Cheerleaders: Live Life & Love Life

October 27th, 2011 - 10:43am by cheerleaders

Hi Broncos Country! My name is Katie W. and this is my first year as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader. As a rookie, I am still taking it all in and am thankful every day for the opportunity to be part of this team. In only half a season, this team has given me unforgettable memories, the most rewarding being those that touch others lives. Through the Broncos organization, I have experienced this first hand either at a home game, community event, or one of our own fundraisers like Keeping Kids on Track.

I would like to share a story about one occasion that is particularly special to me. Every practice we are in routine of checking for upcoming appearances and charity events to sign up for. As I was browsing through the dates and times, there was one event that especially stood out: the Ian Wallace Memorial Golf Tournament. My stomach dropped. Ian Wallace was a good friend of mine that was killed in a car accident our senior year of high school. Unfortunately after college I had lost touch with some of our friends and his family. I knew then it was not just a coincidence that I was being connected back to these wonderful people.

Ian’s parents had no idea that I was a Broncos Cheerleader when they requested our attendance at the event. Their reaction when I showed up was unforgettable. I spoke at the luncheon following the golf tournament and reminded everyone to truly be grateful for the life we each live, never take anything for granted, and appreciate each moment, because you never know when it will be your last. I encourage you all to live this way as well and truly ENJOY life!

In memory of Ian James Wallace, Live Life & Love Life!

Hey sndvl, I hear ya man. Mobile devices these days are a Godsend. Im currently responding to u on one and u are right, broncos blog mobile is great. I found that article on Tebow on denver post. He put alot of work into it analyzing every play. And I don’t think he was biased. Had alot of great points

Nad carnage u pose an interesting question indeed. And I believe that plays a part. That he didn’t practice the play well…but he tends to kill it in games. Its not fair to the coaches…makes the coice hard. They would be forced to make a leap of faith. I believe that’s what haas been happening in 4th quarter. The plays he may not have practiced well they run em anyway cuz they got nothing to lose and he comes true. And contrary to popular belief…they didn’t just ply prevent in the 4th … there was a lot of man play and blitzes nd what not. They just stopped worrrying and called reaal plays and tebow made it happen. He IS a gamer … but I agree that asking coaches to just believe u will get it right in game is asking alot.

Great story Ktie … its amazing how things happen isn’t it? Almost seems like one of those coincidences u only see in movies. Im gld u enjoy being a broncos cheer leader and we are happy to have u. You guys do alot more than cheer in the community and that’s admirable. I wish I worked for the Broncos…I think it would rock :) lol.

It’s always amazing to me that still in the midst of a world fueled by sports, money, and overall just the way we find ourselves living in such a high paced society!

Whenever I see articles such as this, it is an instant reality check of what is really important!

Katie, best wishes to you as a BELOVED! Broncos cheerleader! Furthermore, I wish you, your family and friends the very best! Great Job and keep those boots a movin’ LOL!

P.S. Katie, get those girls to get that stadium rockin’ this Sunday! Our boys are going to need all the support you can bring!

    GO GET EM’ BOYS!

TRB – loved that link. I was going to repost the link but think it would be good if you did cuz you brought it to our attention.

Would love to see a Carnage response.

No way I could have said it near as well but he presents the evidence for what I’ve believed since Sunday – That is that Tebow wasn’t all that bad the first 55 minutes. The team stunk up Miami for 55 and the team pulled it together in amazing fashion to dominate for the last 3 minutes. It also bodes well if and when the Broncos start firing on all eight for most of a game. They are a tremendously talented team that just needs to get sparked earlier. The Broncos must limit those spark arresters like, penalties, missed field goals, and 3rd and longs. Just basic discipline issues. Give Fox a chance, he’s still learning what his team can do!!!?

  12. Kengro says:

    Broncos 13
    Lions 14

I think we will struggle this week offensively and unlike most on this blog i am worried about the rushing attack of the lions. Fear of the unknown i guess. Im not sold on our run defense but i hope i am wrong. Hope tebow improves and we get a little aggressive on offense.

