Well Broncos Fans, it’s that time of year again! Time to give thanks and to recognize all the things we are grateful for. It’s time to stop and take a moment to thank those who have impacted our lives and time to be thankful for a great football season.
Let me first take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Katie and this is my first season with the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders. Wow, do I have a LOT to be thankful for this year. Here is a list of the top 10 reasons why I am thankful to be a Bronco:
10.) The best fans in the NFL! Nothing beats the passion, drive, and heart of our fans. In fact, they are the reason why games are so thrilling, charities are so exciting, and why we as a nation are “United in Orange.” I am so thankful for our fan’s constant support, whether rain or shine, win or loss, a Bronco fan’s dedication is simply unparalleled. Thank you, Broncos fans!
9.) Sports Authority Field at Mile High! We are so fortunate to not only have such a beautiful and state of the art arena, but it also has the friendliest staff. I am thankful that I can come to work every day and see so many smiling faces. The energy that exudes from this stadium is unlike any other venue I have ever seen.
8.) Fuel Up to Play 60! I get the privilege of visiting different elementary and middle schools, along with the best mascot in the NFL, Miles, to promote the importance of exercise and what it means to eat healthy. I am working toward my master’s degree in Elementary Education, so I LOVE getting to spend time with students while representing the Broncos.
7.) Our Junior Denver Broncos Cheerleaders! We have such passionate girls that absolutely love coming to clinics to learn routines and dance with their “big cheerleader.” I know that is the highlight of their day. What they don’t know though, is that seeing those smiling faces light up when they learn a new move, or when they get a compliment is what makes my day!
6.) Community Outreach! The Broncos has opened up so many doors for me, but my favorite is hands-down the amount of community outreach that I get to be involved in. I am so fortunate to be able to put on my uniform and make a difference in someone’s life. I always try and leave our outreach appearances knowing that I touched a heart that day, but without fail I always leave having someone touch mine.
5.) Our Director and Choreographer! I am extremely grateful for our Director and Choreographer, Teresa and Shelly. They are incredible coaches, leaders and mentors, and they constantly push me to want to be better both on and off the field. I am also a coach at a local high school, and am continuously learning new ways to connect with my team through Shelly and Teresa.
4.) My Teammates! I am beyond thankful to work with 25 other teammates that are like sisters to me. My teammates are my second family, and they have forever changed my life. Without a doubt, they are the hardest working group of women I know. Each and every woman is not only beautiful, but intelligent and brings something unique to our team. I thank them for their constant support, both on and off the field, and am continuously learning and growing from them.
3.) Our Local and National Armed Forces! I know I speak for all of my teammates when I say how fortunate and thankful we are to have so many dedicated men and woman who have committed to making our country a safer and better place. Being able to show our support and recognize all those who have served or are currently serving in the Military is beyond rewarding. Getting to perform in their honor at the Chief’s game was an experience I will never forget.
2.) Our incredible football team! It is tough to describe what an amazing team we have because words can’t do justice to describe how blessed Denver Bronco fans are. We are all so thankful to have the players and coaching staff that we do. Our players have unbelievable drive and motivation, and it shows on the field. I am truly blessed to be dancing for this incredible team.
1.) A Dream Come True! For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a Denver Broncos Cheerleader and support this great football team. Being a part of this team is helping to shape me into the person I want to be in so many ways, from my teammates, to charity events, to dancing with my Juniors, and everything in between.
Yes, the holidays are here, but it is so important to stop and take a moment to realize all the people and things that you are thankful for. Life is too short to not smile every single day, so I encourage you to find what makes your heart smile, give thanks, and spread your gratitude. So, Broncos Nation, besides our great football team, what are you thankful for?
I’m thankful for Orange,
I’m thankful for Blue.
I’m thankful for our fans,
Who are just like you.
I’m thankful every day,
To be on this team.
I’m really quite blessed,
I’m living my dream.
