The inaugural Be a Champion in the Community Week was by all accounts a great success.
Eighty-eight percent of the roster participated in the week of community outreach, which ran from June 2 to June 9.
In all, 79 players participated in a total of 22 projects in the community, which included three Habitat for Humanity builds, serving meals at two Denver Rescue Mission locations, visits to two Ronald McDonald Houses, participating in the Denver Heart and Stroke Walk, visits to the Broncos Boys & Girls Club and the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children and a Broncos Bunch Summer Kickoff for Kids at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
A photo gallery of some of the events is available here.
Vice President of Community Development Cindy Kellogg said that in addition to the sheer number of players that participated, it was their professionalism as they helped out in the community in such a meaningful way that truly stood out.
The team expects the week to become an annual tradition, and in the mean time, the Broncos ask Broncos Country, “What can you do to be a champion in the community?”

Sounds as if Matt Prater is going to sign his new contract soon. Get that deal done!
What’s up strandsky !!! Happy Friday bro !
Yeah yeah your Queen of these here Bronco Blogs is still kickin LOL…. Glad to know I’ve been missed awww lol
I can assure you my fans I WILL NOT walk into OUR house holding hands with a Raider fan. Uh uh no way man plus we’re just friends (with him having the major character flaw lol not me as he will try to convince anyone). I have to say though, for a Raider fan, he’s a cool dude. Not insane like you might expect haha
So I’ve been so busy I can’t even keep up with all the Bronco news like I have before. Doesn’t sound like I’ve missed much. Prater’s deal is almost done… about time! #5 is a keeper for sure. I hear dear ‘ol Manning is looking good (still ticked about what that led up to, and I will be for awhile; no need to start a big conversation about it though. Just have to remind the world where I stand. I think it was a nutty idea but as a diehard fan I will ALWAYS have my team’s back)
Anyway, anything else I need to know… spit it out.

Wow slow blog records have been shattered these last few days…
Hey gang! Just checking in to say hello. Out staining the back deck on a sunny but somewhat windy day.
FTR, I’m working on it bro! Lol
The blog has slowed down to molasses running up a hill. Guess that’s what happens during slow periods in the off season. Oh well, we’re here trying to keep it going.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend and I’ll try to check back in a bit.
Go Broncos!
Wow, is right, LBF. Just popped in to say Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads on here….especially you, Daddy x’s 13. Hope you all have a great weekend and make some wonderful memories with your families, especially your own dads, if you are still blessed to have them. One day, they’ll mean more to you than you might possibly realize right now.
Happy Father’s Day, Broncos guys and gals!
Slow day… Not much in the news category!
I do have some exciting personal news to share. I have been invited to audition for a commercial next week. What’s that have to the Broncos? Everything!
It’s a commercial for football fans. Particularly family who are Bronco fans! It will take place next Saturday in Chicago at an establishment that has turned into the gathering location of Chicagoland Broncomaniacs on Sundays during the season.
Im so excited for this amazing opportunity. I don’t even care if we are selected, the chance to even be a part of it has my emotions on par with those of a stiff arm that turned into an 80 yard TD in OT of a playoff game!!!
Happy Fathers Day to all the Bronco fathers out there- Daddy, LBF, Kod, B.FE, Baylin, Alaska, and all of the others who participate in the blog that I have left out!
Broncos Country Strong 2012!
Happy Fathers day Bronco Country
thanks sndvl but my only kid is my little boy dax, a schnauzer, who is my wife and my pride and joy! he’s a really good dog and my wife jokes with me on fathers day with stuff ‘from’ him and i do the same with her on mothers day. we love our dog very much and he’s the most spoiled dog on earth i’m sure of it. he actually has 4 beds in the house and one of them is a hand made wood frame bed with a memory foam mattress covered in high quality cloth. his name is etched in the head board. that and his 3 large baskets full of toys and an entire cabinet for his treats, food, medicine, etc. spoiled, spoiled, spoiled, but he earns it being such a great dog for us. its funny to watch him go digging into one of his toy boxes butt in the air and head down under a pile of toys looking for a certain toy depending on wether he wants to chew or fetch or play tug o war. then he runs up to see if you wanna play, and if you ignore him he runs back and gets another type and tries again. at the end of every day my wife pickes them all up and puts them away. he’s fun. but my wife i have decided we may go ahead and have a kid here soon, then we’ll have the most spoiled kid in the world too! and i’ll officially be told happy fathers day on fathers day!
