Cheerleaders: Making a Difference

October 4th, 2011 - 10:01am by cheerleaders

Hey Broncos Country!

I’m Jenna, this is my second year as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader and I couldn’t be more proud to cheer for the best organization in the NFL! I have had some of the most amazing experiences being a part of this team and I wanted to share a few with all of you. Nothing beats dancing at a home game with the best 76,000 true, hardcore fans cheering on our Broncos. Well, almost nothing — the most rewarding part of my job is spending quality time and giving back to the Broncos community.

Already this season, I’ve been spending quality time with different organizations and have made about 40 different appearances so far. One of my favorites has been the Gatorade Broncos Jr. Training Camps, specifically the camp at the National Sports Center for the Disabled. It was such a memorable event! It was a great opportunity for those with disabilities to experience a football camp. They were able to participate in the drills and activities we set up for them, including quarterback, linebacker and running back drills. The kids were strong-willed and extremely motivated, even though several of them were confined to wheelchairs. It was a blast interacting with these kids and uplifting their spirits! One of the young guys even included me in his victory touchdown dance as we danced and celebrated after completing his football drill. It’s memories like that which really inspire me as a cheerleader to make a difference in this great community!

I look forward to many more fun charity appearances and getting to know all the great people and organizations in the Denver community!

Go Broncos!!!!

    Hey Orton,

At least someone is cheering for you……….LOL

  2. brian_schneider says:

Cool that the cheerleaders are involved with the community, especially kids and the handi-capable. Knowing that you can bring a smile to someone’s face must be a really good feeling.

“The kids were strong-willed and extremely motivated, even though several of them were confined to wheelchairs.” Strong-willed and extremely motivated, these are kids and some disabled and they probably show more will and motivation than our starting QB.

  3. HardHitting27 says:

It’s great to see these types of things go on and know our teams are involved.
One of my favorite things is the annual Children’s Hospital Toy Run. This is a lot of fun to be a part of. Thousands of bikes (rolling thunder) heading to Children’s Hospital to bring toys and more importantly smiles to the kids. Nothing beats it.

  4. HardHitting27 says:

I saw that during the game. Was expecting him to come up lame from that!!!

    LOL

  5. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Glad to see all the Broncos cheerleaders to in the community Jenna.

For this sunday I have the Broncos winning 23 – 13

    Later days, TRB out…

  6. sndvl says:

I can honestly say I dont see our team winning until after the bye week. The defense is just horrible. The offense is plagued with mistakes. Everything good is usually followed by something bad. Fumbles, Ints, penalties, bad play calling, lack of execution.
As long as the offense can limit those mistakes this week I’ll be content.
If I have to watch the defense give up another 12 play 80 yard drive….

I think I need a new pillow. This morning I woke up with a Crick in the neck.

  7. killerkod says:

Rivers loves playing the Broncos……….and loves beat them even more. He’ll be amped for this game………wish I could say the same about Orton.

  8. sndvl says:

Where are my manners? Love this post and what you lovely ladies are doing!
I used to work in the special needs program at an area high school. Keep up the benevolent work!

  9. armadillo_orton says:

It’s great to see the team giving back…. EFX i would like to say thank you for your continued hard work. I trust in your judgement and I know that you’ll be putting number 15 in soon. Thank you guys for your hard work…

  10. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Twilightzone moment for armadillo Orton … congrats bro … cant be negative 24/7 even if I mostly agree with u about our QB dilemma. TRB

  11. brian_schneider says:

The solution is simple at the end of this season, trade tebow, don’t resign Quinn, sign Orton to a long term contract since he gives us the best chance, and go out and sign another decent veteran backup QB. That will end the QQ once and for all and force EFX to put their money where their mouth is. You keep saying “Orton gives us the best chance”, prove it, give him his long term contract he’s looking for and get rid of Tebow. Unfortunately all this Tebow stuff is ultimately going to make the Broncos get rid of Tebow.

  12. HardHitting27 says:

And the evil thing will happen……… Tebow will play for another NFL team, excel and win a couple of Superbowls, get league MVP, etc, etc and we the fans will be sitting here going I told you so, while wondering when the heck we will finally be rid of Orton and .500 or worse football

  13. killerkod says:

    My thing is this………..

