NFL Streets was wild! It was a three on three game, you would get the three best players from your team and have the ability to slam players against the wall, stomp on them after the play was whistled down. It was like all Hail Mary’s and run’s with pitch-back, option like plays. Now that game was violent. Mad fun though.
So true strand if it was like it used to be as TRB put it i’m sure a lot of us would have been censored or in Glaxsnax’s case maybe black-booked altogether.
I meant in “The-Royal-Beast” case Glax may have been 86ed as well.
nice highlights of FS Jarrett, I could see a little of the physical style of Atwater, hard hitter and sure tackler!
btw, very well chosen words on that “letter” Baylin… U spoke out for a lot of us, showed our frustration!
I saw what was going on with glaxsnax, but could someone tell me why vibe05 got banned?
No vibe05 didn’t get banned, as far as we know. Sorry if it was confusing, he just hasn’t posted for awhile but like TRB said if he would have been banned they would have removed his comments and such, so yeah he’s fine.
I’ll miss you guys, but not too much – I’ll be in Hawaii (Kauai) until the 19th!
ALOHA!!!
Yea, calm down folks, vibe is still alive … Im sure he is gonna get a kick out of this when he comes back and posts (whenever that is), he wasn’t banned, people were just wondering if he was cuz he was awol but I doubt he is banned for the reasons previously stated.
RoyaltyEst i hear ya, wish i met that “The-Royal-Beast” guy too, sounds like a pretty stand up guy
lol
Sweet t2b! Have a great time bro! Be safe… Aloha!
Bay
Sorry for not getting back sooner. My time frame is all messed up cuz im in the middle east. Anyways, i think you were right on with the QB situation. We are a losing team right now and our best players need to play. Tebow hasnt had a long enough chance to prove if he is that guy or not. I would prefer to start him week one. However if they feel Orton is better, then he needs to start week one. If its a toss up, they need to go Tebow. He is younger and still has alot of learning to do. I also really like your Delhome idea. Lets face it. Tebow is a tuff SOB and will sacrafic his body more than most QBs. That make the likelyhood of an injury much higher with him. Having a solid backup is always going to be a good idea if Tebow is the starter. I wish we could keep orton at a reduced price.
As for the coach Fox info i talked about, i did not know what he had his hands tied by Carolina management. That explains alot but again is us fans looking for a bright spot justified or not.
My questions about all the boycott stuff is that right now i think mostly we would be hurting the owners much more than the players. The players have signed a contract and that contract must be paid. The owners are the ones who then recoupe that money by selling tickets and revenues from the stadium and NFL products. Eventually this lack of sales will trickel down to the player but mainly it would effect the owner’s pockets. I dont think the player recieve a bonus based on soda sales and hats puchased from NFL.com. I could be wrong. If so please let me know.
hei true2bronco,
alohas, fellow fan here on the Big Island
thanks for the post Gray.
still no word on who the other 6 are?
TRB,

Figured we might as well get to know the kid that the trifecta deemed worthy to visit us at a position we need. He could very well be our third round pick. one video stated he is a 2nd and 3rd round prospect but that was before the season. Now I think he is closer to 3rd, 4th, 5th round. But if he really was gonna go in the later mid rounds, I am SHOCKED that so many teams have brought him in for a visit if he is such a late pick. We might not get him. Lotta interest out there for him. TRB out…