and keep us updated on that sndvl thats pretty awesome1
and those who dont care to hear about my dog on a bronco blog i do get it and sorry bout that, but its not like anything else is being discussed…
Sndvl, good luck and enjoy. This is the chance of a life time. I hope your chosen!
LBF, thats a cool story bro. My dog is a Schipperkee and boy is she spoiled as well. She never gets dog food. In my household we cook everything from scratch. We cook her own steak, chicken, roast, you name it. We add our own healthy ingredients into her fresh cook meals everyday. She thinks she`s a queen. LOL
The wife is shopping and left me in the car with her ipad. Lol
That’s so cool to hear sndvl! I hope you get it man. Keep us posted. Thanks for the fathers day wishes. Right back at ya and all the other dads on the blog. AB, you’ll be with us next year!
And LBF, no need to apologize man. sharing info about each other is how we all get to know one another better. I consider you all my second family! Lord knows we all spend enough time with each other! Haha
I’m guessing the next big news to come from our Broncos will be the signing of Prater. GET IT DONE!!!
Thanks all for the fathers day wishes. I’ll still have 13 kids for fathers day with a daughters friend visiting from Texas and my nephew here from Indiana. (a dang Colts fan – gonna sting ‘im up!!! LOL)
My daughter and her new husband swung in yesterday headed up north. Any one see a silver Dodge diesel pick-up with a shell headed north on Hwy 1 ???- supposed to go all the way to the Alaska border just sight seeing. Pretty good son-in-law that can take a 30 honey month!!!
My dog is a yellow lab. He’s one of those ball chasers that will keep on going till the pads on his paws are falling off. Not too bright but very active and cute. Last week he escaped and ran full tilt out into the street in front of the house. A pick-up nailed him. My wife watched as our dog was rolled down the road under this pickup with the driver standing on the brakes trying to get control of his truck. The driver had no idea where the dog went. 100 feet down the road the truck stops and the dog runs for his yard full tilt. The dog never made a sound till he got into his dog house and then he was shaking all over and just barking. Half the family felt that dog over looking for injury and never found the slightest cut or bruise. He shook for several hours afterward and he kept barking. He seemed to calm right down and went full tilt after the ball when we finally had the courage to throw it. Seems to be fine. Pretty dumb dog that doesn’t know how to die when hit and run over by a truck.
Happy Daddy Day!!!
cool kod and i feel the same way. and happy fathers day db i forgot to tell the one on here with daddy in his name happy fathers day. and same to all the fathers on here! db your dog sounds like my mons dog. just dumb as a brick but pretty cute. i had a dog that way but dax is a very smart dog and everyone loves him. he’s rare so my next one will prob be a dummy again! and i second and third all of the sign prater sentiment. we need him for sure. now we’ll have to come up with something football to talk about between now and camp. maybe i’ll come up with another way out there, ‘never gonna happen so only gonna talk about it cuz theres nothing else to talk about’ jones-drew scenario again to duscuss. heck those can be kinda fun!

Hehehehehehe!!!! Hahahahahahaha!!! LOL
101 degrees in my crazy part of the desert. Not comfortable.
http://www.milehighreport.com/2012/6/15/3089749/the-new-bronco-fan
Obviously written by a rank amateur to the ranks of fandom. I have yet to meet a Bronco fan who misses McD. Most recognize that Lloyd left to avoid TT. That one is on Timmy’s legs – fair enough!
Do we really have any conundrum when the Broncos play the Pats or the Jets??? I sure don’t!!! Go Broncos!!!
