Tuesday evening was another highly energetic and frenzied evening in the world of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. Kids from both Cope and Broncos branches had some very special visitors push them to the limits with the likes of King Pin, Dodge Ball, and yes, ZUMBA dancing.

Absolutely a fantastic sight to see the Denver Broncos’ own Virgil Green lighting it up on the dance floor as shocked teammates Eric Decker and Austin Sylvester and frenzied children tried to keep pace… Austin did give Virgil a run for his money though!

Zane Beadles did own the floor during King Pin at the Broncos Branch while teammates Adam Weber and Kyle McCarthy kept the kids in check. Equally fired up were the kids at the Cope Boys & Girls Club near the stadium where special visitors Eron Riley, Jason Hunter, Daniel Fells, Mario Haggan and Julius Thomas helped them catch the Play 60 fever.

NFL Play 60 has officially started this year in Denver and the kids (and players alike) are fueling the fire. Let it begin…

Green sports the same look as Von with his glasses, the Clark Kent look.
Great way to give back to the community!
Glad to see the team interacting with the kids. Gives the kids lifetime memories.
I always wondered how those guys that wear glasses are able to play on the field without them?
I think Miller uses contacts, but wouldn’t they get knock out of his eyes on a regular basis???
PLUS – don’t these guys make enough money to get lasik done???
GO BRONCOS!!!
I grew up and went to school in a small Iowa town so nothing ever cool like having proffesional althletes come and play with us ever happened. I think that it is pretty neat that league gets involved.
the trainers should have extra contacts on the sidelines. I know, I had 3 sets of contacts with the trainer during games in JuCo, so I imagine it would be the same in the NFL.
Yea, when I was in high school, the coach took me to Miami Dolphin training facility to get geared up because of my size. That was neat to me because I was the only high school kid using a orofessional football uniform and pads. I even was able to spend the day with them while training, lunch tijme and all. It was really a nice trip for me. I still hate the fins!
Now the have those throwaways that you can get by the boxfull. I imagine that is what some of them use.
Saw this article on NFL.com talking about Boston’s collapse for the AL wild card and they listed the top 6 collapses in NFL history…AH MEMORIES!!!
6. 2009 Broncos
Remember when Josh McDaniels was a genius when his team started 6-0, which included a win over his mentor Bill Belichick? That vanished when the Broncos went 2-8 down the stretch. Denver had a chance to still make the playoffs but lost 44-24 at home to the Chiefs in Week 17 to end all hope. And then that Tim Tebow thing happened, and you know the rest.
The Boston collapse. There was a sports writer who guarenteed the BoSox play off birth during the rain delay. He has now been dubbed the “most hated man in Boston.” Now that is a tough crowd (fan base)
OC, I’d like to offer an amendment to your scoring prediction process.
You listed the offense output for each team. Doesn’t make more sense to look at the points against column???
Denver has allowed- 23; 22; 17 for an average of 20.6/game
GB has allowed- 34; 23; 17 for an average of 24.6/game
BTW, GB has given up 1200 yards of offense this season. While only 100 and some change is on the ground…its safe to say their defense is one dimensional. Which plays to OUR strength and exactly why I feel we have a good chance pulling off the upset!!!
GO BRONCOS!
sndvl, After the 6-0 start we played the Redskins. They bummed rushed us, and knocked Orton out of the game. That then provided the rest of the league with the Orton blue-print. Lot’s of pressure disrupts him.. You can run blitz us as well.. Basically design you defense to bring the heat like you would when you play a rookie. Kyle can’t even hit a screen pass, cause screens are designed to ALLOW PRESSURE IN.. He should focus on golf because he clearly hates getting hit. I think it’s obvious to all of us that he is a play for the check kinda guy.
It would seem our defense as well is one dimensional which may play to their strength as well. Maybe it’ll turn into an old western shootout…Orton vs. Rodgers! *cling* *cling* *cling* …this stadium ain’t big enough for the both of us…
Thanks baylin! I take no offense really. I enjoy the banter with you and OC, TRB, BFE etc…
Just trying to keep somewhat of a balance here. So much negativity (understandably) gotta come up with anything I can “hang my hat on”.
It was so tough watching the last two years. And with the off field issues surrounding our team over the last 5 years…At least ELWAY is back where he belongs. Elvis is back (hopefully) and we are getting healthy at the right time…Its gonna take an monumental effort to pull off the upset, sure, but its not an impossible task!
