Hi Broncos Country! My name is Tristan and this is my second year on the team. What a season so far — the Cheerleaders have had such a great time at the home games and at all of the events in the community this season!
I wanted to blog today about Miles. He is a mascot that is near and dear to our hearts. He is hands down the best mascot in the NFL, heck perhaps of all time (and I speak from a purely unbiased view). The Cheerleaders all get very excited when we have events with Miles. We get to ride in the Miles Mobile (a tricked out van that is equipped with a TV, curtains, tinted windows, and painted in Broncos blue and orange) and watch Miles work his magic with the Broncos fans we visit.
Although he doesn’t speak, Miles is a master of nonverbal communication. He can make almost anyone crack a smile. Visiting hospitals with Miles is one of my favorite events. He acts goofy and charming, and fills the rooms with laughter. There is no such thing as “small” in Miles’ playbook — Miles makes his actions grandiose, taking cues from his audience.
Just last week, Miles inadvertently walked into a glass door. Instead of pushing the door open, he started rubbing his nose, looked around, and then proceeded to press his entire body into door, acting as if the door was stuck and that was why he had run into it. We all doubled over in helpless laughter.
Not only does Miles participate in countless community events, he is also at every home game (often with Mini Miles in tow), rallying on the crowd and climbing the massive loud speakers. He also visits schools for Fuel Up To Play 60 and he has “Van Jams” with local musicians in his Miles Mobile.
Needless to say, the Cheerleaders love the Broncos Mascot. Just remember, keep your eyes open — you might be lucky enough to see him in action and maybe even snag an autograph!
Keep cheering our Broncos on!!!

Throw the playoff seeds into the wind!! Who cares as long as you’re in the tournament? Remember our Broncos (paste and copy from Wiki) made the playoffs as a wildcard and advanced against the Jaguars and Chiefs and defeated the Steelers in the 1997 AFC Championship Game. They then won Super Bowl XXXII against the Packers 31–24, only the second team since the NFL/AFL merger in 1970 to ever win a Super Bowl as a wildcard, and the first AFC team to win the title since the Los Angeles Raiders in Super Bowl XVIII following the 1983 season. The win was a big morale boost to Denver and the Broncos, who had suffered through four previous Super Bowl losses, and especially Elway, who had led three of those defeats!!!

One Game at a time!! Next up Ravens!
Just me.
FTR
Go Miles!!!
I can see for miles and miles! I can see for miles and miles. I can see for MILES and Miles and Miles and Miles and Miles! OH YEAH!!!!!!!
Melloo, Prater nails it from plus 50 to end the game. From in between the 40-49 prater struggles at times, but at 50 plus he’s bank!! LOL
Tap your cleats 3 times!! HaHa!!
lol@strands
FTR, the raiders have been dead and buried. Its time to ROCK n ROLL!!!!!! HaHa!!!!
Yee Haw!!
Yeah cat he knew!!
OTbroncos… When Holliday was at LSU we use to call him Happy Feet bc he would always start moving before he even had the ball. So him in the slot could and couldn’t work. Him securing the ball first would be the key.
strand glad we are on the same page. I think this is the game where Prater gets that win for us and really breaks him out of his funk.
Heck yes! Last week Prater nailed some easy pickens up close. LOL
Hey, Cat… Please change your score… If you are correct about not hitting the contest score because you changed it, then our Broncs would win 35-17… Makes a lot of sense to me…
GO BRONCS…
Carbon Countyite… Love it.
AZBroncolover… Just for you and because you asked me so kindly I’ll change my score. Do I need to tell you what it is for it to work or can I keep it a secret?
No doubt what AP is doing is remarkable. But what Peyton has done is nothing short of special!
I’m possibly biased. And to think all the years I couldn’t stand the guy, was esentially erased in a matter of weeks…