(run Timmy run!!!) LOL
Denver Broncos
The Broncos selected a pass rushing linebacker with the 2nd pick of the draft. Von Miller (LB Texas A&M) might be a very good linebacker sometime in the future; however, I believe you build your defense from the inside out, not from the outside in. In my opinion, Von Miller was a reach that did not fit a need and did not add complementary talent to this team right now. Passing on Marcell Dareus was a big mistake, then reaching for a marginal talented cover safety Rahim Moore (UCLA) and passing on more talented players was another big mistake. The only mistake they did not make was trading Tim Tebow! This draft made no sense to me. They did not select best player available and they addressed needs with multiple picks when the new coach has not even introduced himself to the players on the team. They needed DT’s, but passed on all of them to select three LB’s, two TE’s and two safeties. Then they picked Jeremy Beal (DE/OLB Oklahoma) who will struggle to make the team because they have faster players to play his position — not better, just faster. The best pick in this draft might be Orlando Franklin (OT Miami). Passing on Marcell started this team off in the wrong direction from the beginning and there was little recovery.
That’s one person’s opinion from last year – this from THR. Another year and another draft since – did the front office follow the best player mantra??? How is this working out for us???
DB- LOL!!
Alot of us will tune in with Timmy’s progress. Just remember: PFM (Peyton freaking Manning)! Go Broncos!
Hola Happy Fathers day to all the fathers on the blog
love the dog stories !
nfl rewind now allows you to review every play with rewind and pause and slo mo
pretty dang cool and from all 22 cameras at that these players better be ready us fans will have more proof they suck now
Hey guys!! Happy Father’s Day to all you Father’s!!! Hope everything is going well… I see it’s been kind of slow, but I love the dog stories. I have a dachshund named Chester and he is piebald, white with brown spots. He is pretty dang gorgeous and people don’t believe me that he’s a dachshund. He also has the deepest bark of any dachshund I’ve ever heard. He just turned 8 and will celebrate Father’s day tomorrow with two of his sons.
DB, I love the blast from the past about Miller’s drafting.
I like to take the “wait and see” role on the draft, even though I think we did an okay job filling some holes we needed to fill this year. Trading Tebow last draft season (2011) would’ve been so destructive in so many ways. Not that anyone could predict the Manning signing in the future or anything, but that would’ve been the stupidest thing we’d done since hiring he who must not be named. But then, no one knows what’s going to happen and we were pretty dang blessed this past year. AND pretty dang blessed this off season as well.
Need your prayers guys! I totally pulled a muscle in my hip or back today when I was helping my mom with cutting the suckers (roots growin up instead of down) off the base of the tree in their back yard. I pulled on one of the roots and some strange pain shot up my back and down my left leg. I’ve had issues with that hip for a few years, but it’s always been random or when I sit for lengthy periods of time. I think I hurt it because I was in the car so much today because I had to travel to the funeral, either way, it’s awful. Walking is pretty painful and I’m hoping it all goes away because I have a model school’s conference in Disney World next weekend and it would be awful if I can’t walk!!
DB
Copy and paste!! Getting lazy Bro!
FTR
Sciatica, Cat, is what you got. You don’t need prayers, you need to call your doctor and get an anti inflamatory, a steroid medicine and pain killers. I’ve had plenty of those sciatic nerve damage in my lumbars with the excrutiating pain going down either leg. Plus you need time, first two/three days are awful but it will gradually get better, all but disappearing after a couple weeks. Without any meds you will hurt more and it will last way longer but you would eventually be fine again too. Good luck with it.
Happy fathers day to all the Bronco fathers.
BTW, Sciatica is not a muscle pull, it’s a slip of a vertebral disc resulting in a compressing of the spinal nerve, hence shooting pain elsewhere. Due to my years of extreme sports I have no more cushion material between any of my lumbars so discs touch bone to bone and the slightest wrong lower back move can cause me sciatica, only solution at that point is fusion of the lumbars, i.e. Manning’s neck fusion. They call him the Neck, you can call my pain in the butt, LOL.
call me pain in the butt.
