The Future Looks Bright

Hello Broncos Country.

More exciting progress at the future Darrent Williams Memorial Teen Center!  As you can see from the photos, the main registration area connecting the Broncos Boys and Girls Club to the DWMTC is framed in and the registration desk is taking shape.  With all this construction, you’d think the Club’s attendance and activity level would be low but it has been quite the opposite.

The Club has still be operating at capacity most days and just this past Wednesday night, the Club hosted its Youth of the Year dinner that honors the Youth of the Year winners and encourages the kids to take on speaking roles in the formal program.  Dinner — including a special VIP room with waiter service — is served to all of the members, staff and volunteers in attendance including our very own Billy Thompson and Domonique Foxworth.

What a special night to honor so many youngesters including this years’ Broncos Branch winners:  Jr. Youth of the Year Guy Johnson (Guy is also the Boys and Girls Clubs of metro Denver City Jr. Youth of the Year) and Sr. Youth of the Year Diana Johnson.  Congratulations again Guy and Diana!  All of the 14 Youth of the Year winners from the Boys and Girls Clubs of metro Denver branches will be honored at the Youth of the Year Gala on May 2.

With all of the positive happenings and special people in and around the Club and Teen Center I think it’s safe to say the future is looking very bright!  That’s all for now…thanks Broncos Country!

I know many of us have said this so, so many times before. What a great show of compassion for the youth of Denver. To honor a fallen Bronco as well as to help the boys and girls of the area, is truly an amazing gesture towards humanity.

Will this keep all boys and girls in the area safe and on course to do great things in life? No, but it is a gigantic step towards moving towards something very special.

I’m very happy that the Darrent Williams Teen Center is taking shape and that soon it will be open to the young people of the Denver community. This is one of the great ways to honor Darrent’s memory.

It’s great this is coming along great… I hope no more problems happen. This is exciting and I know Darrent would want this… May he Rest In Peace. Miss you #27 & #29. Ok, so I know this is all about the Teen center and I don’t want to take anything away from this but I have a question that’s driving me crazy…

What is going on with Jason Elam??? I’m hoping Mason or someone can give me or the team an answer. I’m beginning to get real worried b/c today I read somewhere on nfl.com that Elam might be in talks to sign with Atlanta… this CAN’T happen. What I want to know is, why haven’t we re-signed him? I would think that after 15 seasons he’d want to stay with this team… why would he even consider anyone else??? I know I’m not the only Bronco fan that is wondering what’s going on? I was concerned about his future with the Broncos but now I’m in a panic mode after reading about him talking with Atlanta. If he doesn’t stay, we are screwed as far as finding someone even half as good as he is.

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!!