  13. royalbroncofan1 says:

Don’t worry daddybronc – 61 degrees is sun bathing weather for us here in Colorado !! You’ll hear us loud and proud!!

I read your from Lancaster/Palmdale Ca. (Antelope Valley)
Very familiar with the area as I was stationed at Edwards AFB.
I remember the Joshua trees out there.

  14. daddybronc says:

Royal – I’ve only been in Lancaster since July 2010 – the economy forced us to move but I’m really beginning to love it here. I’m surrounded by 43 open acres and I have another 70 open acres across the street from me – pretty amazing for downtown West side near Quartz Hill – but the open areas have those Joshua trees. I have three giant sycamores close to my house so I’m green in the middle of the desert.

    http://www.itsalloverfatman.com/broncos/entry/you-got-served-all-tebow-all-the-time

Its a great in depth read of TTs miami performance and just about him over all. Its quite lengthy but worth the read. Ill re post one more time in todays practice blog.

    Later days, TRB

  17. baylinorcrush says:

Quite lengthy? Like an hour of your life you will never get back, LOL, pretty fitting on this blog may I add.

  18. The Dane says:

    Prediction:

    Broncos: 24

    Lions: 20

  19. strandoftds says:

Adam Schefter reporting that Stafford had a full practice and looks promising to play against the Broncos.

  20. 1nOnlyTRB says:

LOL u are right. Pretty fitting. For guys who are on da blogs regularly … and dedicate a good amount of time … this is the right place for an article that long. Where I got it from the person was like “before u start reading get ur cup of coffee because this is long”lol

  21. strandoftds says:

Prediction: Broncos win a sqeaker 20-17.

  22. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Strand, he might regret that decision and so might the entire lions organization … we get to the QB fairly often and all it takes is one awkward hit and they may lose him for what could be a promising season … lose him against a 2-4 team lol … stafford or no stafford I see our boys pulling it off. If stafford can go. Doom better be able to go … he better not be out toughed by a qb made of glass lol. Even if he doesn’t play full game … at least just passing downs … only if he can comfortably go tho. TRB

  23. strandoftds says:

I`m thinking the same thing TRB.

  24. baylinorcrush says:

The only offensive player who remains out of practice is starting running back Willis McGahee, who had surgery on Tuesday to repair a broken bone in his right hand.

Head coach John Fox said yesterday that he wanted to see how McGahee did later in the week before ruling him out of Sunday’s game against Detroit. That McGahee was not with his teammates today is yet another sign that he won’t play against the Lions.

The other two players held out of practice were safety Brian Dawkins and defensive end Elvis Dumervil. Dawkins was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, while Dumervil isn’t going to test his sprained ankle until practice on Friday.

  25. baylinorcrush says:

McCoy not shy at all to let Tebow know how he feels about where he is at:

McCoy defended the run-heavy game-plan against the Dolphins — “That’s what was working,” he said — and said that the passing offense must improve.

“Tim has to do a better job of trusting the system, going through his progressions and just executing the system the way it’s supposed to be done,” McCoy said.

The Tebow disciples are going to be irate over that since it’s all McCoy’s fault, LOL.

  26. baylinorcrush says:

Breaking news no one wants to hear:

Defensive tackle Marcus Thomas was added to the injury report as a limited participant in practice because of a knee injury.

DTs are jinxed in a Fox team, that’s all there is to it. That’s why he doesn’t care to acquire any great ones since he knows it’s just a matter of time before they get hurt, LOL.

  27. baylinorcrush says:

I guess we are making our own practice report before the official one comes out, haha.

  28. sndvl says:

I threw the bait out there. No bites though.

So does anybody have an thoughts on Deckers comments during the radio segment posted earlier this morning by Greatness007?

I find it very peculiar. What after the Lloyd trade. The report of Royal wanting out and now Deck…

  29. Broncfalls says:

Just get to Stafford! Get to him! Knock him down! Push him around! Sack him! Whatever it takes!

I would love to see Dawkins hit this kid with everything he’s got just once! LOL! …..o.k…..maybe more than that! But that’s the intesity I hope to see getting after Stafford!

It’s blood in the water with him at this point! Finish it off!

