Hi Romi,

First let me say thank you for blogging with us this year. You are a really wonderful young woman - as I know your teammates are. I always look forward to hearing from you. Your blogs are interesting, timely, informative and you have a really educated (and mature) perspective on our team and where we are headed.

Like a lot of other fans, I was really bummed out after both the Buffalo and San Diego games. But, as you've pointed out to us, young teams are always a work in progress and the good news is that we can definitely expect to be an improved and more mature team next year.

I'm one who was a bit surprised by the Shanahan dismissal, but I know he will do well wherever he goes and I know there are also some outstanding candidates out there - not just from other teams but also Rick Dennison from within the organization. I was glad to see the class that both Shanihan and Bowlen showed at the press conference. No surprise there - as they are both class acts. My lasting memory of the Shanihan era was being there for our first Super Bowl victory in January, 1998 (the one I use as my handle). Nobody outside of Denver gave us much of a chance, but our win was well deserved and definitely no fluke. Looking back, I tend to agree with those folks who say the dual role of head coach and vice president is just too much for any one person to do.

Romi, I wish I had been able to meet you this year but with my double knee surgery last month it just wasn't in the cards. So hopefully I may be able to catch up with you at one of your off season appearances - or, if not, at Fan Fare.

Thanks again for blogging with us and I wish you the very best in 2009.

Thanks for all the great information Romi. The schedule for next year looks real tough...I think we will be good once we get the "D" toughened up.

Thanks for all the great responses! It has certainly been an emotional week for Broncos players and fans with the news of the release of Mike Shanahan as head coach. However, after watching the press conferences of Mr. Bowlen and Mike Shanahan, I think all Broncos fans were able to find closure in the decision. Mr. Bowlen and Shanahan acted with the highest level of class and both have such a high level of respect for one another. I think we all saw how difficult of a decision this was for Mr. Bowlen, but if anyone understands his thinking, it is Mike Shanahan. I think the Broncos and Shanahan will both find great success in the future. Sometimes change is needed to inspire and enliven people. Now is the time for us to stand behind Mr. Bowlen and his decisions and keep the morale of Broncos Country high.

During his press conference, Mike Shanahan said something that has stuck with me. He said, "tough times don't last, but tough people do." The Denver Broncos and Mike Shanahan are as tough as they come, and as we part ways, we will all find renewed strength and passion.

I hope everyone had a safe a wonderful new year. I am very excited for 2009 and for the season ahead!

Good bloggin' Romi. I expect the Team to be great next year. I hope they learned the consequences of "not getting it done". We lost a legend. Best of luck to Coach Shanahan and the Broncos Team.
P.S. We're going to be an EXPLOSIVE Team in '09. You're going to be busy on those sidelines!

Thanks for the post Romi.....I wish Mike all the best but paying a 500 coach 7 million a year doesnt cut it. Looking forward to the 09 Broncos. Happy new year and please drive safe......West Coast

We'll all miss Shanahan; a new era has begun! Romi, thank you for cheering and supporting our Broncos through thick and thin. Thank you for looking so fine and representing us fans to the rest of the country. I for one appreciate your chipper attitude. Yes, there is life after Shanahan, and yes, we can, we WILL continue to be a force to be feared to the rest of the NFL.
