Keeping Kids on Track

August 5th, 2011 - 11:39am by cheerleaders

Start your engines Broncos Fans!

Hello Broncos Country. My name is Tara and I am thrilled to be back for my third season as a DBC. I can’t wait to get back on the field to cheer on our beloved Broncos. The off season has been busy for the DBC. We have shot our 2012 Calendar, learned a ton of new dance material, and have gotten to know our 8 talented new rookies (Check out our Roster to learn all about the 2012 DBC).

This year marks the third annual Keeping Kids on Track event that we put on for our Calendar Release party. We team up with The Track at Centennial and race go carts to raise money to keep underprivileged kids on the right track in life. Get it “race” and “track”. We are pretty clever don’t you think?! All proceeds from the event benefit Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver and the Tennyson Center. Check out the website for more details. www.keepingkidsontrack.org

The go carts at The Track are the real deal, not like the ones you race at the amusement park. They can reach speeds up to 60 miles per hour and are a ton of fun! I was the fastest DBC at the event last year. It is a title that I am proud of and I slip it into everyday conversation as often as possible. “Yes, may I have the dressing on the side, I was the fastest DBC at the Keeping Kids on Track Calendar release Party in 2010 with a track time of one minute four seconds, and may I please have my salad before my meal.” Exedra, exedra.

We have been practicing at the Track two days a week to increase our speeds from last year. It has been awesome to see my teammates practicing their race skills, gain speed, and begin to challenge each other and our instructors. It gets pretty competitive on the race track and I will have my work cut out for me this year when I try and defend my title.

I hope that y’all will buy tickets and come out to our event on August 19th. We would really appreciate your support and the DBC never shy away from some friendly competition. If you think you’re faster than a Broncos Cheerleader, come out and prove it!

Tara

Hi Tara, thanks for the blog update. It looks like you had a an awesome time with the tots at the go-cart track. The girls are looking fabulous this year and I would say, more exuberant! This looks like a fun year both of us(Fans and Cheerleaders). I smell a lot of reason to cheer this season ;-) !

Tell the girls keep up the great work and we look forward to more positive activity other-than-football, that is created from football. It’s good to have hope again, eh?

    Go Broncos,.. Go Crush!
(hey you should create a chant off of those..hehe)

Long time reader of this blog but not one to post on a blog. I do appreciate all of you who do post broncos news on here. I have found this blog to be the best source for broncos information and like tebow I ppreciate that.

  4. baylinorcrush says:

I don’t know if that was a compliment or not, LOL.

  5. baylinorcrush says:

I’m definitely not prettier than a Bronco cheerleader haha, but if I did live closer I’d take you up on that faster challenge.

  6. baylinorcrush says:

In a go-cart, not on foot, LOL.

  7. BeastFromEast92 says:

Yeah,I’m with bay,if I lived closer I’d challenge you for that title!

  8. Mikeyb1203 says:

    Re-post.

Hey 3rdgen did make a valid point earlier with the rebuilding. I couldn’t help but to notice the common factor in all the teams that the QB was young and the GM/HC built the team around that young QB.

  9. Broncos Born & Raised says:

Great article, keep up the good work in the community ladies!

  10. Broncos Born & Raised says:

NIce article, Beast. You already know how I feel about it.

  11. baylinorcrush says:

Well, it’s not Orton…But Dolphins agreed to 1-year deal with QB Kevin O’Connell.

  12. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Nothing liek giving henne “competition” he knows he can beat.

  13. strandoftds says:

BFE, cool article, the genuine article, I`m with you on that.

  14. baylinorcrush says:

Yeah, that article is pretty much exactly what some of us have been saying here for months, but as we all know that will not do one bit of good for all the folks here who say starting Orton is the right thing to do, it’s like a lost cause to try to make our points, feels like it has been for me for months.

  15. strandoftds says:

Give it a few weeks and the Broncos/Dolphins trade talks for Orton will be in full swing again, it`s just a matter of time.

  16. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Yea it was a good article. Didnt comment on it because of what Bay just said. The back and forth is pointless. Its almost as bad as the 2nd overall pick discussion. Everyone’s got their points and are sticking to it. I know Tebow is the best move, and any other post or watever in his defense will just be echoing stuff I have said over and over and other Tebow supporters have said. Im just over it. And ready for football. Preseason is fast approaching and i love it. TRB out…

  17. strandoftds says:

This coming Thursday against Dallas, I can hardly wait. Bring it on.

  18. prospector1 says:

Looking forward to the Dallas game.. I wonder what kind of rotation they are going to use?

  19. BeastFromEast92 says:

Thanks guys just thought I’d get one more jab in there while I could, lol.

TRB…..I hear ya bro,it’s almost Football time!!!!!!!!!!

  20. BeastFromEast92 says:

Anybody know if the game will be televised or not???

  21. prospector1 says:

Great read for the orton/tebow analysis. It has some of the best information that I have seen so far.

    http://onemanfootball.com/2011/01/04/on-gunslinging-and-rookie-quarterbacks/

  22. prospector1 says:

beast: the nfl network will be showing every pre-season game (for every team) this year. & our local nbc channel will be showing the game locally.

  23. baylinorcrush says:

That guy is definitely a stats guy and he does a great job but stats over 3 games are about as telling as the score in a game in the first quarter, but I did appreciate reading that once he got on talking about QBs and a lot of stuff said just reinforces what we have been saying for months, once again..

  24. BeastFromEast92 says:

    Thanks prospector!