We cannot turn the ball over whether it be by fumble or interceptions. We’ve done a nice job eliminateing the penalties, the next step is to eliminate the giveaways.
With Grant being injured, I am wandering what is to come of GB’s game plan. I forget who their other back is, but I know the carries between the two have been roughly 55/45. Which is exactly what I was hoping out of Moreno / McGahee.
With more need for a run game to establish, maybe they come out of the gate running?
I know they, like almost every team actually respects our pass rush defense. Which as some try and knock it, other teams are specifically game planning against it. Which shows strength. Run defense is showing strong.
Our secondary, even with Champ back at probably about 90% is still very vulnerable. I just hope that last week can carry forward and we keep them out of the end zone. 17 points last week, was very impressive considering what Hasselbeck was able to do.
This is week, I am thinking similar to brian’s line of thought. It can be a shoot out. The problem is, I see our O being able to come out the gate strong, but after the halftime adjustments by the GB D, we will be in trouble. So, in short, I am looking at a big first half and a I really hope we don’t blow a lead, if we have one, like Carolina train of thought.
It is a winnable game. Saturday I will put my numbers, where my fingers are and make a prediction, but something in my gut, is tempting me to go with a huge upset.
We always have to expect them to try and run the ball. That “one” time you don’t respect them they rip off a huge gainer for a TD. I look for both defenses to step up and stuff the run. That leaves the fate of the game with Orton, in which case we need our O-line to block, our WR to not drop cathes, and no turnovers.
***reality check****
The packers with bring the heat.. They smacked Chicago and then let the heat off in the second half (allowing chicago to pad it’s stats… SOUND FAMILAR?)… McCoy has no clue on how to bring the heat offensively.. I mean why is he our o/c?? Our defense is amazing, but after week 6 or so they will begin to break down due to our offenses lack out long time consuming drives.. SO looks like a long day for EFX..
TEBOW FOR DUMMIES:
3 starts with limited practice reps prior to 1st start. Produces 23 , 24, & 28 points.. Sets a few team records in those starts…
GEE I wonder what he might do after he GETS SOME EXPERIENCE? Maybe he produce 35 points a game? What would our record be by just averaging 25 points per game?
**this message was brought to you from concerned fans for change**
Orton in a shootout? Please, don’t you know that Orton isn’t allowed to play with weapons.
What’s the over/under on Orton stepping into sacks? ( 2 or 3 )
what about deflected passes? (3 or 4)
turnovers ( 1 or 2)
smirks (+ 100)
I thought it was a Big collapse in 08 when we led the division and all we had to do was win one out of the last three games to win our division and cinch a playoff berth and then Shanny and Cutler choked big time….one out of three games!!!!
Then as sndvl said above about the 2009 McD and Orton collapse…
Follow that up with the worst loss in Mile High history to the Raiders and then to go 4-12 in another McD and Orton choking 2010…… collapse
It has been one monumental collapse after another for the last four or five years….
Now we are faced with the Fox and Orton 1-2, possible collapse in the making… Going into Green Bay.. No wonder Bronco fans have run out of patience.
Orton in a shootout? Please, don’t you know that Orton isn’t allowed to play with weapons.
lol, weirder things have happened. It’s either in the air over here or someone has been spiking my drinks. But I am feeling something special happening next Sunday.
Whether that be Orton, scrambling beyond the tackles and completing passes, or our O being able to score 6 when handed the ball in the red zone, something special will go down.
Orton in a shootout? LMAO….
Maybe if we were playing Madden and it was set to 2 minutes per quarter and level set to rookie….
Special Sunday prediction…Our Defense will be a brick wall to GB offense, then our offense wil take the field led by none other than………a different qb!
HAHAHA You thought I was going to say Tebow didn’t you?
In stevecan2′s defense, this game kinda looks like a trap game for the Packers. But if that happens EFX might be so giddy that they’ll resign Orton to 5 more years. I mean with the way Fox was celebrating after the CINCY game, can you imagine a win in Lambeau? He’d be giving game balls to the player’s wives and to the team cook.
lmao @ He’d be giving game balls to the player’s wives and to the team cook.
