Surprise Visitors

April 10th, 2012 - 2:17pm by Stuart Zaas

Tuesday morning Katie Walsh received a pair of surprise visitors to her hospital room at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children.

Broncos defensive linemen Robert Ayers and Kevin Vickerson spent time with the 17-year old high school senior, who is recovering from a procedure that she underwent the day before.

Katie’s mom, Lynda, described the visit as the best medicine they’ve received in the 14 months since Katie began battling illness.

“It was great,” Vickerson said. “Whenever you can put a smile on a kid’s face that’s going through something -– whatever I can do, whatever I can say that can help lift their spirits up, I’m happy to do.”

Great point broncos20. The Kuper injury has me a little worried. That injury looked nasty. I saw he is on track to be ready for camp, I just hope he returns to the form he was pre injury

  2. alaskanbronco06 says:

B20 I dont know the plan with the mock but IMO it would be offense from there.

Atwater very career defining. Very negative way! I felt bad for him. Afterwards him and his family were getting death threats.

  3. alaskanbronco06 says:

The Olinemen i really like is Ryan Miller OG from Colorado. Kid is a beast. He also would block punts. I would love to reach on him in the 5th round.

  4. Atwater4HOF says:

Yea that’s horrible. I feel for the guy.

  5. alaskanbronco06 says:

I do to. Hardest stage of his career so far and he failed miserably. I hate that he was getting death threats. Thats messed up IMO

  6. Atwater4HOF says:

Yea Miller is a guy I had in my mock. We have a tendency to draft/sign guys from the local schools. 6’7 320 is a great size as well. He could be a fill in the gap linemen that could sub in at tackle if needed

  7. Atwater4HOF says:

People get too overly invested in sports sometimes. Quite a shame

  8. alaskanbronco06 says:

Yea it is. IMO It kinda takes a lot away from the sport.

Miller would be a great pickup. Guy is huge. I doubt there is a RB out there that wouldnt want to run behind him and Franklin two big BIG guys!!! Our RBs would have two tanks blocking in front of them on the right side!!!

  9. alaskanbronco06 says:

NFLN for this years draft will be in Denvers war room for pick #25!!!

  10. Atwater4HOF says:

Really? That will be awesome. Drafting in the top 10 is so much easier because you basically know what everyone in front of you is doing. Our slot is much more hectic and that war room will be intense

  11. alaskanbronco06 says:

According to NFL.com. IF i understand it right.

    • Draft War Rooms Take Viewers Behind-the-Scenes: NFL Network offers behind-the-scenes video access into the Draft War Rooms of several NFL teams as team executives make their selection. Featured this season are the Indianapolis Colts, marking the third consecutive year NFL Network has been inside the draft room of the team with the first overall pick. Additional teams include the St. Louis Rams (6), Seattle Seahawks (12), Dallas Cowboys (14), Denver Broncos (25), Green Bay Packers (28) and San Francisco 49ers (30).

  12. Atwater4HOF says:

Very cool, I really like Mike Mayock and I’m sure his pre draft night mock will be spot on. He did a nice job with combine coverage

  13. alaskanbronco06 says:

Many give Mayock a lot of crap about his draft stuff but i find him to be very knowledgeable. Hes the main guy i listen to.

  14. alaskanbronco06 says:

Carson Wiggs, K (6-0 7/8, 220) — Wiggs ran the 40 in 4.91 and 4.93 seconds, had a 25 1/2-inch vertical and 8-foot-10 broad jump, and did 11 strength lifts. Wiggs has a very strong leg, and showed off that powerful boot by kicking 60-yard field goals with ease during warmups. Wiggs gained notoriety by successfully kicking a 67-yard field goal in Purdue’s spring game in 2011.

Man him and Prater kicking FGs in Denver would be awesome to see!!! Both have strong legs!!! LOL

  15. cleblanc10 says:

I hope brockers falls to us dude is a beast.

