Hi Broncos fans! My name is Toni G., and this is my first season as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader.
I moved to Denver this past spring from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made! As a Denver Broncos Cheerleader, I’ve found the perfect combination of my two biggest passions in life: dancing and making a difference in the lives of others. Not only do we get to perform at games, but we also have countless opportunities to work in the community at different charities and events.
Recently, I was lucky enough to attend the Holiday Fair at The Gathering Place in Downtown Denver with my fellow DBC, Margaret. The Gathering Place is a daytime drop-in center for women, their children, and transgender individuals who are experiencing homelessness and poverty. They provide meals, housing, and access to a laundry facility, among other services such as mental health counseling and GED preparation.
This year’s Holiday Fair at The Gathering Place was a huge success. There was face painting, food and a very special appearance by Santa Claus himself. Even Dinger from the Colorado Rockies showed up! Margaret and I were so impressed with the staff and volunteers, and we were so grateful to have the chance to work with them for a couple of hours. We were able to take pictures and sign posters for some of The Gathering Place’s residents and visitors. It was so great to meet them and hear about their love for their favorite football team: the Broncos! Bringing a few moments of happiness to someone who is going through a rough time is what we love to do, and more often than not, they return the favor by bringing a smile to our faces, too.
It has been an absolutely amazing season so far, and I have learned so much in my short time as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader. I hope to meet even more dedicated fans at events throughout the community, and to continue cheering for our Broncos alongside you! Happy holidays and GO BRONCOS!
