Hey Broncos fans!
It’s Janelle, a 3rd-year veteran and I’m so excited after that awesome game Sunday! What a wonderful way to take a huge step in a positive direction with an exciting game and Tim Tebow’s first starting win!
Tebow has brought so much excitement and energy to the Broncos team and community! It was great to see him get the win! He inspired his teammates, our fans, the entire organization, and has left a buzz in the air throughout the entire Mile High City!
Denver was trailing the Houston Texans 17-0 at halftime. This deficit did not stop Tebow, as he rallied the Broncos in the second half for a come from behind win, 24-23.
Tebow scored the final touchdown of the game to put the Broncos on top! With the help of the defense and the interception by Syd’Quan Thompson, the Broncos held on to win their fourth game of the season. A new light has been shed with the help of Tebow, interim coach Eric Studesville and all of the Broncos players who stepped up at Sunday’s game.
Tebow didn’t have a game of perfect stats, but he was able to stay poised and come from behind to win the game. He was 16-of-29 passing for 308 yards with a touchdown and a interception. His 308 passing yards were the most by any Broncos quarterback during a first time home start. He also rushed the ball 10 times for 27 yards and a touchdown. Tebow is the first rookie since the 1970 NFL merger to lead a 17-point comeback in his first home start.
Tebow averaged 19.3 yards per completion for the second-best mark in team history and the NFL this year. Tebow is tied for third among all NFL quarterbacks this year by having both rushing and passing touchdowns in three different games this season!
In the win, Tebow’s third-down passer rating of 139.1 (6 of 9 for 96 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions) was the highest by a rookie this year. He is also on pace to become the first rookie in NFL history to lead the league in jersey sales.
The energy Tebow brought to the game, the sidelines, and the fans was unforgettable. Every time Tebow ran on the field, fans chanted his name. There were signs in every corner and on every level asking to “Release the Tebow!” How about that 50-yard bomb in the air to Jabar Gaffney? I’d say all of our holiday and Christmas wishes came true!
In Tebow’s first game as a starter in front of our home crowd, he sure gave the fans and his teammates something to cheer about. The rookie quarterback plays with passion, heart, and the determination to win, and for a Broncos fan, you can’t ask for more than that! We look forward to many more wins from Tebow in the future, and we can’t wait to see him on the field at our last game at INVESCO Field at Mile High against San Diego on Sunday.
Keep the faith Broncos Country because we have the best fans and team in the NFL!
Go Broncos and beat the Chargers!