Bay.

One of my BBBPs was that MCg would be replaced as the featured RB by someone already on the team and who it would be would be big surprise. I was thinking TT, nut maybe Rexy ewillo make of hi8m what Lombardi made of another Heisdman winning QB, a HOF RB like Paul Hornung.
PUM PUM PUM…
Happy Fathers Day!!!! I can’t believe that it’s the same page of the blog as the last time I checked… Odd, You guys run out of Neck Jokes?!?!?! Or maybe ‘The Neck’ is the Joke!!!! and it’s on all of us!!! Hope not…
PUM PUM PUM
B-R-O-N-C-O-S BRONCOS BRONCOS BRONCOS!!!
Von Manning Football 2012! Superbowl Champions or Bust!!!
and While I’m at it… to those who laugh about Tebow being a QB or having QB type talents I will say this…
Josh McDaniels, the greatest offensive mind in Football Right Now (orchestrator of the only undefeated regular Season of the modern) chose him to be his next QB… You can argue your points of view all you want and that is your right, but there are people smarter at football than you that see things in a very different light than you… Don’t stick your head in the sand and pretend you know, cause none of us really do!!!
Have a good day Broncos Country
Modern Era*
Is it my computer or have any of you fellow bloggers noticed extremely slow response time when trying to make a correction to your blog spelling?”
Hi OSS! hope your enjoying your fathers day… I love old school smash mouth Football, and Hornung is one of my favorites!
I’m going golfing… Talk to you later
The McD head coach experiment as HC was more of a joke than your attempt at a neck joke Turtle.
The real reason they went undefeated (lost the only game that mattered tho. LMAO), was because of Tom Brady & Randy Moss. Not because of some supposed kid genius coordination.
Glad he’s gone. Glad Tebow is gone. We can move on. Will Manning work out for us? That remains to be seen. But with Elway/Fox we are headed in a positive direction. That much is certain.
Drafting Tebow (while wasting 3 picks) was another “genius” move that got Kid Coordinator canned after 18 months.
Nothing like a good Thunder storm to help beat the Heat
Good evidence that sciatica has a root in stress as well. Not in Bay’s case – that’s just abuse and a pain in his butt – all bets are off when you wear out the natural padding that God supplied – But there are those in my field who are working at documenting the stress relationship.
So Cat – If we are stressing you out….???………………….blame it on the 5th graders!!!!
One idea that I would like to permanently establish on the blog is that we become able to synthesize our opinions and provide what is called a differential diagnoses on what ever person we discuss.
For example: Just because McD couldn’t get along with players and further was unable to set aside personalities and get the job of football done…apart from cheating…does not indicate he was a worthless human. It does not void his ability to analyze teams and decide the best method of attack. (I still believe that McD football intelligence gave the Broncos 6 straight wins – once upon a time – until he screwed himself with his own arrogance and personality flaws.)
Just because I don’t like Manning for the Broncos doesn’t mean I cannot recognize how great a QB he was for the Colts.
Disliking Fox as a coach doesn’t mean he isn’t a football great and a very decent human being.
Thinking that DJ is no good for the Broncos does not mean I would vote for his assassination.
etc…etc…etc….
Another idea that should be established on the blog is that the writer gets to interpret their own meaning of their own post. After all – this is a rule of written communication.
I think it is pretty comical and ironic when someone clarifies something from a post and then others argue with the clarification. What??? They wrote it…they get to define it.
Bay, thanks! It’s my hip really though, not my butt, either way, I will need to get it checked out for sure!!!
DB, schools out so I doubt it could be the kids (-; and I have way too much fun here so I doubt it’s you guys. It’s actually been off and on for over two years and I’ve been ignoring it.
Dude, if you give us parameters on how we are supposed to take your posts, its going to be less fun to debate each other (-; But I agree, if they clarify their post you ought to not argue with them. I’ll work on it ok? And I am avoiding talking about he who must not be named anyway, so I’m ignoring any mention of Joshy period!