I have no idea what we have here in Tebow. Yah, he played pretty well last season and in the preseason he was okay……..but that’s the thing. WE WILL REALLY NEVER KNOW UNTIL HE PLAYS!

The one thing we do know, contrary to what the players are saying, is that ORTON IS NOT THE MAN.

He is and always will be, average at best. So the question becomes, “do you want mediocrity at best, or a chance at possible greatness.”

Tebow just might be a bust……….but that’s the problem………..we’ll never know if the kid doesn’t play.

  14. killerkod says:

We will never be in the race for a playoff spot this season. The competition in the AFC is fierce and the wildcard spots will prob be filled by teams with a record of 10+ wins. We are nowhere near that calibre.

So why not take an outlook on the rest of the season as something to build on for next year. That should mean evaluating all the talent currently on our roster.

  15. killerkod says:

I’m not trying to be an Orton “hater”……….I had his back at the beginning of the season, hoping things would turn around for him. But they haven’t and he hasn’t shown me anything to get excited about whatsoever. Same old Orton………….SAD

  16. killerkod says:

    *crickets*

  17. HardHitting27 says:

I’d love to monitor and respond faster to blogs, but I’m at work so I have to do something while here.
They don’t pay me to bash Orton. Though if any and all of the Broncos fans could be paid for that, we’d be making huge amounts of cash……… with escalators!

  18. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Getting paid to bash Orton … HA … sounds lucrative. Altho I don’t believe its bashing if its true.

Yall are sayign the same thign about TT that has been said for the longest. I agree. But they don’t. Only way it happens is if Fox sees the light. As it stands, TT guys can’t be swayed and neither can Ortonites … so just kick back relax and take off your shoes … and enjoy the season cuz when football seasons gone … and u gotta wait 8 long months … u will be dying for some Bronco football (even if it means Snoring Orton).

    Later days. TRB

  19. HardHitting27 says:

So true TRB. I’ve often thought about a “recovery” “withdrawal” group being created during the off season for fans to go to every sunday and sit around and drink beer, eat good food and watch Broncos replays(the ones where we win and didn’t have Orton or The Hood around), talk football etc, etc…….

wonder if we could get funding for such a thing from the government and make it non profit organization?

  20. henryac says:

HH27, something tells me there sure as He11 wouldn’t be any profit in it! That sounds like way too much fun possible so I would imagine the government either has a regulation against it, or will soon. Too bad, though. Having and off-season get-together would certainly hold folks over between the seasons!

  21. sndvl says:

The game against GB is the exact reason I was on the Peterson express. Love Von Miller, don’t get me wrong, but this has become a passing league…

  22. seweatherman1 says:

Isn’t it wonderful that we have people in high positions that we have no clue what they do for a living? I have spent the morning getting caught up since I spent the night without power. One thing I see is…where did all of these Tebow haters come from? One thing I don’t see any of them tell any of us is…why they dislike Tebow? It can’t possibly be because of his performance as an NFL qb. If it is then they need to tell me how they can possibly judge someone on only 3 starts and 3 complete games? Tebow’s performance in preseason? Well, how can anyone judge that when they are behind 2nd or 3rd string players? Guess what folks, Quinn nor did Weber have a chance behind the 1st string during preseason. I know, maybe it was Tebow’s performance in those 3 games last year. Well, truth be known, the week Orton was injured Tebow only had one day of practice with the starting offense. One day! The entire 3 game set that Tebow played in last year he had 5 days of practice with them. Orton has been practicing with the 1st team for 2 ½ years. Now, please tell me just what, or where, this has gotten us? Orton sucked BIG time last year and the blame was on the offense AND defense. Well, let’s look at this year. We all agree that the offense as well as the defense is greatly improved over last year. Are they perfect? No they are not, not by a long shot. Has Orton improved from last year? That question I leave to be pondered because really, everyone will have a different answer. Whaty I am hearing out of Fox is that all of this is not Orton’s fault. It is partially the blame of the offense and defense. Well, what I actually saw was an offense giving Orton all the time in the world to make passes yet he under-threw, over-threw, or just plain threw away some that should have been thrown to other reads. I am really sorry Mr. Fox, but the blame is not on the offense or the defense for Orton’s deficiencies. They are all on Orton. What you need to do Mr. Fox, before your eyes get any further bloodshot, is to look at last years films on Orton and you will be looking at the Orton of this year as well. We told you prior to the first game that a dog doesn’t change his spots. Orton’s spots have not changed one bit, nor will they!

