An Achilles tendon rupture sends more than one third of National Football League (NFL) players to the sidelines permanently.

Problem for the front office is with Moreno and Demaryius being question marks now means our two previous first picks in our drafts are in danger of being a total waste, tough pill to swallow, sometimes teams hang on to those just so they don't have to face such horrendous prospect but often it is best to make tough decisions as soon as possible... I would personally move on without either. I'm a mean guy, haha.

I personally I'm now more laying my hopes in having Thomas succeed, not Demaryius but the newly acquired TE Julius, similar big body, similar skill set even if at a different position.

And remember he tore it in February, not last season, so his 8 months recovery already makes him miss yet one more half of a season before he has a chance to do anything, it's a tough roster spot to reserve for someone who has yet to have a healthy NFL season.

Problem with a torn achilles is you might as well throw a coin as far as his chances to ever be fully recovered are concerned and on a big man with multiple lower legs/feet issues in the NFL the last couple of years it just compounds the negatives, just saying, lots to think about... Nice kid though hope it all works out for him, with us or anyone else.

I for one, would like to see the Broncos give Demaryius Thomas another opportunity before considering parting ways. DT offers quite a bit of upside at the wideout position with his speed..(4.36 - 4.38) in the 40 yd dash. He is a great downfield blocker...something not all wideouts do very well. DT also has great leaping ability.. (part of high school basketball state championship team). DT did not have a record of being injury prone during his college career until he was injured prior to the Combine. Thomas also has a great attitude and is very coachable.
The Team will have to take a closer look at him, once the lockout is lifted and make their evaluation. Also may consider the option of restructuring his contract based on availability, if possible.

The Broncos no doubt, will do what's best for the Team.

As anyone who reads the blogs here would know I really would have no problems at all trading DJ, but since we have been so thin and now new at LBs I would think they would rather rework his contract than to trade him and see one more year what he can really do back at the weakside, his arguably best spot.

It better be at least a high 3rd for Orton is all I'll say about that.

Don't know what Moreno is making this year, but it was around 5 mil last year I think, and everybody here also knows I would have no problem trading him whatsoever, but same applies here as for DJ, very weak at the RB position so trading him is not as enviable at this point as reworking his contract which is a must.
