Howdy Broncos Country! I hope everyone has been having a safe and joyous new year so far! With 2009 in full swing, most of us are back to our busy days of work, running daily errands, and staying active. During the month of January the players are taking some time off before they get back into off season training, everyone around the country is watching the playoffs, and the Broncos Cheerleaders are staying as busy as ever! While we eagerly await news of new coaches and staff members, I think we need something else to think about to ease our anticipation! So today I’m going to fill you all in on what’s happening in the Cheerleaders corner!
As Denver Broncos Cheerleaders, one of our main responsibilities is representing the Denver Broncos organization throughout the community every day of the year. Being afforded the opportunity to be ambassadors of the Broncos is both a privilege and a responsibility that we hold very close to our heart. Charity and community involvement is truly one of the most sensational aspects of being a cheerleader, and we feel very blessed to be able spend time with all the remarkable members of the Colorado community. Of all the amazing places we visit during the year, one of our absolute favorites is our annual day at Craig Hospital.
Every December the entire squad spends the afternoon at Craig Hospital to bring some Broncos cheer to all the patients; we wear our festive Christmas outfits, perform a couple dances, and visit with all of the patients. The patients that are mobile come down to the gym to watch us dance, and then we spend time with each of them and sign posters and calendars. Following this, we walk around the hospital and visit the patients who are unable to make it down the gym. The most incredible thing about Craig is the spirit of everyone who works there and the positive attitude of the patients. People are not made to feel as if they are sick or helpless; the doctors and nurses create an energetic atmosphere full of hope and love. The recovery rate at Craig is exceptional, because the patients are intensely passionate about getting well, and the staff keeps them motivated and pursuant.
It is unbelievably inspirational to see people who keep their held high despite facing immense adversity. It is truly a lesson for us all to appreciate everything in our lives and to realize all the little things that we take for granted. Every year when I leave Craig Hospital, I spend the evening reflecting on my own life, and how lucky I am to have my health, family, and friends. Life can change in an instant, so we must live everyday to its fullest.
Along with Craig Hospital, we spend between 1,000 and 2,000 hours in the community each year. If you ever want to know where we will be, go to DenverBroncos.com, click on the Cheerleaders link, and look at the “appearances” section. You can see where will we be, when we will be there, and who will be there!
As the season ends, we no longer have weekly rehearsals to prepare for home games; however, we have to stay active, healthy, and in shape no matter what time of year it is. Though it may seem far away, April is a very intense month for the past season’s cheerleaders and cheerleader hopefuls.
Auditions for the Broncos Cheerleaders are held every April, and each year over 200 women show up with hopes of earning a coveted spot on the team. As the 2008 Cheerleaders, we have to work extremely hard in the off season; when we come to auditions, we are expected to be better than we were the year before. We have the duty to set the standard incredibly high; and if we fail to represent ourselves to the best of our ability, we will not be lucky enough to be a member of the 2009 team.
The most stressful aspect of trying out as a returning cheerleader is that we have so much to lose – we know how incredible and life-changing it is to be a Denver Broncos Cheerleader, and how spectacular it is to be able to perform in front of 76,000 screaming fans. It is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity, and our performance at auditions determines whether or not we will get to experience it for another year. Now that’s what I call motivation!! So aside from working full-time jobs, being full-time students, attending charity and promotional events, and spending time with friends and family, we are also preparing for our “judgment day.” I will be sure to have more news about auditions as it gets closer. Needless to say, we are busy bees all year long; but our favorite time of year is definitely the thrilling and spectacular Sunday afternoons in the fall!
Have a wonderful week! Talk to you soon!

Thanks, cheerleaders, for all that you do in the community in the offseason.
P.S. I think pictures would go a long way for this blog.

Hi Romi,
It’s always good to see your posts and hear what is going on with the Cheerleaders. Just thinking about you and your teammates really lifts our spirits during the off season - even after the way the regular season ended this year.
Your work with Craig hospital is another example of the kind of good heartedness, caring and commitment that make the Bronco Cheerleaders such great role models for young girls in the community. As fans we are all so proud of you.
Do you know yet if you will be doing any calendar signings and/or photo opportunities during the off season? Of course I know Fan Fare will be coming up (probably in early June?) and I definitely plan on being there for that.
I can only imagine how stressful the auditions must be and the amount of preparation that must go into it. Still I’m willing to bet that, even with all the wonderful, beautiful and talented women who try out every year you will be the best of the best again this year.
Thanks for all of your great posts.

hi Romi,
I too would like to join the Bronco community in showing our appreciation to you and the Bronco cheerleaders for the countless efforts and support you guys have shown through out the year not just the season, on and off the field. You guys are truly special for all your commitments. Shows how classy the Broncos Organization is. Makes us proud to be FANS!
Good luck with all the upcoming auditions, even though its still a while away, all the classes.
p.s..I agree with k_tempest on pictures..lol..
Thanks again for the posts
Hi Romi,
You all do a lot for our community, and i wanted to just say thanks for all the hard work you girls do.
I wish you guys would come down here to FT. Carson and visit us troops. I think It would be a good morale booster. Last year we had some KC Chiefs cheerleaders on post……what the heck is that i was thinking, but thats because i’m biased and would rather have bronco cheerleaders here.
Romi!!
Good to hear my favorite Broncos cheerleader is still blogging with the rest of us lowly Broncos fans. Sad, sad end to a sad, sad season this year. But, I’m excited to see where we go next year.
Great work in the community and thanks for all you do.
Since it’s a new year, it’s time for my yearly chant - “ROMI BEAN FOR TEAM CAPTAIN!!” (Assuming you’re not already the cheerleading captain…maybe this year they listen?)
i want jason garret anybody agree???
DISAGREE!!!…. We need a Deffensive coach. Our offense if fine, we just need somone to come in here and revamp the D.
Defensive coach + same offense=Many wins & Rings to come! I want to see one our guy get DEFENSIVE MVP.
Romi Bean,
Just a word from the voluminous silent population of Broncos Country that will generally read but never post, you are quite impressive a welcome addition to an otherwise routine stake-out of denverbroncos.com, keep it up.
Hi all!! Thank you for your AMAZING posts!! I’m sorry I haven’t written back sooner — but to make up for it, I am posting a new blog tonight!!!!
