Hi Broncos Country! On behalf of the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders, I want to thank you for your unwavering support through thick and thin, and especially throughout the 2012 season. You are the reason we are all here! Your enthusiasm and dedication both during games and at events in the community is what makes cheering for the Denver Broncos so remarkable.
And what a remarkable season this was! It marked the 20th Anniversary of the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders and a year full of accomplishments worth celebrating!
To kick off the summer of 2012, we had a record number of campers participate in the Dare to Cheer program, hosted by the Cheerleaders in partnership with the Global Down Syndrome Foundation and Ed McCaffery’s Dare to Play camps.
2012 was a banner year for our Junior Denver Broncos Cheerleaders program, with a record high of 18 squads and over 600 young ladies enrolled! That’s right, the next generation of Broncos Country is equipped with pom-poms and killer dance moves. If your daughter is between 6-14 years, and would like to be part of the best Junior Cheerleader program in North America, (I may be biased but its true!) follow this link for more information.
In 2012, we hosted the first ever “DBC Showdown,” a spirit and dance competition for high school and youth all-star cheer and dance teams. You may have even seen the highest scoring teams performing with us during halftime of the December 23rd game against the Cleveland Browns! The inaugural event will take place again in November of 2013, and we hope to see even more teams next year!
And last but certainly not least, thanks to you and the support of our corporate sponsors, our Calendar Release Party and 4th Annual Race to Keep Kids on Track, driven by GMC, raised $29,000 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. We had over 700 fans in attendance on August 25th, 2012 and raised 30 percent more than last year’s total. Special thanks to GMC, The Track at Centennial, AMR, PCL Construction, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, Highland Tap and Burger, Billy’s Gourmet Hot Dogs, Mark Schlereth and his Stinkin’ Good Green Chili, Happy Cakes, Budlight, Arta Tequila, Vinocopia, Judy Blue Jeans and Oakley Women for their generous support.
The money raised was donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs, and will be used to fund a dance room and program run by the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders. We are thrilled to launch the first ever NFL cheerleader-run dance program for the Boys and Girls Clubs this spring, and it would not have been possible without your help!
Stay tuned for information about involvement and participation in this year’s event or visit www.keepingkidsontrack.org!
Broncos Country, your energy radiates inside the stadium on game-day and I can honestly say you were louder this year I have witnessed in my 4 years of cheering on the field! You are a force to be reckoned with!
Thank you for your enthusiasm at community events from the United in Orange Pep Rally (Presented by King Soopers) in the frigid cold to the Cheerleaders’ Calendar Release and 4th Annual Race to Keep Kids on Track (Driven by GMC) in the heat.
It was an incredible season and we have a lot to look forward to in 2013! Have a great off-season and we’ll see you in April for the draft!
United in Orange and Go Broncos,
