Hello again Broncos Country!
I’m glad to have everyone back from the London game and so excited about the Broncos big win on November 14th! While the Broncos were away we made sure to stay very busy! We each have our own passions outside of dancing, and one of my biggest passions is coaching!
This year I have been given an amazing coaching opportunity from the Director of our JDBC program Kelly Tilley. For those who did not know, our very own Broncos cheerleaders have a competitive team call the Junior Broncos Cheerleaders All Stars, and I am one of their coaches!
Our Junior All Stars program is in its 2nd season, and although it’s still very new it couldn’t be going any better! We have two teams in the program, the Blue team and the Orange team. The Blue team is our “Youth” team and ages range from 8-11 years old. The Orange team is our “Junior” team and their age range is 11-14 years old. The teams practice twice a week and on Saturdays they have technique with their technique instructor and third-year DBC Janelle.
Both teams are very unique and have awesome dancers! Their uniforms are blue and orange of course and even have fringe on the skirt to match our uniforms. We started off the year at the end of the summer with our All Stars auditions. The judges? Some of our very own DBC of course! After dancing their hearts out for us, our director Kelly Tilley contacts the 2010-2011 All Stars! Our rehearsals started in August and boy have they done amazing ever since!
Blue team is coached by DBC six-year veteran Brianne! Brianne has coached the All Stars Blue team for 2 years now and I don’t think they could ask for a better coach! They practice every Tuesday and Thursday for an hour and a half at INVESCO. During these rehearsals the girls do a big group stretch, some across the floor technique, and work on their competition routines!
These girls may be younger but they have all learned respect and hard work from their coach and act completely professional during their rehearsals! Brianne was recently given the opportunity to go on an AFE tour, and while she was gone her sub coaches Janelle and Lauren (second-year DBC) continued working hard with the girls and have some large trophies to show for it!
Orange team is co-coached by myself, Jessica, and six-year DBC veteran Serita. I like to call us the dynamic duo! This is our first year as All Stars coaches and we’ve been a great team! Some people wonder, “Why two coaches?” We say, “Why not?” I do the choreography for our routines and Serita cleans and tweaks them to make them perfect and ready for competition.
When we aren’t rehearsing dances we are both drilling technique with the girls! The Orange team practices Monday and Wednesdays for two hours in our cheerleader rehearsal room at INVESCO. They have been working very hard on their competition routine, but we also find time to have fun and bond too!
Orange team girls have been a blast and are at the age where their personalities are getting stronger so they love to keep us all laughing at the right times, during practice! Recently, Serita also had the opportunity to go on the AFE tour, and while she was gone, we made sure to make her proud!
Both teams have competed in three competitions this year and we are all so very proud of what they’ve accomplished! Their first competition was Battle at the Capital on Oct. 30th at the Denver Coliseum. We all met at the stadium early in the morning, the coaches and some parent volunteers did their hair and makeup and then we were off to the coliseum. Blue team competed first and they received first place in their division!
The orange team then went backstage to get ready, we said a few encouraging words, then out they went to compete! I had never seen them dance with so much power and energy, and while standing in the coach’s box I had chills and one very large smile on my face! We waited for awards, sitting in a circle holding hands on the mat. Third place was announced, then second, then first for the Denver Broncos All Stars! What a proud moment for all of us!
The next competition was the USA competition on Nov. 2nd hosted by Legacy High school. Both teams again took first and brought home two more large trophies. Blue team was also awarded with a free bid to USA nationals for having the highest score of all the All Stars teams.
The third competition was a big one, UDA regionals on Nov. 13th at the Denver Convention Center. Both Brianne and Serita were back in town for this one and we all woke up early to make sure the girls looked their very best! Blue team again went first; we cheered them on from the side of the stage then ran back for our warm up! Orange team then performed and did an amazing job! The verdict? Both teams won first place regional champions of their division! Blue team was also awarded “Best crowd appeal” and orange team “Best Uniforms.”
From here we have one more big competition; the girls will be traveling to Las Vegas where they will be competing at the JAMZ Nationals! At nationals they will each be competing two routines! The Blue team will be competing their 1st place pom routine and a character routine! The Orange team will also be competing their 1st place poms routine and then a hip hop routine!
We are all very excited and proud to be going to nationals! We know they will do amazing and can’t wait for them to experience a national competition! Thank you to all our All Star’s parents for your support and faith in our program! We couldn’t have done this without you!
In conjunction with their competitions, Orange and Blue have both had the opportunity to dance with the Broncos cheerleaders on game day. During our Komen halftime show they even wore a modified version of our pink outfits and were put into our game day formation!
They also performed with our JDBC girls during a pregame show to a Salsa mix where they had to learn four routines for the whole show! Like I said, our girls are very professional and talented! Orange and Blue are scheduled to perform with us again at our December 26th game and may even have on some especially cute outfits! We hope you will enjoy the show!
Congrats to all of the All Stars and Go Broncos!

Nice! Congrats to them and you ladies too!
Congrats Girls!!!! Good Luck at Nationals!
I like the Broncos cheerleaders and I believe it’s a major reason to go to the live games at Mile-Hi.. I’ve seen the Juniors perform at games and they make the games better to watch! They add a special extra enthusiasm to the games that you don’t see when you watch the game on TV at home.. Keep dancing.. THANX