Broncos Country Strong 2012!!!!!!!!!!
sndvl… As far as I’m concerned, AP’s comeback is amazing, but not much of a comeback because he only missed one game last season. I’m extremely biased though.
Y’all mean AD? Adrian “all day” Peterson? I don’t think it’s exactly fair to say he’s having a comeback. He missed one game. And his career was never in question. Just my thought.
I completely agree TIcat. 1 game doesn’t really count as a comeback. I suppose it was the severity and surgery that has many people amazed. The fact that he’s having a career season as well… I’m sure he will be in MVP consideration. That too however, should belong to-
PFM? New team, after a year off. Just as solid as in his prime. Not that I need to convince anybody here
I’m bias I voted Manning. And what AP has done is remarkable, but what Manning has accomplished is even more remarkable. A new team, new owner, new coaches, you name it its all new to him. Manning has my vote.
Now that we lost the Barrel Man, I guess Miles will do… Has anyone seen Rocky the Leprechaun lately? He was no barrel man but fortunately I got to meet and party with both of them at one of the 1986 super bowl party in Los Angeles. Those pics are enshrined in my Bronco album, memories…. Actually my greatest pic with the Barrel Man was taken at a Saints game in N-O, and we were shaking hands with one the famous long time Saints fan dressed as a Bishop, and he is drinking a huge beer, haha, the Bishop, not the Barrel man, he quit drinking years before that. BTW, how come all these iconic fans are really old like me, LOL, I think it’s time for some young blood to take the lead and do crazy stuff like that, not as a mascot on the field, I mean in the stands where the real fans are.
Have any of you seen any new “iconic material” Bronco fan in the stadium these days? If so please describe who and what they are because I certainly haven’t seen any on TV. I have this uneasy feeling that now that the franchise has been plenty successful no one is feeling the need to go out all the way to support them like those guys used to. I mean back then it was doing everything we could to get out of the cellar and put the Broncos on the map. Now since that has been done the originality of it is waning and the wine sipping complacency is taking over. Oh well, normal evolution I guess.
They used to paint their houses orange in Colorado, and I own an orange color vessel christened “Orange Crush”. I mean what’s out there now other than jerseys?
I hope some will get wild and creative as we keep this run going, this is too bland so far IMO.
Maybe in the back of my mind it’s the RH thing him going to the Raider game not wearing anything Bronco that is getting to me. And I don’t judge you RH, whatever you felt was best is fine with me, it just saddens me deep inside I guess. Either way GO BRONCOS!!!!!
I got to meet both Barrel Man and Leprechaun while at old Mile High stadium watching games. I met Barrel Man twice, the first time in 1991 when we played the Giants and John Elway got hurt during the game and our first round pick QB Tommy Maddox came in and finished the game with a win. I remember it like yesterday. The crowd was buzzing about Elway getting injured. I got to shake hands with Leprechaun while at a MNF game against the raiders with Shannys first game against them his first year as our HC and we know the rest of the story. But anyhow, I got to shake Rocky’s hand and told him it’s nice to meet him while walking by. These are good memories for me because while I grew up in southern California I always saw these two Broncos Fanatics on tv. And it was really cool to meet them in person even though it was a brief moments in both cases. These are cool memories to ponder on as a Broncos fan. HaHa!!
Just writing that last post makes me happy. Thanks a lot Bay. LMAO!!
My cousin Joanne went up to Tim the Barrel Man Mckernan at Mile High on a cold Dec day in the late ’70s and looked down the barrel out of curiosity. I asked “anything?” and she replied “Nope.” meaning he had nothing else on but the barrel, boots and classic hat. Loved that guy.
Yeah, special folks with special drives have a way to do that to you.
Need more of them NOW!
To think that Bronco fans aren’t as fanatic as before because we don’t have Barrel man anymore is bogus. So could ever replace Barrel man? We have the two guys who dress up as huge Pom poms at every game and Miles is more I folded than ever before. Bay, if you feel like there should be more than that, perhaps you should come up with an idea and put it in place yourself. It took people standing up and doing these things on their own in the first place.
*involved, not i folded.
Las Vegas has changed its mind on the Broncos vs Ravens game. A few days ago Vegas had the Ravens favored by 1. Now the Broncos are favorites by 2 1/2. Thats are rare switch. LOL
* Thats a rare switch*
This just makes me so proud to be a fan of the Broncos

You act just like my second wife, LOL.
Another great article about Broncos doing stuff for the community for this time of the year.

Gotta love Champ! Nit just for his play on the field but how down to earth he is and everything he does for the community.

Anyway, what would be nice is if someone wrote an article about some of the current true hardcore fans at the stadium like the ones dressed up as huge pom poms you refer to so I can get to know them a little and appreciate them that much more. Other than stating the simple fact that the fan base has “evolved”, that was basically what I was after.
I get it Bay. I hate not wearing my gear or being crazy vocal but in the very heart of Raider nation with a fan base as violent as that, I am not going to risk my health for a game. I know that sounds like I’m not a “true fan” but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ll figuratively bleed for this team but I am not going to physical bleed for the team.
Sadly, my experience was much different this game then it was at my last game. Last time I was in the cheap seats near the black hole and the people there were complete trash and at times I actually feared that I was going to get jumped. This time, I was in some upper class seats and the fans near by had much better conduct. I should have worn my Bailey or Miller jersey cause I would have got the standard heckle but I wouldn’t have been physically harassed like I was last time.
And the last 2 years there was a stabbing at one raider game and a shooting the year before. Not a safe environment at all in Oakland. If I remember correctly one of those situations happened in S.F. at a preseason game across the bay where raiders fans can attend a game less than a half hour to 45 minutes away with both stadiums being close by.
new blog
You are correct Strand. Also, this year there is a report that someone was pushed or jumped from the third deck to the first and is in critical condition. Hard to say what really happened there. I got three young kids and I am not risking being stabbed, shot or beaten for fan-hood. Not worth it to me.
I don’t blame you at all RH.
Never would even think you are not a true fan, it just saddens me that it can get to that.
From what I heard no one pushed the guy, he just jumped off, he probably was a Raider fan, I would jump off something too, LMAO!!!!
I heard the same thing too.
I know Bay. It saddens me as well that supporting a football team could lead to such ugliness and because of that I have to be worried about supporting the team I love.
I might be 29 and have lived in CA my whole life but I remember arguing with kids in elementary school how Elway was better than Montana and Young. lol That is 20+ years of fanhood right there.