  16. Broncos LAX says:

I think the drops go both ways… Tebow threw a ball that was difficult to catch and WRs were payed to catch the ball… Tebow made it harder and WRs didn’t do their job!
Love the mock but it is a lot of trades that McD would make but if he was drafting players we would take 2 saefties 2 des and Offensive line lol

  17. alaskanbronco06 says:

I like Brockers but IMO he reminds me of Haynesworth attitude wise. Aslo has weight issues. Brockers is also very raw.

However that being said, Fox and JDR will be able to coach him up and teach him. With those in the locker room I think he will be able to be kept in check and not end up like Haynesworth.

  18. alaskanbronco06 says:

LAX like everything else. Everything goes both ways. WR drops are on Tebow and them. Bad pass defense is on bad pass rush and poor coverage. Bad run defense mistakes all around on D.

  19. Broncos LAX says:

AB I did point this out this is one instance where I didn’t lay the blame on Tebow but IMO there are very few drops this year because AB as you said Manning will not be ok with it and he also throws one of the most catchable balls in the history of the NFL. The guy makes no name receivers household names!

  20. alaskanbronco06 says:

LAX I know. Mannings balls are very catchable (LOL) and what he does with WRs. Garcon wont be as good with RG3 IMO Wayne will be with Luck. I mean he did good with Painter.

BUT if there are drops depending on a variable it cna be both PM and the WRs fault. Only way it wont be PMs fault is if they are mid stride and hits them on the hands. If they have to dive then blame can go on the QB. With Tebow there was a lot of both happening. So a lot of blame going both ways.

  21. Broncos LAX says:

Lol definitly agreed. That said I would be all giddy with either Osweiler or Foles or even both? Can I be greedy? Madden will let me be greedy if I want lol

  22. alaskanbronco06 says:

LMAO LAX. How did it turn out with all the created players?

  23. Broncos LAX says:

Idk man one ting le to another…. Its lie being drunk and one thing leads to another that is what happened haha!

  30. SWBronco says:

What do you guys think of Bruce Irvin, that story on the home page suggests the type of character our organization has been attracting. I’m not sure where he’d fall considering it’s the first I’ve heard of him, but thought I’d get opinions anyway.

  31. FTR says:

    SW,
Sounds more like a collage test!! Best of luck Bronco Bro!
    FTR

  32. SWBronco says:

Yeah FTR, it is…still I feel where you’re coming from (sort of) haha

  33. Broncos LAX says:

FTR congrats I was offered a text for an addition 80 dollars or 1 point of my liscense! Best 80 dolars saved haha

  34. Broncos LAX says:

  35. Broncos LAX says:

  36. SWBronco says:

    FTR

  38. SWBronco says:

Haha FTR, just remember old rockers never die, they just start playing country!

  39. alaskanbronco06 says:

Bruce Irvin OLB from West Virginia? That who you talking about SW?

  40. SWBronco says:

    Ya AB that’s the guy

  41. alaskanbronco06 says:

Well after a big talk with draftees about staying clear of legal trouble he got into legal trouble the next day. Hes all flash. Speed OLB that cant pass cover and only pass rush. Isnt a good run stopper either. I personally dont like the kid. Even if he falls to a UDFA i still wouldnt touch him. He gives me a bad feeling and I dont think he will be good in the NFL and be in trouble a lot. Just my honest opinion.

  42. Broncos LAX says:

Broncpack is on tonight lol… So In iRobot when Will Smiths arm is torn up and the robotic arm underneath is exposed… I want to get a tattoo of that from my shoulder down… Good idea?

  43. alaskanbronco06 says:

LAX yea it sounds pretty sweet. I only have one tat KFA on the back of my neck (Drunk mistake LOL) but im thinking about getting one after my babys born with its name and bday. Also a football one lol

  44. SWBronco says:

Aw that sucks to hear thanks for the info though

  45. SWBronco says:

Haha that’s a sick tat idea LAX

  46. Broncos LAX says:

It’d be my first haha I just need a good enough design and a really good artist to make it look real!

  47. SWBronco says:

no kidding, that’s always the issue, getting a good enough tattoo artist to make it worth it.
