Tuesday morning Katie Walsh received a pair of surprise visitors to her hospital room at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children.
Broncos defensive linemen Robert Ayers and Kevin Vickerson spent time with the 17-year old high school senior, who is recovering from a procedure that she underwent the day before.
Katie’s mom, Lynda, described the visit as the best medicine they’ve received in the 14 months since Katie began battling illness.
“It was great,” Vickerson said. “Whenever you can put a smile on a kid’s face that’s going through something -– whatever I can do, whatever I can say that can help lift their spirits up, I’m happy to do.”

Wel based on the detail I want you know? You gonna get any SW?
Ya I understand, and nah, not big on getting any.
At least Ozzie Guillen apologized and took responsibilty for his actions. I still haven’t heard anyone from the saints organization apologize or man up for their mistakes. Ozzie Guillen is a realist he says whats on his mind and now in days that is something that is rare in sports. Guillen chose not to appeal the suspensions and the aints had the nerve to actually appeal the commisioners decision. lol@the aints.
Always nice to see our broncos out in the community trying to make a difference………….makes me proud to be a broncos fan!
GO BRONCOS!

Fox has been known to ignore the DT and focus on the DE position. All his years at Carolina with Peppers, seemed to have a decent pass rush, but he had no interior help. I wouldn’t be too surprised if he drafted a DE and actually as some say maybe move Ayers to DT. I think at times Ayers did play a bit of DT last season didn’t he? Maybe I’m imagining it but I though I saw him line up in the middle some. Anyway, for our pass rush to be successful we need Dumervil to remain fully healthy this season. So far it seems as though he’s been hit with the old addage of sign a huge contract and then doesn’t produce. As long as we address the D-line, perferably the DT, but as long as we go d-line I’ll be happy.
just on a side note, speaking of the draft……..my edmonton oilers won the lottery last night and gets the number 1 pick for the third year in a row. It’s time to do something with all these picks! I say we need to trade it for a top D-man………just like the broncos, I think the oil need to focus on D instead of those flashy forwards.
killerkod: In terms of football we already got our flashy foward.
well brian…………that question will be answered in 15 days. I can’t wait to see who we take with the 25th pick……..or if we trade to move up or down……..I’m looking forward to watching coverage from the war room to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the action.
Yup………….we do………and now we need that shut down D man……..or run stuffer in this instance. lol
I wonder if the draft will seemingly go any quicker since teams have had plenty of time to devote to this years draft. In the first rounds it seems like they take the entire alloted time, wonder if they will this year…
I remember bay pointing that out re: Fox not liking DT’s, brian.
Yeah, Ayers slid to the inside on rush downs. That’s what makes players like Cox, Reyes, and Wolfe intriguing as they can play both positions. (DT/DE).
All three are fast enough to play the 3 tech position at DT, and Fox likes speed. They could go DE and focus on a player like Jones as ab and OT have discussed.
If Jones is as freakish of an athlete like his brother John, then I’d take him anyday of the week.
Good luck to your Oilers kod.. hope they get a top notch player!
thanks rbf1……….I’m so tired of seeing them suck so hard every year……but even though they lose a lot, they are an exciting team to watch with their speed. They’re just really lacking on the D side and goaltending………which is key to winning in the NHL.
It’s funny that my fav 2 sports teams wear blue and orange!
now that the NFL is in such a lull till the draft I’m really excited to watch the NHL playoffs…….especially the philly – pitt series………..that’s gonna be a rough one and should be awesome! There’s no love lost between those two bitter rivals. LOVE IT!
There you kod… orange & blue!! I watch hockey every once in a while. Used to love it a kid.

Does anyone in here ever go to the Broncos or any other teams war room during the season?

I really don’t see us making a play for Edwards. I think DMT, Decker, Caldwell, are a solid starting WR core. That coupled with our TE acquirements we’ll have plenty of targets for Manning. Hopefully Matthew Willis will develop some as well and that will help solidify our WR core. I sure wish we’d get Smith involved with the Broncos. I think he would be a great WR coach.

