Cheerleaders: A Great Surprise

September 15th, 2011 - 2:37pm by cheerleaders

Howdy fans in Broncos country! My name is Lauren H. and this is my first year as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader. So far it has been an amazing start to the season with exciting games, challenging practices and fun events and charities going on throughout the Denver area. I have soaked up every second of these experiences along the way and cannot even begin to explain how thrilled I am to see what is in store over the next few months. If it is anything close to last Monday night’s game against the Raiders, then I could not be more exhilarated!

I wanted to share with you all about an amazing opportunity I was given as a DBC. Last week, I was invited to visit the Children’s Hospital and see a young man named Alex who is currently a patient at the hospital. It was Alex’s 19th birthday and being a big Denver Broncos fan, we thought it would be a great idea to surprise him with some great Broncos gear and some birthday cake! After giving him his presents, he had promised us that he would wear his new Broncos hat and Broncos t-shirt for the big game against the Raiders! Alex loved what we had brought him and we were honored to be there on his very special day.

It was such a great day to celebrate Alex’s 19th birthday, but we also learned some wonderful things about him as well. Not only did we learn that Alex is a huge fan of the Broncos, but we also learned that he loves Christmas! His room was decorated with colorful Christmas drawings and a massive green and red sign from the hospital staff that read, “Happy birthday Alex!” It was apparent that Alex is truly loved there at the hospital! Something else that we had learned about Alex was that he is a very talented pianist who has been playing the piano since he was only four years old. Playing the piano is one of his many passions and he lit up as we asked him questions about his talent. It was incredibly moving to see how passionate he was on the subject. Here is a video of one of his amazing performances on the piano…

After meeting and spending time with Alex, I truly feel touched to have met such an amazing person! I hope to be able to be a part of many more experiences such as these and meet more people like Alex. I will never forget such a great day and hope others can be given the opportunity I was given. Go Broncos!

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Tim Tebow appreciates his fans cheering for him to take over as the Denver Broncos’ quarterback, but he says he trusts his coach and will bide his time without complaint.

A group of his most ardent supporters have said they’d like to buy two billboards in downtown Denver urging coach John Fox to bench Kyle Orton in favor of the former University of Florida star.

Tebow said he’d rather they donate the $10,000 to his charitable foundation.

Orton had a poor performance in Monday night’s season-opening loss to the Oakland Raiders, but Tebow didn’t go in the game.

Tebow said the Broncos don’t have a specific package of plays designed to capitalize on his skills like they did last season, when he occasionally came in on short-yardage situations before starting the last three games.

Such a Tebow thing to say lol. Thats why people love him. TRB

    errr at you TRB, hehe.

I just posted that on the other blog…. paraphrased though, so uh, yeah nvm

*double posts* this took some work, sad to see it wimper away. hahah

A few things to keep in mind going into this weeks game against Cincy. Weak team? Instant win for us? Well lets look at the numbers from last year.

    Offense:
    Total yds/ game Cincy: 294 Denver:310
    Pass yds/game Cincy: 155 Denver: 272
    Run yds/game Cincy: 139 Denver: 38
    Points/game Cincy: 27 Denver:20
    3rd down con Cincy: 41.3 Denver 46.2
    TOP Cincy: 18:23 Denver 16:45

    Defense:
    Total yds/game: Cincy: 285 Den: 289
    Pass yds/game Cincy: 202 Den: 99
    Run yds/game Cincy:83 Den: 190
    Points/game Cincy: 17 Den: 23
    3rd dwon con Cincy: 26.7 Den: 35.7

Taking into account this was last year, we sure played like we did a lot last year on Mon. Oakland isn’t the only “bad” team we are playing this year that match us for our strengths and beat us were we are weak. It will be another hard game, I hope Den is ready.

Averaging these stats this is what Den on paper is supposed to do.

    Denver: 237 yds passing ; 60 yds rushing ; 36.45 3rd down success.

    SCORE:
    Cincy:25
    Den: 19

Our team may not always look good butt man do our cheerleaders!!!

  9. strandoftds says:

So if there`s no Tebow packages such as inside the 15 yard line then Broncos football is going to be very very vanilla. Bloody boring indeed.

  10. stevecan2 says:

Tebow said: “Um, well, I mean I guess I appreciate the support. But we have people in charge here that we trust, and trust that they’re going to do the right thing and do a good job.”

Whatever they are putting in the water in Englewood, is some potent stuff. I want some!

Lol steve i was looking for an article and when i didnt see one anywhere on the blogs i figured it wasnt shared. But i guess i didn’t think about a paraphrased version … i was looking for article format lol. TRB

  12. stevecan2 says:

    boring indeed.

  13. stevecan2 says:

I know better, it was a little shallow on my part. thanks for posting the whole thing.

  14. stevecan2 says:

kind of hard at the moment. I am sitting in a dug out on my lap top and watching my team set up the field for drills. I get the Outfield for 45 minutes today. all legs, no gloves, tennis balls. even the HC is wandering about my method of teaching fundies.

  15. BeastFromEast92 says:

    GOOD GOD ‘O’ MIGHTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. baylinorcrush says:

stevecan2, you are pulling a TRB on me, you already posted a Cinci win 27-20, that’s your entry.

  17. stevecan2 says:

i gotcha. It was what the numbers indicated. I made that prediction going off of how I analyzed it. I just wanted people to know what it looks like on paper.

kind of makes me wander though, how my prediction is so close…. hmmm

  18. stevecan2 says:

i try and always put *official entry* or something along those lines in a short post now, to avoid being passed over and making it easier for you to pick it up after the last missed prediction.

  19. sirobertvondoom says:
