Cheerleaders Appreciate Miles

December 11th, 2012 - 2:08pm by cheerleaders

Hi Broncos Country! My name is Tristan and this is my second year on the team. What a season so far — the Cheerleaders have had such a great time at the home games and at all of the events in the community this season!

I wanted to blog today about Miles. He is a mascot that is near and dear to our hearts. He is hands down the best mascot in the NFL, heck perhaps of all time (and I speak from a purely unbiased view). The Cheerleaders all get very excited when we have events with Miles. We get to ride in the Miles Mobile (a tricked out van that is equipped with a TV, curtains, tinted windows, and painted in Broncos blue and orange) and watch Miles work his magic with the Broncos fans we visit.

Although he doesn’t speak, Miles is a master of nonverbal communication. He can make almost anyone crack a smile. Visiting hospitals with Miles is one of my favorite events. He acts goofy and charming, and fills the rooms with laughter. There is no such thing as “small” in Miles’ playbook — Miles makes his actions grandiose, taking cues from his audience.

Just last week, Miles inadvertently walked into a glass door. Instead of pushing the door open, he started rubbing his nose, looked around, and then proceeded to press his entire body into door, acting as if the door was stuck and that was why he had run into it. We all doubled over in helpless laughter.

Not only does Miles participate in countless community events, he is also at every home game (often with Mini Miles in tow), rallying on the crowd and climbing the massive loud speakers. He also visits schools for Fuel Up To Play 60 and he has “Van Jams” with local musicians in his Miles Mobile.

Needless to say, the Cheerleaders love the Broncos Mascot. Just remember, keep your eyes open — you might be lucky enough to see him in action and maybe even snag an autograph!

Keep cheering our Broncos on!!!

Tristan

BT sorry I meant that besides Page Taylor and Mosley no one outside of a QB and RB was the AP NFL MVP

  3. strandoftds82 says:

I saw the Miles Mobile a few years ago in Colorado Springs and just turning onto a I-25 on-ramp. And Yes I honked!!

  4. Bronco_Turtle says:

I Posted Score results on the Score results page for anyone taking part in both contests!

    No Worries AB!

How do you see Sundays game shaking out? I think that the Broncos better bring a lunch and prepare for a real battle in the trenches and a healthy dose of RR! I don’t think that their D can contain Manning if DMT stays in the game, if he gets hurt I might as well throw my pick out the window because we aren’t the same offense without him

  6. alaskanbronco06 says:

BT im kinda on the same page. Will be a real battle in the trenches. Rice im sure will get the ball a bit more but we have improved in stopping the run. Our D vs their O is going to be a good match. I think we will win by our offensive talent against their bad and struggling defense.

The Ravens D is no longer a D that should strike fear into people as it has the last many years. It was struggling even when Lewis and Webb were healthy. Without them it got worse.

If DMT can stay on the field I can see a win for us that will be easier than many others expect.

  7. Bronco_Turtle says:

Cool… I still think the Ravens have a pretty good Run D, with Quality on the DL so I’m really excited to see if Denver’s OL can get a push and if Moreno can keep improving! (I’m so glad he’s back on the field)!!

Crossing my fingers for KUPER’s Return!!!

  8. Bronco_Turtle says:

Plus, Ed Reed is one of my very favorites! BALL HAWK

  9. alaskanbronco06 says:

Baltimore overall D is 24th. 23rd vs the pass and 25th vs the run.

Thing to watch out for is their pride in their defense.

Ed Reed is defiantly a player to watch out for.

  10. alaskanbronco06 says:

We defiantly need Kuper back. The fact that 17 of 19 sacks haev been allowed without him shows just how much our OL really relies on him. He can handle a 1 vs 1 against almost anybody whereas Ramirez struggles against almost anyone 1v1.

NFL will be mandating players wear thigh and knee pads starting next year.

LOL… this guy makes me laugh! Never proof reads anything!!! ‘Broncos are the Number 2 seed but the Pats also 10-3 hold the tie breaker over the Broncos so the Broncos need to send a message in BAL to NE that they have eyes on the #2 seed’… Priceless and Classic Williamson

  13. Bronco_Turtle says:

AB… when I heard that it made me think of McCaffrey! He would have sued the league over it I think! I posted a link to an article about the plan pad change a few weeks back

It’s the perfect storm for the Ravens this week. They hardly ever lose at home. We hardly ever beat the Ravens. Ray Lewis will be rejoining the team. The media is all over them as a potential train wreck down the stretch. They finally dumped Cam Cameron and his 5 yard, 10 yard, 15 yard out route tree.

I’ll be at the game and I am nervous that we might lose this one. The Ravens are a completely different team at M&T Bank Stadium.

Bill Williamson is pathetic. The dude is not insightful and offers nothing worth reading. How does this man collect a paycheck for journalism?

  22. killerkod says:

I think the key for us to win this weekend will be on how we do defensively. I have no doubt that we’ll put up at least 24 points….but it’s how our D handles Rice and Boldin. We need to get pressure on Flacco and force turnovers or at least bad decisions.

  23. alaskanbronco06 says:

Baltimore has allowed 28 sacks on the season and 46 TFLs. That was with their RG Yanda playing. He is out and their version of Ramirez will be playing against the league leading sack duo and league leader in TFLs.

  24. alaskanbronco06 says:

I just gotta say I would never have thought it possible that someone could go 12-1 in fantasy football with Carson Palmer and Ryan Fitzpatrick as their only two QBs in a two QB league taking the top spot for playoffs LOL

Anyways compared to Baltimore’s OL ours looks amazing even with Ramirez out there. 19 sacks allowed only 33 QB hits (10 less than Baltimore) and 40 TFLs.