Syracuse DE Chandler Jones fits the mold of the type of player the Bears like at the position because he’s 6-5. Although Jones weighed 247 during the Syracuse season, he put on weight to 266 for the NFL combine and weighed 255 at his pro day after a bout with the flu. The Bears aren’t the only team interested. He has attracted a lot of attention from the Giants, a team known for DE selections.
Kod – all that hockey talk, thought I’d share this link.. Pretty cool if this kid gets on the ice! Let’s go Rangers!

Last year’s Madden Curse on Peyton Hillis was so strong it might have even affected Peyton Manning and Sean Payton. Bad year to be Peyton.
LMAO
SW you asked about Irvin earlier.
I go to WVU and have quite a bit of knowledge on the kid. Very skilled pass rusher and is best suited for a 3-4. The notion that he cannot pass cover is a little skewed considering he was a downlinemen the entire time. He is arguably the most athletic prospect in the draft.
He was double teamed consistently after posting double digit sacks his Junior year. WVU ran a 3-3-5 stack so it was tough for the D linemen to get sacks, especially when doubled.
Character-wise he has been nothing but great at WVU. I have personally met the guy and he is great. Came from a tough upbringing (as you can read in many articles) and AB’s reference of getting in trouble again is also skewed because it was an incident outside of Jimmy Johns where a sign was broken. Nothing has come out of that case and everything from his twitter indicates it was a misunderstanding and that the charges would not stand.
Just my 2 cents but I think he’d be an intriguing player for us but only if he fell to the 4th round. One on one he was unstoppable at WVU. With Von and Doom, he would never see a double team in the NFL
Atwater the fact that he has little experience pass covering works with what i said about him being poor in pass coverage. My assessment of that actually comes from the pass coverage drills they did at the combine. Where he was horrible. Lack of experience. To be good in the NFL he will have to learn quick.
Also as for the incident. The issue is that it happened the day after all draftees had a meeting with people from the NFLPA about staying out of trouble. If the charges stand or not he still was involved in a incident involving the police. Irvin is also a High School dropout. I dont see why thats a big deal but according the cbssports.com they make a big deal out of it.
Chandler Jones has met or will meet with people from 32 teams. He has a private workout with a team today and whoever it is they brought all their staff.
Justin Bannan is a Denver Bronco again.

The #Broncos have signed DL Justin Bannan.
Now that we have Bannan all the more reason to go after Chandler Jones even more.

Welker Ware and Matthews all provide some good players insight into the bounty stuff.
The incident happened the day after his Pro Day as well. He was obviously out celebrating with his boys. Even if he was associated with some drunken stupidity, that was his only incident in 2 years at WVU and very petty at that. Not like he’s gotten 3 DUI’s or whatever like Michael Floyd.
True Bruce doesn’t have pass coverage experience but he’s also very raw. Junior year he was atrocious against the run, with one offseason, he was night and day improved his Senior year. Incredible amount of athleticism and work ethic that will allow him to develop into a hybrid DE/OLB.
100% not there as of now but would be a good developmental and situational player in the 4th round
Woo hoo we got Bannan who was a non factor for us 2 years ago.
New blog.
I didn’t know Dlinemen did pass coverage drills at the combine. I must have missed that and am having trouble finding anything about how Irvin did in those drills
Atwater I agree with you on the pass coverage. Part of why he looked bad cause lack of experience.
I think a big thing about Irvin like i said was that it happened after a talk with them about staying out of trouble and the pro day to? He probably was out celebrating. But from what ive read his draft stock fell from it but not horribly. He went from a 2-3 rounder to a solid 3rd. So its not as big of a deal as many things ive read had made it seem.
Atwater Ingram and Irvin did DE and OLB drills at the combine because they are best suited as 3-4 OLBs.
Yea I would have liked to watch him do those drills since I never got to see him do it at WVU
Yea he needs coaching up but he does have the ability. He knew what to do even though he didnt do it well. His hip movements where sloppy which isnt a good thing for pass coverage.
All right folks ill be on the new blog lol
It’s good to read that some of Tebow’s character rubbed off on his teammates. Too bad none of it stuck with his bosses.