    GO GET EM’ BOYS!

  30. baylinorcrush says:

Never read the DP this morning and Woody says it like it is:

Let’s admit this frankly, Fox and Elway aren’t convinced about Tebow, but they are convinced, as McDaniels was, that Orton is not the quarterback of the future. Nor Brady Quinn.

Ouch Ortonites everywhere! Since by now all the Quinn lovers are gone. Last year I used to get lambasted to say that Quinn was worthless and should be cut, now all his supporters have vanished from the planet, or are too ashamed to show up, haha.

  31. baylinorcrush says:

sndvl, don’t know what you’re talking about Decker but it only makes sense that none of the WRs would be excited about a possible future with Tebow, at least not for a foreseable future, I mean no way they are gonna get the stats to get them anything like a big contract down the road. They are not stupid. Run, run, run like McCoy and Fox seem to sing in unison and without McGahee Sunday that’s gonna be a sight for sore eyes.

  32. strandoftds says:

Tim Tebow has to learn how to throw from the pocket and learn all of his reads on a consistant basis. Once he gets the speed of the game down then he`ll be far more dangerous. Tim needs to trust in his recievers throw those timing routes and anticpate the WR to be where they need to be. Tim will get there, it takes time and reps.

  33. sndvl says:

Think it was TRB who mentioned it…”Tebowing”.

Wow is all I can say.

    http://m.nfl.com/news/09000d5d823868ff/tebowing-becomes-most-predictable-internet-meme-in-history/

  34. strandoftds says:

The WR`s can blame the run, run, run, on Fox and McCoy.

  35. Jwscout says:

TRB- That link you posted was a great analysis and break down of the passing game of TT. He has a lot to improve on, so we will wait and see…. With that said, It seems this week we will have to lean more on the passing game. Hopefully Moreno will prove his worth.

We will see this week and next how well our O-line is progressing along with our D. should be exciting!

    I’m believing in our Team!
    Denver 24
    Lions 21

P.S… So my time for posting this has been off sorry if you have read this or copied the prediction Bay.

  36. baylinorcrush says:

I bet Tebow is considered a WR killer around the league behind closed doors, as to avoid being shipped to Denver at all cost, that’s just the truth of the matter. Sure you lose with Orton but he throws the ball to his receivers all day, you’ll be lucky to get more than 3 catches per WR per game with Tebow. And it’s all about money in the NFL, let’s not forget, if it was about winning it may be a different story, but that’s a fantasy, big payday is what they are all after, and you just won’t get it with Tebow, you’ll watch him make the big bucks instead, LOL.

  37. HardHitting27 says:

Lot of things need to improve on the O. And that was the case with #8 at QB too.
First and foremost, why oh why do they call it a game plan? Oh, yeah, because it’s a plan tailored to beat the team you are playing against. So if the team is weak stopping the run, then run. If they are bad against the pass, pass. If they are balanced, then balance the attack. But don’t stick to your ideal all the time and think it will work.
C’mon McCoy, mix it up when you need to and learn to adjust on the fly……… please!!!

  38. strandoftds says:

I think Tim Tebow will have a better game this weekend. He`ll improve his passing game. Tebow needs more touch on his passes, like when Eric Decker was wide open for a TD.

  39. baylinorcrush says:

It’s fine Jw, but if you post it once I get it, just so you know and good luck.

  40. daddybronc says:

WR need to quit listening to the talking heads and go look at some of Tebows college games. He can pass and he can move the ball down the field in a hurry. Tebow will get used to the speed of the game – it always takes time under center to accomplish this.

  41. strandoftds says:

If we get Andrew Luck will it still be a run, run, run sceme with John Fox. I hope not. Luck calls his own plays for now and is a leathal QB at it`s finest.

  42. Broncfalls says:

    On a side note!

You know what? I think that in honor of our good friend and fellow blogger baylinorcrush he needs a nickname! I’ve thought about this for quite some time (mostly while squirrel hunting Bay) and I believe I have it!

