Ready, Set…. SUMMER SCRIMMAGE!

The 2011-2012 season has been secured and it’s game time Broncos Country! What a better way to kick it off than a Summer Scrimmage? This past Saturday, thousands of Broncos fans came out to kick-off the season and support their beloved Broncos! The afternoon was filled with not only a chance to see the status of our team on the field, but also opportunities for us (the Broncos) to do what we do best, hang out and connect with the Denver community.

As far as the cheerleaders go, we were optimistic during the whole lockout period and continued with our normal pre-season procedures: 2 four hour practices per week, charity events in the community, calendar shoot, and more! However, the vibe in the Denver air definitely has changed since the season has been announced. At Saturday’s Summer Scrimmage, the fans were THERE! …in person and in spirit! It was a great day for the Denver community just to celebrate together! The cheerleaders were spread out throughout the stadium signing our new 2011 posters, performing, and hanging out with our fans.

I got to be with the kids at the KID ZONE!!! (my personal favorite!) Before the Scrimmage, the kids and their families got to have some fun in the sun, bouncing through blow-up obstacle courses, meeting Miles, as well as myself and some of my DBC friends! The Scrimmage was also a great opportunity for us to make sure we were “Game Day” ready! It was the first time the 2011 team got to showcase some of our new routines on the field. It felt so great to be back on the field again and was just a little taste of what’s to come next Saturday! We hope you’re as ready as we are… it’s going to be a GREAT season Broncos fans!
