Thanks to a $200,000 donation from the NFL, Pueblo City Schools will renovate the turf of Dutch Clark Stadium in time for the upcoming NFL season.
The Broncos provided a letter of support to Pueblo City Schools as part of their grant application en route to securing this funding from the NFL.
“We are very excited to be awarded the NFL/Broncos grant to replace the synthetic turf at Pueblo’s Earl ‘Dutch’ Clark Stadium,” Rick Macias, district activities/athletic director of Pueblo City Schools said. “During these tough economic times with the help of this grant, we will still be able to improve our stadium so that kids can have a safe surface to play on. The old turf was 10 years old and it was time for a replacement.”
Each year, LISC (Local Initiative Support Corporation) partners with the NFL to identify football field renovation and construction projects across the country in need of support. All City Stadium in Denver was a past grant recipient in the Denver community.
Pueblo City Schools will hold a ceremonial ribbon-cutting prior to the annual rivalry game on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at 7 p.m. “The Bell Game” is the oldest high school football rivalry west of the Mississippi, 112 years, between Pueblo Central and Pueblo Centennial.The ceremony will take place prior to the start of the game at 6:45 p.m.

Grandma woke up this morning combative and a little confused but we could understand what she was saying. It is pretty comical to watch a sweet little lady who has never been out of sorts in her entire life – get in the face of the doctors and my Dad telling them that they are all lying and trying to kill her – but she’s on to them!

How in the heck is Jimmy Grahm ranked higher than Gronk in the NFL top 100???? GRONK had the best season EVER by a TE…. That one is just baffling…
It’s all bogus! I mean I love it, but how did Peyton even get on the list? Even if it is current best players and not last seasons performance. I don’t get it either. But I do think that Jimmy Graham impacted his team in a different way because Brady has SO many weapons and I know that Brees does too, but I think their situations are different.

I was in the car earlier and I had the local NY sports radio talk show on. The host was talking about how the Jets just lowered the prices on more than 12,000 tickets. He was saying how this was evidence of their real motives behind the offseason trade, and that even the dog and pony show couldn’t even move their seats.. That right there is story enough, but here’s where it gets good…
Stuck in awful traffic, with little signs of clearing up, I decided to call into the show.. I’ve called in a couple of times in the past, and since my topic (Jets season tickets) was related to the topic at hand, I got on within 20 minutes or so. When I got on, I said how I can’t believe how the Jets can’t sell their tickets, even in the massive New York City market.. I went on to mention how the Denver Broncos have the longest current active sellout streak in the NFL, and even has a long waiting list for season tickets, while the NY Jets can’t manage to sell out theirs.. This particular host is very well informed and knowledgeable, and he actually said he wasn’t surprised, and complemented both our fan base and city in general. He said he’s been to games in Denver before, and agreed it’s a great place and top notch organization. Just thought I’d share, as I’m out here fighting the the good fight in the concrete jungle, and getting our beloved Broncos some good press on the NYC air waves!

No recording cat but there is a delay, so when I hung up and turned the radio back on, I could hear my voice which was pretty cool. I don’t think the Giants have any problems selling tickets, but they also have had much more success in the past. I must say, living I this area for last 15+ years has made my two most hated NFL teams become the Jets and Patriots….

I may start doing it more often to help pass the time when stuck in traffic, given there are WAY too many people living out here and there is always traffic… The key is to tell the guy who screens the calls that I want to talk about the Jets, Giants, etc., and then once I’m on I’ll get my Broncos shots in!
i dont see how you do it ot. i cannot do traffic. i’ve visited big cities in a rental car and man i cant take it. i lose my mind trying to get somewhere in dallas, houston, atlanta, ny, and anywhere else i’ve been and had to drive or ride. thats the reason I couldnt live in a big city. traffic. i would turn down a really good job to avoid living in that. its not in me! i see why you would call in to a radio station, keep your mind off of it, stay sane and all.
Being from Wyoming I have never experienced “traffic” like NY has!

So…like all of you I desire to get smarter each day. I feel the need to let you all in on what I learned today as it is causing me a little sleeplessness. I forget who identified my hairstyle as a ‘culdesac’ but that is important to keep in mind as you read my story.
Thursday morning I was taking a break from my studies and preparation by watering my new plants by hand. Holding a hose in the cool of the late morning is a great time to ‘reflect’. Actually I wasn’t aware that I was reflecting as much as I was, but apparently I left my reading specs on top of my head. True Story!!! I realized my error when I got a whiff of burning hair.
While my head hurts from this expansion of the culdesac, the good news is that I’m not blistered.
I have learned today that the culdesac prefers to not ‘read’ the sun through reading glasses. And the sun gets rather hot seeing my culdesac with that kind of close-up magnification. LOL

So DJ’s case got dismissed eh? Did he really think he had a chance or was this just a form of grand-standing? Either way, his suspension isn’t going away, and actually has the potential to be added to with his upcoming DUI court date. He could potentially miss half the season or more……….
Time for the Broncos to just cut their losses and get rid of this bum. This is not the type of player I want to have associated with my team. Let someone else rise to the occasion and take that starting role. And the Broncos can really make an example and show that players off-field activities will have consequences. What a bone-head!

Ya I was actually quite surprised RNH had such a huge year. Thought he would have to bulk up a bit before he would be dominant. For that reason I thought the Oilers would take Landeskog lol. Should work out well for both teams. Even if he played the whole year I dont think he would be a lock for the Calder as Landeskog is so solid in his own end too. He does it all.