Due to your devoted time of score prediction contests and countless news articles being posted, you my friend have made many of us more informed. You have sacrificed your time to expidite and streamline the learning curve for most of us by doing so!

baylinorcrush, on this 27th day of October 2011 I hereby present you with your new nickname!

    baylinorcrush AKA “The Blogfather”

  43. baylinorcrush says:

Woody attempting to nudge Elway to help Tebow out more, but the fact that Elway is taking such a non proactive approach with Tebow maybe simply speaks more volume than Tebow supporters would like to hear:

I’m disappointed that John Elway hasn’t stepped out of his office on the second floor of Dove Valley and spent day-after-day working with Tebow for awhile. He did it once, maybe twice, in training camp. It’s not as if the executive vice president has a lot else going on these days. There are no trades or drafts or personnel decisions. If he can do a radio show once a week and a TV show on Monday nights, and has other businesses, it seems to me he could spend 15 minutes after practice three of four days a week working with Tebow.

Here’s what I know: When he was a kid, Timmy idolized John Elway. (People wonder why I call him Timmy – when he answers the phone, he says “This is Timmy,” and his mother calls him Timmy.) When he was drafted and came to Denver, I asked if he had never met John, and he said no, but he would love to. I told him I’d try to make it happen.

I sent word to John, and they did meet at John’s birthday party and talked, and John gave him some general advice about playing in the pros – “The window for completing a pass is so much smaller in the pros than it is in college” is one of the things they talked about – and John later told me he intended to visit practices and spend some more time with Tebow. (John had met McDaniels, and John was invited to help the team in marketing the London game and to show up more often at the offices and on the practice field. But, once John became exec VP, and there was a lockout, and Fox was hired as coach, John backed away from being out on the field.)

John did have Tebow over to his house – they live pretty close to each other – for dinner one evening, and they talked football. I don’t think he wants to supercede Fox or Mike McCoy or Adam Gase, but he could be so helpful to a young quarterback. I know that Tebow and Elway meet in Elway’s office, but I’m not sure that John really talks to Tebow much about the footwork and pocket stuff that he tells everyone else. It would be in Elway’s best interest, now that Tebow is the starter, to do as much as he can to help Tebow, even if it helps the team to be able to trade Tebow at the end of the season.

I would imagine if somehow, someway Andrew Luck came to town, Elway would help the quarterback from his alma mater.

I’m sure that Tebow is disappointed that Elway hasn’t spent more time teaching him.

  44. baylinorcrush says:

    LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn’t that how you end up getting killed?

  45. baylinorcrush says:

    Hey, practice blog up!

  46. Broncfalls says:

Maybe LOL! but think of it this way..While alive it’s the amount of respect that is demanded! It’s perfect for you…..Imagine my blog post. It would look like this:

Hey Blogfather, in what direction do you feel the front office will take if Tebow where to finish the 2011/2012 season with an 8-8 record?

It has such a nice touch to it! LOL!

    GO GET EM’ BOYS!

  47. baylinorcrush says:

I got that one, it buys him another year. But I don’t see that happening, the line will probably be more drawn around him going 6-5 as a starter, which would require a 7-9 record and that is no gimme to say the least.

  48. daddybronc says:

15 minutes of nothing in the practice blogs. It’s seems it would be a lot of work to answer that many specific questions with nothing.

  49. RH709 says:

royalbroncofan1: I have been applying to jobs at Edwards AFB. Haven’t had any luck so far.

I didn’t realize that Decker wanted out. That is news to me.

Ok, I do not think all the plays that Fox and McCoy called were stupid but I do think it’s dumb to not try and help him along by simplifying the reads.

I do not think McCoy or Fox are doing this on purpose, they are just being too scared to experiment.

I know a few play calls at the begining of the Miami game were pretty good and Tebow flat out screwed the pooch. That scared Fox and McCoy and the run-only fest began. I think if Tebow hit Moreno in the flat like he should have the play calling would have opened up a bit.

The Fells TD pass was also a genius call and executed very well except maybe that the ball hung in the air a long time and the Oline guys were practically already in the back of the endzone.

Hopefully Tebow learns and gets better and the same goes for McCoy. They both did some things very well and other not so much.

  50. 1nOnlyTRB says:

    Glad u enjoyed it JW
