Cheerleaders: Giving Thanks

November 29th, 2011 - 9:21am by cheerleaders

Hey Broncos Country!

It’s my favorite time of the year – a time to sit back and realize how lucky we all are to live in one of the best cities with the best fans!

Today I want to take the time to look back upon some of the experiences I have thus far as a rookie DBC. I am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful organization and to be fortunate to interact with amazing people in this community. To recount a few:

Last Saturday, we had a Junior Denver Broncos Cheerleaders Clinic and the girls learned three Christmas routines they will be performing on the field. They picked up their routines quickly, leaving time for “freeze dance” with the 6-8 year olds at the end of the day. This game entailed dancing around to Christmas music and then freezing when the music stopped. The girls were awesome, and giggles filled the room as we pranced around and froze in bizarre positions. These memories fill me with happiness – I am so blessed to be a part of these experiences.

The charities we are able to attend are special during this time as well. Just recently, I attended a Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Fundraiser with three other fellow cheerleaders. This was a “Pink Tie Event” and everyone was dressed in their finest, with pink flair accenting each outfit. After arriving, we saw a short documentary about individuals fighting breast cancer who spoke about their struggles and triumphs against the disease. There is no other way to describe the presentation except as beautiful. The emotions displayed by each individual interviewed were raw and powerful, and I wiped away tears as the program concluded. Moments like these remind me that we are all human, and that even the smallest difference we can make in the lives of those around us is special. I am so grateful to be influenced by such inspiring people.

And lastly, we can be grateful that Denver Broncos have had some spectacular games this last month!! I’m looking forward to more exciting games to come!

Happy Holidays!

~ Tristan

To Twogunz, the cheerleader in question here is Patricia.

Like you, Patricia became my favourite Denver Broncos Cheerleader throughout the course of the 2011 NFL season (along with me being a brunette guy as well).