  25. baylinorcrush says:

Most of the preseason games on the NFLN aren’t live, you just have to check their listings and see when the Bronco’s game will be televised following Thursday’s game, haven’t checked it out, either Friday or Saturday I would guess, maybe even Sunday. But here in Texas I might luck out and have it live on a local station since it’s in Dallas.

  26. imready says:

Love your sources to support your cause. Very credible. LMAO
    Go Broncos!

  27. CurtOU says:

10000% fine with Orton starting. He gives us the best chance to win right now. Not giving up on Tebow, but he’s not the starter right now and he shouldn’t be.
    Curt

  28. prospector1 says:

hey CurtOu, I guess you didn’t watch the last three games last year.. Or maybe you missed the last 2 years of Orton starts. Oh, but this will be his year. LMAO First time someone brings the bum rush on third and 6 and he falls on the ground, you’ll be wishing Tebow was in there to save the day.. Also, Elway was 48% w/ 7 td’s and 14 picks when he was a rookie.. Yeah, we should have rolled with Deberg that year. The only thing to Fear is Fear itself! Don’t be afraid to roll with a Tebow.. All Orton will get you is lame average football…. Remember history repeats, a tiger doesn’t change it’s stripes, and an ORTON is an ORTON.. Do you really think during the playoffs verse the JETS/Steelers/Ravens that Orton would actually give us a chance? If you believe that then I have some nice swamp land in GA that I’d like to unload on ya.

  29. sndvl says:

What exactly was that guy rambling on about. Guns are good, War is bad and Watergate wasn’t a joke? What does any of that have to do with Tim Tebow? I mean seriously!

On another note, Go-Kart racing is extremely fun. Thanks for the Friday Night idea Tara! You ladies keep up your great work….
    GO BRONCOS

  30. sndvl says:

Hey prospector? If history repeats itself, what’s to say we won’t start off 6-0 THIS season?

  31. O&BinCostaRica says:

…. and what happened after 6-0?

  32. O&BinCostaRica says:

How GREAT was this super poised accurate quarterback the rest of the season?

  33. baylinorcrush says:

And the Denver Broncos soap opera goes on and on and on, LOL.

  34. O&BinCostaRica says:

yeah sorry bay but not too much other to talk about right now…. plus it is kinda fun…. delicate (like politics or religion) … but fun.

  35. BeastFromEast92 says:

I don’t know if you guys read the Karl Mecklenberg thing on the DP or not,but it was on 1-7-2011.A fan asked KM this question:

Karl, with all the problems the Broncos have had on defense the last several years, what do you think is the most pressing area of the “D” which needs to be fixed immediately for the Broncos to be a competitive team in our division next season?

    KM replied:

If you were to force me to choose a position to draft, first I would say safety. Dominant defenses have dominant safeties and the Broncos have had our share with Billy Thompson, Dennis Smith, Steve Atwater, John Lynch and Brian Dawkins.

So according to one of the best LBs to ever wear the Orange and Blue(79 sacks,6 pro bowls, and 3 All pro teams) we done good in the draft, getting the top 2 Safeties,in Rahim Moore and Quinton Carter, and the best LB,Von Miller!!!

Chew on that for a while, cause I’m outta here for a while.

    It’s 5:00 here time for a beer!!!!!!!

    BFE

  36. prospector1 says:

BFE, I’ll take a stud middle linebacker as well.. Man, I hope Joe Mays goes off this year.

  37. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Matt Willis pulled a nice double move and hauled in a long bomb for a TD

    Kid still putting in work.

Btw, probably never mentioned but i think its hilarious how they have the bronco logo for cheerleaders bedazzled. So girly lol. TRB out…

  38. strandoftds says:

Prospector1, that onemanfootball article you post up, awesome, totally awesome! That got me pumped. Thanks dude. Thats what I`m saying. I`m not buying the media bullcrap. I still have faith in EFX, they`ll do the right thing, they aren`t that foolish.

  39. Bro says:

Fannin hit hard in drill. No weight on right leg, being put on cart.
    :(

  40. strandoftds says:

    Thats sucks!!

  41. Bro says:

Hopefully there just being extra carefull

  42. O&BinCostaRica says:

    hoping it’s no biggie.

  43. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Aww man, not Fannin. Was excited about that kid too. Sigh … I guess now we know why players wanted less padded practices :-(

Tebow finds Moreno out of the backfield for a TD

either Moreno is now on the second team. Or that was a first team snap. Maybe it was one of those packages they speak of. TRB out…

  44. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Tebow brings back his famous jump pass, connecting with David Anderson for the TD

  45. imready says:

    LMAO

  46. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Interesting rookie matchup to watch in goal line drills – Von Miller working against Orlando Franklin #Broncos

No better way to learn how to handle speed from the edge. Orlando should learn alot … hopefully. TRB

  47. Broncos Born & Raised says:

Great article prospector. Great words from KM Beast, I remember reading that.

I just had to turn off ESPN. The Tebow talk is making me sick. These guys are making this whole situation sound like Tim’s career in Denver is at stake. It’s just getting ridiculous. But I guess that what comes from having the kind of popularity Tim has coming into the NFL. The microscope is only going to get more intense for this Saturday’s scrimmage and preseason.

  48. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Julius Thomas gets behind the defense for another long touchdown in full team drills #Broncos

Kid is killing. gotta tell ya. on draft day when we traded up for him I was mad we wasted a pick but now im glad we got him. He’s got star TE written all over him. TRB out…

  49. Mikeyb1203 says:

It’s just like Champ Bailey said; I’ve never seen a winner not win. By far my favorite quote.