  25. alaskanbronco06 says:

    Amazing in pass protection*

our OL also has a Pass EPA of 22.7 where Baltimore has -2.4

They are better in run protection as we have -7.8 to their 12.0

  26. tlcat06 says:

The Saints can die a slow painful death. Me being all naive and thinking they wouldn’t target a Manning because of who his father was. smh

  27. CARAMELLOO says:

    Broncos: 23
    Ravens: 20

Our D stops the Ravens on 4th down, Manning drives us down into Praters range (not his ideal range but close enough for a try), Prater hits the game winner as we avoid OT

  28. alaskanbronco06 says:

I think im the only one who doesnt see this as such a close game….

  29. tlcat06 says:

    No, AB! 35-17! Broncos

  30. CARAMELLOO says:

cat I was born and raised in New Orleans and moved away two years ago so I say this bc I’ve had a up close and personal view of the Saints…….

The fans have this attitude like the NFL/World OWES them something. When they did win the Super Bowl you’d thought they just won their 4 straight title the way people were acting. When the Saints were playing in Tiger stadium Tom Benson said after a game as he pushed a reporter, “Get the hell out of my face and I’m taking my team out of this sorry state!” The same Saints fans who hated him after that now acts like he is God. Everyone knew about that bounty in that organization even Mr. Can’t do NO WRONG in New Orleans…. Drew Brees

  31. OTbroncos says:

Hey kod – Lance Ball was wearing a Blackhawks hat a few blogs back, the kids stock just went up in my book!

  32. OTbroncos says:

The Ravens defensive struggles this year speaks volumes for Ray Lewis, and the effect that a proper MLB has on a defense, which is a position the Broncos desperately need to upgrade IMO.

  33. alaskanbronco06 says:

Ok cat. Lol 34 17 is what I have. (17-14 at the Half in Baltimores favor)

Manning 3 TDs. Two to Thomas (One more than 40 yards) and one to Dreesen down the seem.
Moreno busts off a 20 yard TD.
    Prater two FGs.

Denvers D gets 5 total sacks and one FF along with a pick. (Both FGs off of the TOs)

Reed picks off Manning once before half setting up the FG to take the lead at half.
Rice gets a big screen play for a TD.
Flacco hits Pitta in the red zone for a TD.

  34. OTbroncos says:

I know some of us spoke about this earlier, but if we learned anything last night, it was how Belichick is not afraid to step on the neck of his opponent – and choke them out. This is a MAJOR area of concern for our team IMO, as we tend to play soft towards the end of the game with a lead, and this will NOT fly come playoff time.. We need to keep playing hard until the end, and break the back of our opponent.

  35. RH709 says:

I dont see it close either Alaskan.
This Ravens team is reeling fast. Beat up, not the same defense they use to be and a single weapon offense.

  36. wolfedom says:

I have to agree with OT, this is the reason I didn’t increase the spread on this game. We seem to lower ourselves to the competition. I want to see the Broncos beat the hell out of somebody and prove they have the mentality to compete with teams like the Pats.

  37. alaskanbronco06 says:

Yes they let up towards the end but that was when they had a good lead on team. I dont see them letting up on the Ravens with anything less than a two possession lead.

This is a statement game for us. We are a team that has beaten only two teams with a winning record. We havnt beaten any of the top teams in the AFC and while many consider the Ravens falling they still say that they are towards the top and beating them will gain some respect and show we can beat one of these “top” AFC teams. Especially so close to the playoffs. No better time for us to make a statement out of this win.

  38. tlcat06 says:

Caramelloo… Drew Brees knew EVERYTHING and well, I can’t say I feel sorry for them and I’m dang happy we beat them to smithereens, but I don’t think they’ve done enough. Their SB title should be taken away. Smeared out of the record books.

  39. tlcat06 says:

AB! I keep picking 35-17 because at some point I’m bound to be right! LOL

  40. OTbroncos says:

I keep telling myself that (hopefully) Fox doesn’t want to show his cards, and is saving another gear for the tournament..

  41. alaskanbronco06 says:

LMAO Cat!!!! I dont know a lot of different score possibilities lol

  42. tlcat06 says:

OT, I swear they are just practicing out there. Is it stupid to think that?!

  43. killerkod says:

OT…….if it’s not an Oilers hat, I don’t care! LMAO I’ve given up on the season……and even if they did reach an agreement, a half season is just pointless. To win the Stanley Cup you’ve gotta play 82 games and 4 rounds of playoffs…….and nothing less.

This game against the Ravens will really make a statement and show the rest of the league that we deserve to be one of the top teams in the league. The first round bye would be great, but however it pans out, our boys will be ready to ball no matter where or when.

    GO BRONCOS!

  44. tlcat06 says:

LOL! Maybe I should give up and try a different score but if I change it and that’s the score… I won’t be happy!

  45. alaskanbronco06 says:

Kod that last bit is why I think we step on their throat a little. Not as bad as NE does but just enough to realize they need to stay down.

  46. alaskanbronco06 says:

Cat dont you know how that works? As soon as you change your prediction it will be the one youve stuck with all season LOL

  47. tlcat06 says:

Right! So I’m sticking to it! LOL

  48. alaskanbronco06 says:

But it will never happen as long as you stick to it! LOL

  49. OTbroncos says:

I hear yeah kod, but the kid deserves credit for rocking’ an original 6 hat. At this rate, my boy Chris Kreider is going to be collecting retirement benefits… LOL!

  50. OTbroncos says:

Anyone think lining Holliday in the slot would be a good idea?
