Bringing Home the Win

September 3rd, 2010 - 5:32pm by cheerleaders

Hello Broncos Fans!

I hope many of you were able to enjoy Denver’s second pre-season home game against the Pittsburg Steelers.  This was my second game on the field as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader and our first field performance for the Junior Denver Broncos Cheerleaders.  And, may I remind you, it was a great game ending in a Bronco’s victory!

My name is Becky and this is my rookie season as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader.  This summer has been a whirlwind of events for all of the rookies on the team.  We had our summer training camp, team workouts, late night practices, photo shoots, Junior Cheerleader clinics, charity and promotional events, and our calendar release party!  It has been a little overwhelming but it has also been a lot of fun and I have already made memories that will last me a lifetime.

As I mentioned, on Sunday we had our second pre-season game.  I felt really good about having one game under my belt as I knew a little bit more of what to expect on the field.  We had a scorching hot practice on the field on Sunday afternoon.  After re-hydrating and getting my game face on, I had a promotion for Go Auto on the main concourse.  It was so nice to see our Broncos fans up close and personal.

As we signed our team photos and took pictures with people, it was nice to see Broncos spirit displayed with hats, jerseys, spray painted hair, orange and blue faces, and more!   I love Broncos fans!  We must have the best fans in the NFL!

After my fan meet and greet, I headed down to our locker room for our traditional pre-game team circle.  This is a chance for the cheerleaders to come together as a group and focus our thoughts and energy into having a great game.  I love this part of game day!  It’s not often that we slow down to appreciate what we are blessed with in life.  And I can say I feel truly blessed to be a part of the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders!

Next, we headed onto the field for an exciting pre-game!  We preformed the Broncos fight song with the band, Thunder delivered the game ball, we did the player introduction tunnel, the national anthem, we preformed our pre-game routine, and we brought back the “Go Broncos” cheer from the old Mile High Stadium!  It was a jam-packed few minutes for us before the game kick-off!

The game was awesome!  I have to say that the best part of the game is our die hard Broncos fans!  The fans keep me motivated to dance hard on the field and help lead our team to victory!  Thank you to all of you that come out to support the Broncos, rain or shine!

Half time of the game was the first opportunity for our Junior Denver Broncos Cheerleaders to perform on the field.  We have dance clinics with our Junior Cheerleaders throughout the summer to teach the dances and get them ready for their game day performance.

I work with the 6-8 year olds and we did a dance to “Ice Cream Scream.”  My girls worked very hard, in clinics and at home on their own time to perfect this routine.  I know that two of my girls even taught the dance to their three-year-old sister so they could all practice together at home!  Way to go girls!

I was so excited for all of them to get to experience their very first field performance and I think they were awesome!  They were my little shining stars and I’m so proud of each and every girl on Squad 4!  Keep up the good work girls!

I know the Steelers game was still preseason, but I have to admit, it felt really good to get a win!  For all of the Junior Cheerleaders and amazing Broncos fans, here’s to many more wins this season!  I hope to see you at our home opener when we take on the Seahawks!

Go Broncos!

Becky