One last thing I wish to cover. Let’s not question Tebow’s training ethics. I don’t think anyone trained harder than he did during the off season. If you want to bash someone for their offseason activities then how about Orton treating the offense to a Hawaii fishing vacation. I have yet to see any ‘Ortonites’ making comments about that.

  23. JamesBroncoFan says:

    Just making excuses

  24. JamesBroncoFan says:

We are not bad, it is just they are too good. BS. I start to hate him.

  25. JamesBroncoFan says:

Why are they taking 2 minute break after 5 min talking? Probably trying to find a question on twitter that is not related to Tebow. That is hard to do.

  26. JamesBroncoFan says:

Did you hear that? He said we are 1-4. I guess he knows we are going to loose next game for sure.

  27. brian_schneider says:

Our pass defense needs to improve, our run defense has greatly improved but it seems at that same rate our pass defense has fallen. Doesn’t do any good to stop the run just so they can pass all over us because getting into a shootout will probably yield a loss.

  28. HardHitting27 says:

So, the John Elway Propaganda show is spewing more canned answers and side stepping questions today? Big surprise.

  29. brian_schneider says:

Not surprising because they can’t very come out and say what actually is going on… “Well we can’t start Tebow because we can’t afford to pay him with those contract incentives. Plus as a secondary benefit, Orton is giving us the best chance to draft Andrew Luck because we want to draft our own QB and not one that the previous coach drafted.”

  30. Broncfalls says:

Know what sucks? we’ll never know what is being talked about. You know, I guess I understand. I mean if I’m Elway, what are you going to say? You’re not going to talk about contracts! You’re not going to say well Tim can’t read a defense! You’re not going to say anything! I probably wouldn’t either…..it is what it is.

I don’t necessarily think decisions need to be “explained”. It’s the concepts to stay this course that is perplexing! Do I need Elway or Fox to explain why Orton is going to sit the bench? Nope. Just do it!

Look, I like the Fox hire…thought it was great for the organization! LOVED the Elway hire, again great move! There HAS to be a reason for all of this, I just don’t know what it is! LOL!

    GO GET EM’ BOYS!

  31. brian_schneider says:

There are only three poeple in the entire world that know what’s going on…Bowlen…Fox…Elway. That’s why they all three can’t travel together.

  32. Broncfalls says:

Has anyone else noticed the swaying of the Tebow vs. Orton debate?

To me, in the beginning it was 100% argued to “WHAT! Tebow can’t play quarterback? Did you see him at Florida?” It was all about mechanics! It was all about arguing whether he could read a defense, make smart plays, audible successfully, throw correctly, stay in the pocket…etc…

NOW…it seems like that has been sacrifised for pure comon sense don’t it! The arguements are not trying to compare Tim to any other quarterback’s mechanics. It’s now trying to apply the business logic to the situation.

Why did we try and trade Kyle? Why don’t we want the gamer QB? How do we move forward with the 2012 draft not knowing what Tim can do? Why do we have a first round 20+ million dollar athlete not playing?

It simply seems that the Tebow vs. Orton debate now centers around pure logic and not quarterbacking. It’s now about business decisions.

It’s just how it feels to me and i think that’s the reason this is so hard to swallow…it doesn’t make sense. Again, you don’t have to explain it, just do it!

    just an opinion.

    GO GET EM’ BOYS!

  33. henryac says:

Broncfalls, I could agree with you if they weren’t doing it with the fans’ money. When you ask people to pay for something, especially a substantial amount like NFL tickets, memorabilia, condiments, etc, for a whole season, they have a right to expect seeing something worth their money. If you can’t or won’t provide that product, why do you keep charging them all that money? Your other choice is explain where you really are, where you are really going, how you plan to get there and ask them to come along for the ride. If they agree and I suspect a lot of us would, you are home free. If they don’t agree, listen to their complaints and explain your answer like an adult. You get paid a boat-load of the fans’ money to answer their questions and dodging them or giving them childish, nonsense answers only makes it worse. The decisions they make are only necessary to explain when you ask for other people’s money. Use your own money and do what you want, when you want. They aren’t going to do that, thus the problem.

  34. Broncfalls says:

    Brian_Sch….

I agree with you my friend! You know, I don’t mean to be a homer….and this certainly is going to sound like it…..

But….I was viewing some old Tebow clips. The ESPN specials, some old you tube stuff…etc….Man that kid has heart! I stopped watching and thought “how can he not do it?” I know it takes more…but man, give credit to someone that keeps getting up and coming for more!

    GO GET EM’ BOYS!

  35. Broncfalls says:

    henryac,

Great points you make! Not sure I even have a follow up thought for ya! LOL!

So let me ask you this quick question. Do you think it is more of a “don’t show your hand” at play here?

I know some on here have talked about escalators and such. Do you think that’s where it sits? I got to tell you it better be LOL!

There is no way, I would let this kid go for anything without putting his butt on the field! I just know myself, I would HAVE TO KNOW! if escalators are at play….then maybe it’ll all play out with a lesser price tag! Hope so..

    GO GET EM’ BOYS!

  36. HardHitting27 says:

Question to consider……. Who would want Tebow without first seeing what he can do on the field?

Honestly, the Broncos are killing themselves on two fronts 1. not playing tebow and finding out what we may have in the kid or 2. not playing tebow and finding out what he has that others may want. unless the plan is to keep him and find out later and just eat it with Orton, hoping he does want gone at the end of the season. in which case, I’m guessing if that is it we’ll see Tebow sometime around week 12 again.

  37. seweatherman1 says:

I agree with all of you. They love to play with O.P.M., but when it comes to what the O.P. want to see, it is lame excuses. I just wish there was some way the O.P. in this equation learned how to keep their Money in their pocket. Then the decision makers might pull up these blogs and read them to listen to the O.P., or drive by and look up at the billboard, or go to just about any coffee shop, restaurant, bar, or any other gathering place and just sit and listen to what people have to say. It may be one thing to tell people all of this garbage they are spreading, but my friends, if they loose the support of the fan base, they are in BIG trouble. That is one reason that you are seeing these other teams changing their qb’s right now that are inn the same shoes we are in.
Maybe it is time for us to stop listening to generic, scripted, answers.

  38. 1nOnlyTRB says:

    HH7 that would be fantastic.

Henryac lmao @ anti fun govt

I hear that SNDVL … but pass rush helps against the pass too but not when Rodgers is never phased. Von is getting the Job done and I think he is outplaying PP so far … altho PP i think already contributing to D and Return. But unfortunately there maybe another great pass rusher next year, but I doubt there will be another CB with as much potential as PP next year. We will see. TRB

  39. henryac says:

Broncfalls, that might have something to do with it since you are talking a bunch of money, but I’m not convinced that is completely driving the train. I suspect a great deal of it is he isn’t their guy, they didn’t choose him, he doesn’t “look” like what they want at QB, and they plan to get “their” guy one way or the other. There was a discussion a couple of blogs back where I said they have a Tebow problem. The only way they can get out of it is not play him. If he plays and succeeds, they never get their guy. If he plays and fails, he has absolutely no trade value and they have lost millions. So they sit him on the bench, hope they can get something decent in the future by convincing somebody else to take a chance on an unknown commodity and try for “their” guy next year. Great plan if it works, other than the fact that your team is another year older and you are another year behind in rebuilding!

  40. henryac says:

HH27, my apologies, mixed up my post! Much embarrassment!

  41. jwscout says:

Some of these blog reply’s are great! Just not under this blog. I would like to throw a shout out to the lady’s that are helping making a difference in our community’s!!! Thanks Girls!!

  42. Kengro says:

Sndvl and TRB were thinking the same thing i was watching the GB game. What if we had PP? I dont really think it would matter. Our D has alot of holes and I have been impressed with Miller’s performance so far. I think he has panned out to be an excellent choice so far.

I dont think the season is lost just yet. We are a poor team at the moment but 3 of the 4 games this season were close. Problem is our schedule isnt getting any easier. As killerkod said we need to evaluate the talent of our roster from top to bottom. We are not going to be a playoff team and we are obviously rebuilding so lets see who we want to keep around and put our best foot forward. We have several players who might turn out like Decker…they just need there shot.

Think this week is gonna be ugly.

    Prediction 38-13 Chargers
